This week marked the release of Jared Leto: Hollywood's Darkest Secret, a documentary produced by the BBC that focuses on the ******* ular actor and musician. As part of that doc, 10 women apparently come forward and level claims against Leto (56). The Oscar winner has specifically been accused of ******* ual ******* ault with some of the women also alleging that Leto had ******* with them when they were underage. Now, Leto himself is speaking out in the aftermath of the allegations.
With the release of the doc, the BBC released a statement, saying that it corroborated "a number of the women's accounts with friends and family who were told about the encounters with Leto at the time." The media organization also said it had obtained items such as photos and messages that "support the women's accounts." Leto's representatives shared a statement with Variety, with which the actor denied the claims against him:
I have never ******* ually ******* aulted anyone in my entire life. These claims are absolutely and categorically false.

First there was "The Indecision" by LeBron James which dragged his free agency decision on for what seemed like three Northeast Ohio pro football seasons, now there is "The Aftermath."

Tony Romo has gone through several ups and downs as the lead NFL game **** yst at CBS Sports, and now he faces legal trouble as well.
The former Dallas Cowboys quarterback is a polarizing figure on the air in CBS' No. 1 broadcast booth, and his reputation inside the walls of the company has fluctuated in his near-decade in the seat as well. Previous leadership infamously met with him for an intervention of sorts in 2022, shortly after he signed a whopping 10-year, $180 million contract with the network.
In the years since, he called another Super Bowl — in a mostly strong performance that was partly overshadowed when he stepped on partner Jim Nantz's call of the game-winning touchdown — but has continually made high-profile mistakes and drawn the ire of NFL diehards.
Still, in the aftermath of Romo's OWI (operating while intoxicated) arrest in Wisconsin last week, CBS management is seemingly standing behind him. A new report from the Daily Mail contains several quotes from executives at the company who backed Romo, one of whom told the British outlet that Romo "isn't going anywhere."
Some in the industry have speculated that the arrest could be an ideal excuse for CBS to part ways with Romo, who had seemingly been on thin ice at the network in the past. And with the caveat that this report — and other follow-ups — are coming mostly from tabloids, Romo appears to be safe.

An Australian athlete passed a murder scene while on a Commonwealth Games training run in Glasgow.
Olli ***** witnessed the aftermath of a fatal knife attack, which happened in Burgher Street, in the east end of the city, about 15:00 on Friday.
Police Scotland said Paul McMinigal, 44, was discovered in a close and ***** ounced dead at the scene.
The Sydney Morning Herald has reported that Australian athletes have since been asked to train in small groups and not to run in nation's distinctive green and yellow team uniform.
However BBC Scotland News has been told this advice is standard protocol at championships and not a Glasgow-specific request.

Strickland then out-landed Chimaev on the feet en route to amassive upset win via split decision. UFC CEO DanaWhite later claimed that Chimaev had discussed a move up tolight heavyweight in the immediate aftermath of his firstprofessional loss. However, he has since been repeatedly callingfor a rematch against Strickland.

Meanwhile, Stirling has racked up five UFC wins, with two finishes,since making his Octagon debut in 2024. He is now scheduled tofight JanBlachowicz on less than three weeks' notice at UFC Belgrade on Aug. 1 in Serbia.

Poirier was arrested at Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta InternationalAirport on a charge of public drunkenness after he threatened tofight a police officer while intoxicated and even used a racialslur. He has since owned up to his mistake while accepting hisissues with alcoholism since his retirement, vowing to stay sobergoing forward.

However, Poirier (30-10) recently revealed that Bud Light canceledhis sponsorship due to the incident and Ultimate Fighting Championship middleweight king Stricklandisn't on board with the decision.
While Strickland had initially mocked Poirier for blaming hisdepression, he has since expressed his heartfelt support for "TheDiamond." Strickland had even warned Bud Light against cancelingPoirier's sponsorship. The two-time champion recently lashed out atthe beverage company for the same.

