New England Patriots rookies' jerseys will have a special addition on them when they take the field for the first time this season.
According to ESPN's Adam Schefter, beginning this season, the NFL's rookies will wear Topps' Debut Patches on their jerseys in their respective debuts, before the patches are placed in one-of-one trading cards after their first games conclude.
Topps returned to the NFL during the spring, as their parent company Fanatics, as well as the NFL and NFLPA, came together to make the famous brand the league's official trading card licensee. The Debut Patch commemorates the brand's return to the league.
The Patriots have several rookies generating much anticipation ahead of the season, including Gabe Jacas and Caleb Lomu, who will get to help Topps put themselves back on the NFL map on the biggest stage. They, along with the rest of New England's first-year players, will get the chance to wear the patches in their first game action in the upcoming 17-game slate.

David Davidov said he stood for 20 seconds in shocked silence when a longtime customers Facetimed him this summer to show off a once-in-a-lifetime prize that had come from his strip-mall store west of Boca Raton.
It was a unicorn in the world of baseball trading cards: a 2026 Shohei Ohtani Topps Chrome card, the only one made.
It features the Los Angeles Dodger's signature in both English and Kanji, characters used in the ***** anese writing system. In the center of the card there are two game worn Major League Baseball logo jersey patches marking Ohtani's consecutive National League MVP awards in 2024 and 2025.
It's become one of the world's most expensive sports cards. The person who scored the card later sold it to the online network Secure Collectibles for $11 million.
People come to Boca Sports Cards all the time to buy a pack of baseball cards, which can range from $7 to $500, but since the unicorn emerged, Davidov said his business, in the Sandalwood Plaza shopping center along State Road 7, has welcomed a revolving door of new and old customers and the phone hasn't stopped ringing as others hope to capture some magic of their own.

A one-of-a-kind Yoshinobu Yamamoto card has become the second-most expensive card of the Los Angeles Dodgers ace ever sold publicly.
The 2025 Topps Dynasty Autographed MLB Logo Patch card, featuring Yamamoto's signature and a game-used MLB Logoman patch, sold through Goldin for $196,400. The card is serial-numbered 1-of-1.
That price trails only the $461,160 paid in March 2026 for Yamamoto's 2024 Bowman Chrome Image Variation Autographs Superfractor rookie card. That card, also a 1-of-1, was graded BGS Mint 9 and drew 50 bids at Goldin.
For collectors, the latest result provides another indication that Yamamoto has moved into a different tier of the modern baseball card market.
The appeal of the Topps Dynasty card is easy to see.

Liverpool enter the new season in a state familiar to all major clubs and yet uniquely tense when it happens at Anfield, poised between memory and reinvention, between the authority of what came before and the uncertainty of what comes next. In an interview with GiveMeSport, Robbie Fowler believes that uncertainty can become opportunity, particularly under Andoni Iraola, whose appointment has brought the promise of energy, aggression and a more direct sort of ambition.
Fowler's remarks, made at the launch of the Topps Flagship Premier League 2026/27 collection, sketched out an intriguing picture of where Liverpool might be headed. There was realism in it, because there had to be. Liverpool have changed manager, changed shape as a squad, and changed, too, in the wider imagination of the Premier League. Arne Slot's **** le-winning first season in 2024/25 now feels a long way away after the collapse of 2025/26 and the upheaval that followed. Iraola arrives with a reputation for intensity and coherence, but also with the burden that attends any coach stepping into one of English football's most exacting jobs.
Fowler sounded energised by that prospect. "I mean, the obvious one is Liverpool," he said.
There is a telling simplicity in that answer. For all the noise that accompanies transition, Liverpool remain compelling because they have chosen a coach with a clear identity. Iraola's Bournemouth side played with courage and without apology. They pressed hard, moved the ball forward early and asked questions of opponents before those opponents had settled into their own patterns. That sort of football can stir a crowd quickly. At Liverpool, where emotional momentum can become tactical momentum, it may matter more than most.
Fowler's **** sment of Iraola was shaped by the same qualities many observers admired at Bournemouth. "Probably excited, actually. When I watched Bournemouth last year, I think they were obviously a team who were easy on the eye, they were very attack-minded, the press was brilliant. So how they play the game is probably the way I want to see a team."

Let the bidding begin.
A coveted, one-of-one autographed Cooper Flagg NBA Debut Patch card with a bounty on it appears to have been pulled.
Topps, the producer of the card, shared an image on social media Monday night of the card being pulled by a Rhode Island collectibles streamer called "RhodyBreakers."
Video of the reveal was also shared on social media.
Why does this matter? The Flagg card is one of the most anticipated in modern collectibles history — so much that Flagg's Dallas Mavericks have put a bounty on it to claim it as their own.

Ed Mailliard has been to more fanciful places than Latrobe, Pennsylvania, in his illustrious 50-year career as a sports media member.
That's not to say Saint Vincent College, home of the Pittsburgh Steelers' training camp for 60 years now, is beneath Mailliard. It's quite the opposite, in fact.
Mailliard, a Meadville native, has spent 40 years as a sports photographer. His most recognizable work can be seen on Topps' trading cards for the MLB's spring training, which he has been doing since 1987. But Malliard's sports career began long before those iconic photos.
It started in 1972, when Mailliard began working for the Meadville Tribune as a sportswriter. He retired from the Tribune in 2013, but he stayed active in the local sports scene by continuing to shoot photos for Allegheny College other local schools.
Over the course of 54 years, Mailliard has been promoting local athletes through his photography work. His roots are deep in the Crawford County Area and his passion for Allegheny College athletics is what brought him to Saint Vincent College on Tuesday.

Paul messaged the sweepstakes winners, and James posted the news on social media in a shared story with Topps featuring an image of him in a white No. 23 Sixers uniform next to an autographed 1-of-1 trading card -- making history as the first athlete to monetize his or her free agency that way. "And then he put his phone down and didn't take any calls," a source close to James said.

Big news in the sports world this week as LeBron James finally made his decision about where he is going to play next year, and as you know he decided on the Philadelphia 76ers. So, what does that mean for his sports card and collectibles market?
Shrug emoji.
His cards were already starting to go up-up-up over the last few weeks or so in anticipation of not only his latest decision but in response to the massive Michael Jordan and Kobe Bryant card market boom that has happened in the last few months. It seemed only right that the nostalgia and fomo would carry into the LeBron market.
And while many of his flagship Topps rookie cards are in the thousands of dollars, there are still some fun LeBron collectibles on the market that I think are worth grabbing and holding for the long run.
The Campioni di Futuro (mini) rookie card is maybe my all-time favorite. It's odd, it's adorable and it's under $100 for a raw. There's also numbered and different color variations, and while it may not bring you generational wealth, it certainly remains relatively rare for a LeBron rookie.

AJ Dybantsa had a short yet amazing message on his first-ever NBA rookie card.
The 2026 NBA Draft kicked off with the Washington Wizards selecting former BYU Cougars star AJ Dybantsa with the first overall pick.
Dybantsa is viewed as one of the most touted rookies in recent years, but on draft night, he made headlines for something entirely different than his on-court skills.
In the modern era, the NBA stars’ licensed trading cards market has exploded, with the right card fetching a large sum of money from collectors.
Keeping that in mind, Dybantsa’s rookie card is expected to be sold for a huge amount of money. Speaking of the card, Topps’ official X handle revealed Dybantsa’s message on his rookie card.
