The stock market took a beating this week as the major AI and chipmaking names dropped. Having propped up the market for months — even years — the AI industry dragged it down this past week.
However, that didn't stop these five companies from showing resilience.
Payments player Flywire got a boost from an offer to acquire its competitor PayPal. International Seaways gained on the back of renewed tensions in the Middle East. Snowflake (SNOW) is among a handful of software names standing out.
The trucking juggernaut J.B. Hunt continued its superb run this year with strong earnings. In addition to its own individual successes, investors could consider J.B. Hunt the quintessential "HALO trade" stock, used to hedge against AI.
Finally, chip-gear maker ASML largely bucked the AI sell-off on strong earnings and guidance.