Strickland (31-7) says Bud Light already betrayed America byprinting transgender influencer Dylan Mulvaney's photo on theircans in 2023. He believes Poirier didn't deserve to lose hissponsorship for nothing more than an embarrassing drunk incident.Strickland says Bud Light should have instead extended their helpto Poirier to deal with his alcoholism.

The Cincinnati Bengals aren't strangers to looking for new offensive coordinators.
They did so in the aftermath of Brian Callahan leaving a few years ago. And they have consistently dealt with the fact Dan Pitcher has been a hot name on multiple hiring cycles now.

The Athletic's Jourdan Rodrigue just outlined the breakout coaching candidates for each team and highlighted Pitcher, who gets an extra boost because of his surroundings.

Peter Schrager's 2 p.m. show seems to be sports media's worst-kept secret at this point.
OutKick's Bobby Burack reported that ESPN is expected to announce a new 2 p.m. show hosted by Schrager in the coming week(s). The show itself has been the expected outcome of ESPN's afternoon lineup shuffle since at least May, when The Athletic's Andrew Marchand reported that a program built around Schrager was the leading candidate to replace the 2 p.m. edition of SportsCenter.
Schrager's name has been tied to ESPN's afternoon shakeup since almost the moment Around the Horn was canceled. When CNBC's Alex Sherman first reported that ESPN was considering replacing the 2 p.m. SportsCenter, he described the concept as an "all-sports" show rather than another NFL-only hour, and Marchand reported last spring that Schrager doing a show at 2 or 5 p.m. was "pretty likely," floating the idea that he could be "a central figure in some sort of ensemble" rather than a solo act.
Schrager joined ESPN from NFL Network and Fox Sports last April after nearly a decade as one of the faces of Good Morning Football, and quickly became a fixture across Get Up, First Take, NFL Live, and The Pat McAfee Show. He stole the show at McAfee's NFL Draft Spectacular that spring, launched The Schrager Hour podcast with Omaha Productions in the fall, and stepped in as a guest host for Mike Greenberg on Get Up, a run that gave ESPN executives confidence he could anchor an hour of his own, per Marchand's reporting. He's also been candid about missing the three-hour daily runway he had at Good Morning Football, where he could spend eight minutes on whatever topic interested him that day. A solo show would hand him something close to that format again.
The 5 p.m. hour, by contrast, looks like it's staying put. That slot has also been filled by SportsCenter since Around the Horn's cancellation, and while Scott Van Pelt was floated for months as a candidate to take it over, he confirmed on his own podcast in April that he's staying in his late-night role rather than moving. ESPN executive Burke Magnus had pushed hard for a reunion between Van Pelt and Ryen Russillo to anchor the new hour, telling Andrew Marchand it was "a bit of a selfish concept by me" given how big a fan he'd been of their old radio pairing, but Russillo's own schedule — and later move to Barstool — made the setup unlikely. Without a concept he could actually build around, Van Pelt opted to stay with the format that's already earned his SportsCenter 10 Emmy nominations and regularly lands him timely interviews with players and coaches in the immediate aftermath of major games, interviews that simply wouldn't be available to a show airing at 5 p.m. instead of after primetime.

Jurgen Klopp will make his return to management for the first time since leaving Liverpool as the new head coach of the Germany national team, it has been confirmed.
Klopp has been appointed in the aftermath of Germany’s disappointing World Cup campaign, which saw them exit at the last-32 stage following a penalty shootout defeat to Paraguay.
Given the manner of their exit, former coach Julian Nagelsmann was asked to resign by the German football ***** ociation DFB who then pursued talks with Klopp to become the next head coach.
The DFB announced that Klopp had reached “an agreement on the key points” of a deal to take over the national team on Saturday 11 July, following talks in New York, with a contract up to the 2030 World Cup now signed.
Klopp managed Liverpool for nine years taking charge in October 2015 before departing at the end of the 2024 season having won both the Premier League and Champions League with the Reds.

