Portland Thorns and USWNT midfielder Olivia Moultrie suffered an ACL injury to her right knee in training last week and has been ruled out for the remainder of the NWSL season.
The 20-year-old Moultrie, who joined the Thorns in 2021 and has made 79 starts for the club, has been placed on the Season-Ending Injury (SEI) list. Through 16 games this season, she scored five goals and registered five ******* ists.
"Olivia is one of the most driven players I have been around, and she will use that drive during her recovery and rehabilitation," said Thorns president and general manager of soccer operations Jeff Agoos. "She has our full support and every resource this club can put behind her."
Internationally, Moultrie has represented the United States 18 times since getting her first call up in 2023. She has scored five times in three USWNT victories.
The injury will also keep Moultrie out of the Concacaf Women's Championship, which will begin in November in Texas. That tournament will act as the qualifying process for the 2027 Women's World Cup in Brazil next summer and the 2028 Olympics in Los Angeles.
