The second injury report for the Raiders 2026 season is out. And it looks a lot like the first one. That is to say it looks exactly the same.
The same thing is actually good news for the Raiders. No new injuries or setbacks. Ashton Jeanty was once again a full participant, putting him on track to start Sunday against the Dolphins.
Of course Brock Bowers is still out, but that was expected as he had surgery to repair his meniscus this week and will miss at least the season opener, and possibly more, recovering.
For the Dolphins, LB Ronnie Harrison and TE Will Kacmarek were still limited.
One more injury report to come on Friday where we will get the final status of the players for both teams.

At long last, September is finally here! We made it, hockey fans. The Chicago Blackhawks play their opening game of the 2026-27 regular season later this month in Las Vegas, and training camp is only a couple of short weeks away. Hallelujah.
Before the Blackhawks' NHL roster starts gearing up for the season, a crop of young players will first kick things off with the 2026 prospect showcase, with practices beginning on Friday, Sept. 11. Former first-round picks Sacha Boisvert and Marek Vanacker headline the Hawks' group of prospects set to face the St. Louis Blues at the showcase.
More in the links for the complete 22-player roster and the event's full schedule, with the Blackhawks hosting the Blues in Chicago.
Around the league, Bill Guerin's notable comments regarding negotiations with Quinn Hughes, a potential shake-up for Hockey Night in Canada, and more updates on another expansion franchise in Texas.
All that & more in the Daily!

The Miami Dolphins drafted 13 rookies from this past April's NFL Draft. Hitting nearly every area of need, general manager Jon-Eric Sullivan had a clear vision of adding certain types of players both offensively and defensively. While many judge performance on the almighty stat, one rookie could become an extremely valuable player immediately for Miami and showed why on Friday night against the Washington Commanders.
Third-round pick (No. 87 overall) tight end Will Kacmarek, from Ohio State, was met with certain shock by many within the Dolphins community. However, when looking at the trend of NFL teams selecting blocking tight ends lately, Kacmarek is arguably one of the best in the 2026 class.
That blocking ability was on display Friday, as Kacmarek did his job very effectively against the Commanders. In a great breakdown on social media, Kacmarek showed why he was selected as a top-90 player.
As Sullivan indicated when becoming Miami's general manager, his goal was to add a tough and physical identity to the Dolphins. He told South Florida reporters his job is to give head coach Jeff Hafley, "the kind of guys that want to chase championships, that are selfless, that are mentally and physically tough, who have a burning desire to be the best football players that they can be."
Sullivan hit the nail on the head here, and after he drafted Kacmarek, he told the media, "His teammates are going to follow him, and he brings a physicality and a toughness to his craft that I think is unmatched."

The John Mackey Award has been around since 2000 and is handed out by the Nassau County Sports Commission annually to college football's most outstanding tight end. With a bunch of preseason college football award watch lists being unveiled recently, the Mackey Award got in on all of the fun, with an Ohio State tight end landing on the preseason watch list.
To be frank, Ohio State has not been known for tight ends during its illustrious history, but this year, many believe Northwestern transfer Hunter Welcing could be a good one. He was an All-Big Ten Honorable Mention last season and will be entering his Redshirt Senior campaign after transferring to Ohio State.
Last year, Welcing tallied 28 catches for 296 yards (10.6 avg.) and two touchdowns to lead the tight end position in Evanston. Nate Roberts is projected by many to be the starting tight end for OSU, but the experience of Welcing could win out, especially with the loss of Max Klare and Will Kacmarek, who are now both in the NFL. And don't worry, Buckeye fans, if Roberts does grab the starting nod and receive a bigger volume of time, he could be added to the watch list later in the season.
In the meantime, though, there's no doubt Welcing will be in the rotation with his size, experience, and ability.
Ohio State has never had a John Mackey Award recipient, since it is arguably the best at producing elite wide receivers in the entire country, but it would be nice to get the recognition when the John Mackey Award is announced on December 11 during ESPN's Home Depot College Football Awards Show.

Ohio State's tight end room looks completely different entering 2026, but that doesn't mean the position is any weaker. In fact, there is a strong argument that it is deeper than it has been in years.
Gone are Max Klare, Will Kacmarek, and Jelani Thurman. Together, they accounted for virtually every meaningful snap at tight end over the last two seasons. Replacing that experience was never going to come from one player.
Instead, Ryan Day attacked the position by **** embling a room where every player has a defined role, and together, they may give the Buckeyes more flexibility than they've had in a long time.
The hierarchy entering fall camp appears fairly straightforward. Nate Roberts projects as the clear TE1. Mason Williams looks like the favorite for TE2. Behind them, Hunter Welcing and Bennett Christian are battling for rotational snaps, while Maxence LeBlanc and Brody Lennon continue developing as future contributors.
The names may not yet carry the same national recognition as previous Ohio State tight end rooms, but the fit of each player within Arthur Smith and Ryan Day's offense makes this group one of the more fascinating position battles on the roster.

Dylan Larkin's future with the Detroit Red Wings remains uncertain, but one NHL ***** yst believes Steve Yzerman's departure has reopened the conversation.
Speaking on The Sheet with Jeff Marek, Red Wings writer Max Bultman said there is now a better chance of Larkin staying. However, he stressed that the next general manager must present a convincing plan to make Detroit competitive again.
"I would say more than there was before, but I think a lot of it still depends so much on who the new person is and what kind of vision they want to sell," Bultman said.
MORE: Maple Leafs' No. 1 pick Gavin McKenna already embracing life in Toronto
Bultman also questioned whether Detroit's current roster is capable of keeping pace in the Eastern Conference.

