Sky Sports' Ted Kravitz gave a rare sneak inside the F1 drivers' briefing room in Madrid for the Spanish GP, as FIA lists changes to Madring circuit after the meet.
Like the earlier years of F1, footage from drivers' briefing was back online in 2017 season when Formula One Management allowed snippet to be posted on its Youtube channel with the late Charlie Whiting as the FIA race director. It was done for few rounds, starting in Monaco.
After its success, the footage was broadcasted in races like Malaysia, ****** an, Austin and Mexico. But it was discontinued from 2018 onward due to breach of sanctity of discussions that the F1 drivers think should be private between them and the FIA, its race director.
They wanted to speak with an open mind in the form and not let it out in public to create fan wars and unwarranted interpretations. Since then, no footage has been made available, although the discussions that takes place often gets around in the media, especially if there are some long discussions.
Even photographs are rare in current times, but Sky Sports reporter Ted Kravitz gave a rare sneak into the F1 drivers' briefing room in Madrid for the Spanish GP, during his Friday ****** ysis show. The few seconds captured old teammates seated together interacting with each other.

The biggest oil companies in the United States are playing hardball in unionized labor negotiations in a bid to get more concessions from workers' unions in the new contracts.
Over the past few years, some of the top U.S. refining companies have resorted to lockouts to ensure most of the company management's proposals in new labor contracts are accepted.
The trend began earlier this decade with Exxon locking out in 2021 as many as 650 workers out of the Beaumont refinery for 10 months. This was the longest labor dispute at a U.S. refinery in four decades.
Five years later, BP and Marathon are currently in a similar position, locking out workers at their Whiting, Indiana, and Martinez, California, refineries, respectively, amid labor disputes over union contracts.
The refineries continue to operate with contractors, supervisors, and replacement workers. The continued operations show that Big Oil is not as afraid as it used to be to use replacement staff while seeking concessions from the unions.

Sep. 2—BEMIDJI — When looking at the singles side of the Bemidji High School tennis courts, the home fans would be forgiven if they thought Wednesday's match against Staples-Motley took place in 2025.
For much of this season, the Lumberjacks' singles lineup has carried over from last fall. Liz Peterson occupies the top spot, while Lilly Caron and Bailey Rupp typically play Nos. 2 and 3 singles, save for their occasional doubles appearances. Natalie ****** berg rounds out the group at No. 4 singles, just as she did on Wednesday in the Jacks' 6-1 win over the Cardinals.
The real differences so far in the young 2026 season have been on the doubles side of the court. With the departures of Megan Berg, Naomi Johnson and Abby Myhrer, almost every doubles pair had to be retooled for 2026.
Junior Kelli Carlson has been moved up to No. 2, paired with eighth-grader Piper Whiting. Freshmen Norah Friese and Emma Carlson are gaining experience at the No. 3 spot.
Then there are seniors Zoe McNallan and Millie Knott, who have known each other even before they became partners on the tennis court.

If this Nashville SC team holds on to win the MLS Supporters' Shield, results like the one on Aug. 22 might be the reason.
Nashville scored two goals in stoppage time — one by Reed Baker-Whiting and one by Andy Najar — to resurrect a 3-2 win over the Columbus Crew from almost certain defeat.
"That was one for the memory books for sure," midfielder Patrick Yazbek said.
After Nashville saw its 1-0 halftime lead disappear in a 10-minute span in the second half, it looked like a draw was the best-case scenario. And when Baker-Whiting eventually delivered the equalizer off a corner kick in the 93rd minute, you could make out a breath of relief from the 27,000 plus crowd at Geodis Park, knowing Nashville SC had avoided a home loss to 12th-place Columbus.
But then, a true stunner. Nashville advanced quickly up the field, catching Columbus on its back heels, and Najar launched a low drive into the far corner to take an improbable lead.

STILLWATER — Spring was a strange time for Stailee Heard.
OSU women's basketball was fresh off its first NCAA Tournament win in five seasons, yet all the Cowgirls who contributed to that run were gone. All but one. All but Heard, the senior from Sapulpa.
Micah Gray and Haleigh Timmer had graduated. Achol Akot (North Carolina) and Jadyn Wooten (TCU) had transferred. So had Amari Whiting (Iowa) and Lena Girardi (Utah).
Even Heard's little sister, Tyla, had transferred (Akron).
But Heard remained in Stillwater.

BP said its second-quarter results are expected to benefit from significantly stronger oil realizations and refining margins, even as upstream production falls because of seasonal maintenance and supply disruptions in the Middle East.
In a trading update released ahead of its Aug. 4 earnings report, the company forecast reported upstream production of 2.17 million to 2.22 million barrels of oil equivalent per day (boe/d), down from 2.339 million boe/d in the first quarter. The decline reflects planned maintenance, primarily in the Gulf of America, along with the ongoing impact of disruptions in the Middle East. Gas and low-carbon energy production is expected to reach 750,000-770,000 boe/d, while oil production and operations are forecast at 1.42 million-1.45 million boe/d.
Despite lower output, BP expects higher commodity prices to provide a substantial earnings boost. Oil production and operations realizations are projected to improve underlying replacement cost profit before interest and tax by $1.8 billion to $2.1 billion compared with the first quarter, while gas and low-carbon energy realizations are expected to contribute an additional $500 million to $700 million. Gas marketing and trading results are expected to remain broadly unchanged quarter over quarter.
The customers and products segment is also expected to benefit from stronger market conditions. BP forecasts seasonally higher fuel volumes, improved fuel margins, and refining gains of $1.2 billion to $1.4 billion. Refinery throughput is expected to decline to 1.445 million-1.475 million barrels per day due to planned turnaround activity and reduced volumes at the Whiting refinery following an April third-party incident that has since been resolved. Oil trading performance is expected to be slightly stronger than in the first quarter.
The company expects exploration write-offs of about $500 million during the quarter, largely related to the sale of its Bay du Nord project in Canada. Second-quarter results are also expected to include approximately $1 billion in post-tax impairment charges, primarily linked to transition businesses within its gas and low-carbon energy segment. These charges will be excluded from underlying replacement cost profit.

HACKENSACK — A street near Hackensack High School will be renamed in honor of Gordon “Scooter” Whiting, the beloved former Hackensack coach and athletic director who died in May.
The City Council voted Tuesday, June 16, to rename the intersection of Beech and Second streets as Gordon “Scooter” Whiting Way. The decision was met with applause from a packed council chambers filled with family, friends and former students.
“This is a well-deserved honor for the Whiting family. Scooter was a thoughtful, caring man who deeply loved Hackensack,” Mayor Caseen Gaines said. “He believed in this city, he believed in its people, and he always believed our shared future could be better if we worked together toward it, as a community.”
Story continues below photo gallery.
Whiting died at age 58 on May 15, just two days after the city Board of Education had accepted his retirement.