Aftermath Silver Ltd (TSX-V:AAG, OTCQX:AAGFF, FRA:FLM1) announced that it has started drilling at the eastern edge of its Berenguela project in Peru to test for high-grade copper mineralization beyond the current mineral resource estimate, while also launching a drill program at its Challacollo silver-gold project in northern Chile.
The company said the Berenguela program will initially include up to 1,000 metres of core drilling targeting an eastern copper zone, following previous drill results that intersected high-grade copper and silver mineralization. The program may be expanded depending on results.
Shares of Aftermath gained 6.2% in Toronto on Wednesday morning.
Aftermath Silver CEO Ralph Rushton said the company is investigating the potential for additional high-grade copper mineralization outside the current resource area after encouraging drilling results from 2024 and 2025.
"Our previous drilling in 2024/2025 on the eastern margins of the MRE was extremely positive and with the copper spot price close to its all-time high I look forward to reporting on the results of the drilling later this year," Rushton said in a statement.

The S&P 500 (^GSPC) is in an earnings boom. The usual earnings bust never came.
Wall Street's forecast for S&P 500 profits over the next year has climbed to about $373 per share, up roughly 32% from a year ago.
That is a rare number.
Since 1990, forward earnings growth has been stronger only in the aftermath of the global financial crisis and the pandemic. Back then, however, Wall Street was rebounding from deep cuts to its forecasts.
Not this time.

For a man who led France with such distinction, it was not a Bastille Day to savour. Didier Deschamps led his country for longer than Charles de Gaulle, albeit in rather different roles and with a less bombastic style. But he is football's most decorated Frenchman on the global stage. On a day seemingly designed for the French, however, his World Cup in effect ended. Spain outclassed France in Dallas.
After 14 years, after this 14 July, his reign only has a third-place play-off to come. There will be no third World Cup for Deschamps as player or manager, no third consecutive final in the dugout. He can retire the dark suit and white shirt he wore even in the 100-degree heat of Philadelphia. He can still figure in the conversations for the best World Cup manager of all, but victory in New York on Sunday could have rendered him the nonpareil.
"It was not important on a personal level if I leave in a semi-final or final," said Deschamps. In a sense, there was no false modesty; Deschamps has not made it about him, always designing his team around his players, not vice-versa. Yet when he reached the end, it was to a side built around a philosophy, a style of play, an identity. In a sense, Deschamps has seemed the ultimate international manager: because international football can be based around building an environment that players enjoy and decided by moments. Kylian Mbappe can be the best moments player in the world, France the best moments team: but there were no moments against Spain, who suffocated the French forwards and passed with intelligence. They were less reliant on the spectacular.
Until they reached Texas, Mbappe, Ousmane Dembele and Michael Olise had obliged; against Senegal, Iraq, Norway and Sweden, and then in a six-minute burst against Morocco. It illustrated that France possessed attacking talent of the highest quality in greater depth than anyone else. Olise was outstanding in the first four games, when France scored 13 goals; less so in the last three, when they got three. Dembele, after his 2022 World Cup ended so ignominiously, proved there were second acts in Deschamps' France, with five goals. Mbappe delivered in every match, except against Spain, before pointing the finger elsewhere in the aftermath of this comprehensive loss.
For much of his tenure, Deschamps was deemed a dullard; maybe unfairly, given his sides have scored four and three in World Cup finals. At the last, and even as France barely threatened the Spain goal, he may have perished by being too adventurous. It was obvious to anyone watching last Monday night's World Cup Round of 16 game between the U.S. and Belgium that the Folarin Balogun red-card suspension controversy helped one team — and hurt the other.
Although the team tried to downplay the impact of the presidential effort to suspend Balogun's one-game suspension in the immediate aftermath of the game, Balogun admitted on Tuesday that it had an impact on the players.
“When I kind of started to reflect, I knew it was going to cause a lot of controversy and I could almost see within my teammates a bit of nerves because it’s something that’s so unique," Balogun said in an appearance on CBS This Morning, via Sports Business Journal.
"The closer we got to the game, I tried to just focus as best as I could," Balogun said. "But it was difficult. A lot of outside noise, and that’s hard to avoid."
It was more than a lot of noise. The sudden reversal, ostensibly decided by FIFA's Disciplinary Committee but reportedly handled by one person, was largely unprecedented. It shifted the chip on the U.S. shoulder from an unwarranted red card to Belgium for the unwarranted erasure of its consequences.

