Portsmouth boss John Mousinho has eased concerns over Jayden Meghoma after the defender was forced off during his side's win over Cardiff.
The Brentford loanee impressed on his Pompey debut before being replaced after 65 minutes.
But Mousinho confirmed the 20-year-old was suffering from cramp.
"Jayden was excellent," Mousinho told Portsmouth News. "He showed some really good glimpses in the first half of how he can drive away from players and what he gives you in the final third.
"The temptation is to say he's an attacking full-back, but he is very, very good defensively as well in the one-v-one.

I like doing statistical ****** ysis for two primary reasons. There are two main biases that it combats and we are all prey to those biases at one time or another. The first form of bias is what I would call immediacy bias. A great example of that is the string of short starts that the Astros are currently going through. The temptation is to ****** ume that this has been constant throughout the season when that is almost never the case. There are ebbs and flows to these things, so looking at overall numbers can help us combat that bias.
The second bias is a local bias. We watch the Astros. Some of us watch them religiously. So, when we are watching one team 162 times a season and the other teams maybe a handful of times, it is easy to look at what your local group is doing and ****** ume that it is either really good or really bad. We simply don't have anything to compare it to. This becomes important when we are looking at relative strengths and weaknesses of a team. This can come into play in terms of game to game strategy or long-term questions about how the team should be structured.

How does a University of Wisconsin grad from Illinois, who spent a huge chunk of his coaching life in Ohio, end up looking like the next big thing coach at a place like San Diego State?
And how does he do it by going against what made him a hot name in the first place?
Lewis didn't do much as a tight end for the Badgers, but he quickly grew into a rising star coach with an offensive style that went fast, fast, fast.
At just 31, he took over a woeful Kent State program and turned it into a winner with a bowl victory in 2019. His offense went 1000 miles per hour, made everyone adjust, and it was what Deion Sanders wanted at Colorado.
Lewis was in Boulder for just one season, left to become the head coach at San Diego State, and the results weren't great in a 3-9 season. Last year, though, his offense was okay, but the defense was one of the best in the nation.
Now, at 40, he's one more great season away from getting a long look from the big programs. Here's our interview with the Aztec head coach going into the 2026 season.

CFN: How outside of the box is San Diego State football-wise compared to Wisconsin, Kent State, and everywhere else you've been?
Sean Lewis: It was certainly different.
Yeah, I mean, it's funny. The first year, you think it's going to be wildly different and probably try to be more West Coast than Midwest in some ways, and then you realize that, no, we all do the same thing. Like, these guys just need discipline, some structure, and be good to go.
You, the FlashFast-turned-AztecFast offensive coach – where did that defense come from last year? (The Aztecs finished sixth in the nation in scoring defense and 11th in total defense, but those numbers are a bit skewed with almost all of its stars gone before the wild bowl loss to North Texas.)
It's San Diego, you think, groovy and surfers, but Rocky Long had some amazing defenses in his era. And there's what (Brian) Dutcher does with the hoops side – they're at a whole other level. This is a hard-nosed place. I think that's what we are; it's something we learned, and it's kind of this double-edged sword.
You can recruit anywhere because of how amazing this place is. But you better make sure the person you're bringing in is wired the right way so that they're not distracted by the temptations. And so having a hard-nosed, focused individual is really important to us.
Having great discipline, being a physical team, and doing hard things in the offseason the way that we do does have a balance. This past Friday we went to the beach – we always do the things San Diego has to offer to balance out the hard stuff, but I think how we go about it to do things in a way that's uniquely special.
And then the individuals that we get to rub shoulders with are also very unique. So, yeah, it's a special place.

The temptation after one preseason game is to treat every depth-chart movement as a major development. The New York Jets would probably caution against that.
The Jets opened their preseason schedule against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and one of the many things that stood out immediately was that Isaiah Williams took the field with Garrett Wilson and Adonai Mitchell as the starting wide receiver trio.
The alignment suggested Williams currently sits ahead of first-round pick Omar Cooper Jr. in the wide receiver rotation, a notable development considering where each player entered training camp. Aaron Donald continues to work out as he contemplates coming out of retirement, training both privately at the Los Angeles Rams' facility and at home in videos that he's been posting on Instagram.
Drew Brees has seen some of the workouts Donald has posted and it leaves no doubt in his mind that the All-Pro pass rusher could realistically return to the Rams. In an interview with USA TODAY Sports, Brees said he "absolutely" thinks there's a real chance Donald comes back because of the favorable situation he'd be put in.
"I do. I absolutely do," Brees said. "I absolutely do because first off, I've watched the guy on Instagram and he looks like he's staying in pretty good shape. I mean, I'm still pretty scared of him," Brees said. "For him to sit there and go, 'Wait a minute, you mean I can come back, I don't have to play a full game, I can play between 20, 25 snaps a game, it's always going to be a pass rush, I'm always going to be matched up against the worst offensive lineman and all the attention is going to Myles Garrett and some of these other monsters up there? Like, yeah, why not?' And truly make a Super Bowl run, I think that temptation might be too much for him to pass up."

