The American Pro Football Hall of Fame announced revisions to its selection process on Friday, including trimming the selection committee from 50 to 28, to combat "unintended biases."
In changes that begin with consideration of the 2027 class, the selection committee also will return to in-person annual meetings to consider candidates for enshrinement of players, coaches and contributors.
"The Hall continually reviews its bylaws to ensure the selection process reflects the highest standards of integrity," Hall president Jim Porter said. "There is no more important task at the Hall of Fame than the election of each new class."
Porter said the changes came after a review that began 2.5 years ago but they also follow last February's controversial snub of former New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick, who won a record six Super Bowls as a head coach, in his first year of eligibility.
Porter said previous selection process bylaws left room for "unintended biases", including in the way individuals presented nominees, how selectors were ******* igned to each of the NFL's 32 clubs and issues related to players reaching the last year of eligibility in the Modern-Era Players category.

I like doing statistical ****** ysis for two primary reasons. There are two main biases that it combats and we are all prey to those biases at one time or another. The first form of bias is what I would call immediacy bias. A great example of that is the string of short starts that the Astros are currently going through. The temptation is to ****** ume that this has been constant throughout the season when that is almost never the case. There are ebbs and flows to these things, so looking at overall numbers can help us combat that bias.
The second bias is a local bias. We watch the Astros. Some of us watch them religiously. So, when we are watching one team 162 times a season and the other teams maybe a handful of times, it is easy to look at what your local group is doing and ****** ume that it is either really good or really bad. We simply don't have anything to compare it to. This becomes important when we are looking at relative strengths and weaknesses of a team. This can come into play in terms of game to game strategy or long-term questions about how the team should be structured.
We call this the lab because I like to start with observations that can be formed into a testable hypothesis. In this case, the hypothesis is that the Astros overly rely on their bullpen for innings because their starters do not go deep enough into games. We can test that simply by comparing them with the rest of the American League to see if that is true comparatively. We will start with the starting pitchers only in terms of innings pitched and ERA.

Comments from former Germany midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger about Ivory Coast's "wild" playing style could be considered racist, says their manager Emerse Fae.
Schweinsteiger, speaking before Germany beat Ivory Coast in their 2026 World Cup Group E match, said Fae's team were "a bit African football" and "not so conditioned by tactics".
Asked about these comments after Ivory Coast qualified for the World Cup knockouts for the first time in their history, Fae said he was disappointed by Schweinsteiger and suggested his comments were influenced by long-standing biases regarding African football.
"I think it's sad," Fae said after Ivory Coast's 2-0 win over Curacao in Philadelphia on Thursday, which secured second place in Group E.

A million followers, a hundred likes. Media and news industry is ripe for disruption. You all deserve to go out of business for being such rank partisans and failing to control your biases. Professional integrity has been abandoned and I don't know how you can come back from that

Some fields are brighten with biases of high voltage lime lights and some other fields including sports continue to remain even in search mode for bulbs and lamposts to get rid of darkness of narrowness!!!!!!