LAS VEGAS -- Brooklyn Nets rookie guard Mikel Brown Jr. came into the 2026 NBA Draft with a penchant for making exciting plays with the ball in his hands. Brooklyn has been trying to replenish the guard depth of the team through the draft and while many fans have plenty of applause for how Brown plays the game, he explains that his approach to the game is pretty simple.
"I really do feel like it just starts at the beginning. Seeing my teammates, getting them open shots as well, seeing the ball go through the hoop obviously gets you going as well," Brown said to the media following a 91-65 win over the New York Knicks on Friday in the Las Vegas Summer League. Brown finished the contest with 20 points and three **** ists while shooting 6-of-12 from the field and 3-of-6 from behind the three-point line.
"But like I said before, man, I really know how much work I put in to get to this point and picking my spots," Brown continued while making the distinction that he's just playing his game, not looking to be flashy. "The oohs and ahs are coming just because that's just how I play."
Brown, 20, will be vying for playing time heading into the 2026-27 season, but the summer league is where the No. 6 overall pick can show what he's made of. Brown also put forth his production in just 22 minutes of playing, showing that his condition is improving despite dealing with the aftermath of his back injury. The hope is that Brown's health will continue to improve so that he can continue to get better.
It appears that Brown is one of the guards that the Nets are expecting to be a huge part of the future, along with players like guard Egor Demin and forward Danny Wolf, just to name a couple. Brown has built up the reputation of being a player that can make exciting plays out of nowhere, but he made it clear that his game is all about substance, with some flash thrown in there at times.

Just a couple seasons ago, Labaron Philon Jr. and Johni Broome were foes as Alabama faced Auburn in the Iron Bowl of basketball.
Now, the two are teammates.
Broome has been with the Philadelphia 76ers since he was drafted 35th overall last year, but Philon became the organization's latest rookie addition as the 22nd overall pick in June.
The unlikely duo fed off of each other in Philon's NBA Summer League debut. As the man from Mobile dropped 18 points and dished out a team-best seven **** ists, Broome came through with 19 points and 13 rebounds.
In the aftermath of the 101-93 win over the Detroit Pistons on Thursday, July 9, an unexpected reporter squeezed his way into Broome's media scrum.

Jordan Henderson will miss the rest of the World Cup after breaking his arm in an accidental fall during England's postgame celebrations in Mexico City.
The 36-year-old midfielder slipped while hopping over an advertising board and came down hard trying to brace his fall. Teammates immediately called for medical attention and Henderson was stretchered off in the aftermath of the 3-2 win. He was taken to the hospital and briefly had to stay behind in Mexico as the team returned to base camp in Kansas City.
Henderson underwent surgery and while the former Liverpool captain won't play again in this World Cup, he's staying with the team for its knockout run. A veteran with 91 career appearances for the national team, Henderson was photographed sitting with coaches watching training on Friday.
Harry Kane scored twice in the second half as England escaped DR Congo 2-1 and advanced to the World Cup round of 16 against Mexico.