I talked about position dynamics and their related injuries with Dr. Zafar Iqbal, who until recently led sports medicine at ******* nal with a 21-year record consulting in sports and exercise medicine.
The keeper is the only player allowed to use their hands, and pays for it up top. “Goalkeepers face a significantly higher risk of upper limb injuries than outfield players because of the repeated high force impacts involved in blocking, catching, and punching the ball,” says Iqbal. “These actions place substantial stress on the fingers, wrists, elbows, and shoulders.” The usual casualties are sprained, dislocated and broken fingers, and “it’s rare to meet a professional goalkeeper who hasn’t experienced at least one such injury,” he admits. His advice for the weekend warrior: “Protecting your hands as a recreational goalkeeper starts with using appropriate, well-fitted gloves that provide adequate padding and grip.” A finger that swells, weakens or stops bending is one to get checked, not to tape up.
Defenders live in contact. They are particularly ******* e to lower‑limb injuries, which may occur through side tackles or overuse. Sure, the Stanley Cup has been awarded and the NHL Draft has passed, but the last major event on the seasonal NHL calendar is the start of free agency on July 1. We've seen NHL general managers active on the trade front ahead of — and during — the draft, but with a thin pool of restricted and unrestricted free agents to choose from this year, it's hard to say just how much activity there will be on Wednesday and beyond.
Still, the NHL's salary cap will rise to $104 million next season, which means there will be even more room for teams to make major deals as the league's growth continues. Grand Theft Auto VI pre-orders opened at midnight on June 25, and the most anticipated video game in history now has a firm launch date: November 19, 2026.
The immediate temptation for investors is obvious. This is the biggest upcoming entertainment launch of the decade — Grand Theft Auto as a franchise has sold north of 470 million copies (1). And Rockstar is already guiding to record revenue. Surely the move is to buy Take-Two Interactive (NASDAQ:TTWO) and ride the wave, right?
History shows it's not such a simple slam dunk.
Even Take-Two's CEO is uneasy. Strauss Zelnick has called the launch "terrifying" because the expectations are so high.
Take-Two stock rallied in the week leading up to pre-orders. Then it fell nearly 3% (2) the moment they actually opened. A standard edition priced at $79.99 came in below the $90-to-$100 some bulls had hoped for, and short-term traders did what they almost always do when there's a confirmed catalyst: they took profits and left. Unconfirmed reports put first-day pre-orders as high as 39 million and $3 billion in revenue — numbers neither Take-Two nor Rockstar has confirmed. The stock fell anyway.

He now stands to lose millions, if he's convicted on eight total charges relating to an armed robbery and kidnapping in Florida. Or if he's simply ordered to remain behind bars while the case proceeds to trial.
Obviously, the biggest loss would be his freedom — for however long he is incarcerated. Arnold's status as a 2024 first-round pick makes it a very expensive proposition to be unavailable to play during either of the final two years of his rookie deal.
The slotted first-round contract he signed in 2024 has a total value of $13.343 million. He's due to make $2.098 million in 2026 and $2.75 million in 2027.
Arnold, who has strongly denied the allegations, also received a signing bonus of $7.251 million. The Lions could recover half of that amount ($3.6255 million), if he's not available for the next two seasons. If he misses all of 2026, he'd owe $1.812 million.
To recover a portion of Arnold's signing bonus, the Lions will need to resist the temptation to void his guarantees and cut him. The Falcons, for example, kept Mike Vick on the roster throughout his incarceration for dogfighting in order to later recover a portion of his signing bonus. Michael Caine has "narrated" a new audiobook using an AI clone of his voice.
The Oscar-winning actor licensed his distinctive voice to an AI audio company, which is now publishing a new audiobook of Homer's ancient Greek epic, The Odyssey.
"The Odyssey is one of the greatest stories ever told," Michael, 93, said in a statement.
"For nearly three millennia, its themes of perseverance, loyalty, temptation, and the enduring call of home have resonated across cultures and generations."
A 13-hour "cinematic" production, the audiobook features a "full cast" of AI-powered voices, alongside a musical score and elaborate sound effects.
Despite its complex nature, the project reportedly took only six weeks from the start of production to its completion.

NEW DELHI: South African batting legend AB de Villiers has thrown his weight behind India's decision to hand teenage sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi his maiden international call-up, describing the selectors' move as both "the right call" and a "brave decision".
The 15-year-old made history on Saturday when he was named in India's squads for the tours of Ireland and England and the Asian Games, becoming the youngest player ever selected for the national side and eclipsing the mark set by Sachin Tendulkar in 1989.
Speaking at an event in Mumbai, de Villiers said the selectors deserved credit for resisting the temptation to opt for experience.
"It's definitely the right call from the selectors. So well done to them for making the brave decision. It would have been easy to say that he's still too young and he's not ready, and go for more experience. He's broken down that door, and he deserves his place in the Indian T20 team, so I'm happy for him," the former South African captain said.
While de Villiers refrained from making definitive predictions about Sooryavanshi's red-ball future, he expressed confidence that the youngster possesses the skill set to succeed across formats if he chooses that path.
"Yeah, he's a wonderful talent. The red-ball thing I absolutely cannot answer. I think he can if he wants to, but there's your answer, and there's the big question as well is does he really want to? Time will tell. There's no doubt he's got the talent and the ability to do so. It won't always be easy, and I've mentioned that a few times before," de Villiers said.

INDIANAPOLIS — The Colts initially thought it might be a long shot to get Daniel Jones into 7-on-7 work before the start of training camp.
There is no pass rush to avoid, obviously, but quarterbacks often roll out of the pocket in 7-on-7, “buying time” if the initial route or read is covered. Jones is still only six months removed from the torn Achilles tendon that effectively ended the Colts’ playoff hopes in 2025, and the temptation to roll out was always going to be there.
But then Jones started throwing to receivers at organized team activities, and he’s been seen running sprints and doing agility work with trainers after practices.
Indianapolis coach Shane Steichen decided it was time to let Jones progress to the next step. When the Colts opened their 7-on-7 session at the team’s organized team activity on Monday, Jones was the quarterback leading the starters.
“He's been throwing routes with the guys, and we just told him, ‘Don't scramble in 7-on-7s. Be smart in these situations. If it's not there, throw it out of bounds or if you want to drop it on the ground, I'm good with that too,’” Steichen said. “But yeah, he looked good out there today throwing with the guys.”
