At one of the oldest football grounds in the country, staff are facing a very modern challenge ahead of the new season.
Non-league Gainsborough Trinity have played at the Northolme since 1884, but the stadium lacks the modern irrigation enjoyed by teams higher up the football pyramid.
It means their pitch has suffered from the heat and dry weather this summer.
Head groundsman John Wood says when he started at the Lincolnshire club three decades ago, "it was just a hose out of the changing room".
"Now, we have six in-pitch sprinklers and 17 around the edge which have been on constantly.

An 18th Century windmill will be put on Historic England's at-risk register after years of neglect.
Ellis Mill in Lincoln, which was built in 1798, last operated fully in 2020, and has only opened to the public occasionally since then.
Historic England visited the mill in March and said it had "damp, damage to exterior brickwork and failing paintwork" on the wooden cap and sails.
Lincolnshire County Council, which owns the Grade I listed building, said it was considering options for its future and other windmills it owns.

The exact route for the 2026 Tour of Britain men's cycling race has been announced.
Riders will set off on 2 September, travelling through Lincolnshire, East Yorkshire and North Yorkshire, before finishing in Scotland on 6 September.
They will take on 565 miles (910km) of racing across the stages, with major ascents including the 656ft (200m) climb up the cobbles of Michaelgate in Lincoln.
Jonathan Day, director of events for British Cycling Ventures, said the team had designed a "fantastic route that will ignite the race and create a memorable spectacle for all involved".
The tour will start in Lincoln on Wednesday 2 September. It will be the first time the men's race has taken place in the city.

Prince George is now almost as tall as his mother, Princess Kate, as they stepped out together on Saturday.
The future king, 12, joined his mum, 44, as they visited the RAF Coningsby in Lincolnshire to honour Armed Forces Day.
Kate and George took turns sitting in the **** pit of various historic military aircraft during the trip. For the young prince, who is second in line to the throne, the moment offered an early glimpse of the military traditions and royal responsibilities he is expected to inherit as king.
But it was a photo of the pair standing next to each other that got royal fans talking as George is already nearly as tall as his mother.
One Instagram user commented on the video and wrote: "Excuse me but when did George become all grown up?" Another added: "Where the time flies, I was in high school when he was born!"