Earlier this offseason, the Georgia Bulldogs cancelled a future nonconference series in 2027 and 2028 with the Florida State Seminoles. Now, Georgia football is cancelling a game with another college program from Tallahassee, Florida. Georgia cancelled the 2028 game against the Florida A&M Rattlers, who are a Football Championship Subdivision (FCS) team.
Georgia and Florida A&M mutually agreed to cancel the game. Georgia and Florida A&M have never played in school history. With the SEC expanding to nine conference games, Georgia has had to cancel some future games along with several other SEC programs.
The Bulldogs are still scheduled to play Georgia Tech annually for the foreseeable future, so that leaves Georgia with two open nonconference games per season. Georgia is likely to always schedule one easy FCS or Group of Five opponent for at least one of those games.
Georgia has also cancelled future nonconference games with NC State and Louisville in the aftermath of the expanded SEC schedule. Georgia and Florida State are still working to play each other at a neutral site in 2028 with Nashville, Tennessee, being the most likely venue. A Georgia-Florida State game is yet to be officially announced. The Bulldogs are also seeking to schedule a future game with Louisville.

Now, I have never met anyone who has a standing "no weddings or funerals" policy. That seems like something that wouldn't sit well with a lot of people. On the other hand, Barkley surely diverts a lot of attention from where it should be at those events so one can see how a person comes to that way of thinking.
As for his pre-event belief that the whole thing would be a circus, he's certainly not wrong. Though it must be said that by all reports things went very smoothly and a good time was had by all. Barkley will have to come to terms with passing up his one and only opportunity to be in the same room as Paul McCartney and Dean Blandino.

Aldeguer can only fall further behind, feeding into the growing points gap that decides seasons, because there's no bike for him to score with.

WASHINGTON (AP) — President Donald Trump on Monday sought to take credit for recent price cuts by Walmart, but a statement by the retailer made no mention of the administration's involvement in its decision.
The president has faced public backlash over inflation rising during his watch, as prices climbed initially in the aftermath of his tariffs and later with the start of the Iran war in late February. Trump described a recent bipartisan measure to trim housing costs as "a yawn" and tried to blame the Democrats for inflation staying elevated.
Going into the November midterm elections for control of Congress, Trump has sought to deride Democrats as communists who would have the government interfere with private companies. But in his social media post about Walmart, he said the business had trimmed prices at the specific request of his administration.
"I have just been informed that one of the biggest, best, and smartest Retailers in America, Walmart, will be lowering prices, by a lot, at my Administration's request to celebrate our great Country's 250th birthday," Trump said. "Walmart will, in particular, be dropping the price for a pound of ground beef by almost 15%, among many other products."
Walmart has benefited in part from higher inflation under Trump, as consumers have turned to its stores and website in search of lower prices, according to its quarterly earnings released in May.

SEATTLE (AP) — Shortly after Romelu Lukaku scored the goal that capped a commanding 4-1 win over the United States, Belgium's all-time leading goal scorer held his right hand to his ear.
On American soil, and in the aftermath of star U.S. forward Folarin Balogun being permitted to play after a one-game red-card suspension was controversially lifted by FIFA, Lukaku egged on the crowd of 66,925 at Lumen Field. The Red Devils then took to social media to poke more fun in light of what they considered no laughing matter, posting above the photo the words: "Overturn this."
"There's always a justice somewhere in life," Belgian midfielder Nicolas Raskin said. "The fact that something happened like that, we don't think that was fair. And today, I think it just brings us a little bit of (motivation) that we needed to win the game."
The Belgian soccer federation wanted an explanation from FIFA about the decision to let Balogun play. Many of Belgium's players, though, insisted they didn't need any additional motivation for Monday's match.
Belgium extended its unbeaten streak to 18 games, and knocked out the U.S. in the round of 16 for the second time in 12 years.

Originally banned for one match after being dismissed in last week's game, Balogun was reinstated by the FIFA Disciplinary Committee, allowed to take part in the Round of 16 match against Belgium on Monday.

Head coach Charlotte Edwards says England have "won back the fans" despite a heavy defeat by Australia in the Women's T20 World Cup final.