After working on the practice fields at their Baptist Health Training Complex on Wednesday and Thursday, the Miami Dolphins were back out their Friday morning for their final training camp session of the week.
Miami will be off on Saturday before returning to action on Sunday, with fans in attendance. However, before we get there, let's talk about everything that happened at Day 3 of Dolphins training camp, according to the beat writers on the scene.
The Dolphins had perfect attendance on Friday again, as their only absences were wide receiver Chris Bell (NFI) and cornerbacks Darrell Baker Jr. (PUP) and Storm Duck (PUP), per the South Florida Sun-Sentinel's David Furones.
After the offense struggled on Day 2, they bounced back a bit on Friday. Multiple reporters noted that rookie wide receiver Caleb Douglas made multiple impressive plays, including a one-handed grab for a touchdown. That may be very important, especially with Tutu Atwell's hands popping up as an issue on Thursday.
Speaking of problems catching the ball, rookie tight end Will Kacmarek had a ball bounce of his hands into the arms of a waiting defender, according to the Palm Beach Post's Joe Schad. This has been an issue for a few players early on.

When the Twins selected him with the 16th overall pick last July, Marek Houston was seen by most scouts as a lock to stick shortstop with elite defensive talent, but a fringy bat that projects for below average production in the major leagues. Just 27 games into his Double-A tenure, Houston is already producing offense at a high level, boasting a .325 batting average with a 135 wRC+. As he begins to pop up on top 100 prospect lists, there is a growing belief that his bat has a chance to provide some real impact for the Twins.
Standing at 6'3", Marek is a twitchy and fluid athlete. He is a plus runner, nabbing 38 bags so far this season while being caught just 4 times. He has an excellent approach at the plate. Very patient hitter who is running a chase rate around 17% this season with above-average walk rates. His swing mechanics have remained largely unchanged from his time at Wake Forest. The pre-swing hand load and leg kick is a little loud, but he breaks it down with 2 strikes, which has helped him limit strikeouts and put together mature at-bats despite posting average zone contact rates. His raw power is below average, but Houston has continued to tap into more and more juice as the season has gone on. There is quality gap power if he can consistently elevate the ball.
While the offensive ceiling is still limited, any doubt that Marek Houston may not have a major league caliber bat is effectively gone. If he doesn't tap into any more power, his profile is similar to that of Austin Martin or Luke Keaschall, a patient hitter who makes a lot of contact and provides value on the bases. While these guys don't hit for much power and have middling offensive numbers, they do more for the offense than the stats show. Combining that with plus defense at the shortstop position makes for an extremely valuable player and a guy who will find a way to make a positive impact on every game.
Marek Houston is squarely on track for a 2027 debut with an outside chance of making his way onto the opening day roster. He looks like a perfect fit for the Twins as a long-term solution at the shortstop position, where the team's -15 FRV since the start of 2025 ranks 28th in MLB. While he doesn't have a dynamite bat like Walker Jenkins or Emmanuel Rodriguez, Houston is worth getting excited about as one of the system's top prospects and arguably the prospect with the highest chance to be a productive big leaguer. He has been a Minnesota Twin for just over 12 months, but fans won't have to wait much longer to see him suited up at Target Field.

Over the recent years, the Miami Dolphins have been seen as a soft football team under former head coach, Mike McDaniel. When the team played bigger, more physical teams the results were never pretty. Jon-Eric Sullivan and Jeff Hafley are now looking to be the bully and not the bullied. You can see that in their very first draft selection with Kadyn Proctor, who is a huge man that moves well. It may not happen this season, but give the new front office some time to get their players in here and we can judge for ourselves if this team is still soft or not.
You can check out that story here, and the rest of the day's round-up below.

The Colorado Avalanche weren't the only club in the organization to make a playoff run this season; the Colorado Eagles also made their own push to the conference finals, and T.J. Hughes' clutch gene and scoring ability shone throughout their success.
Hughes' success with the Eagles has already excited pundits about how camp will go and whether he can sneak onto an Avalanche roster that seems poised to rely on more youth than in years past.
I am excited about this player, but not just because of his success at the historic University of Michigan or the Colorado Eagles. The intangibles he seems to harness are what have me looking at him to make a statement at camp.
Hughes is no stranger to leadership roles, as he wore the C in Michigan, and he speaks and carries himself in a way that projects the personality required to thrive in high-stakes and top-level hockey.
When asked by Jeff Marek of Daily Faceoff what he preferred, team success or individual statistics to validate performance, he was quick with, "I'd say overall team success."

WARSAW, July 3 (Reuters) - Ukraine is looking for ways to lower tension with Warsaw, Poland's prime minister said on Friday, adding that Poland's neighbour to the east should come to terms with its history to join the European Union.
Diplomatic relations between the two countries entered their worst crisis since Russia's 2022 full-scale invasion of Ukraine after Polish President Karol Nawrocki stripped Ukraine's Volodymyr Zelenskiy of Poland's top honour.
Nawrocki said he took the step due to the naming of an army unit after insurgents who massacred Poles in World War Two.
Prime Minister Donald Tusk, a political opponent of Nawrocki, has been trying to smooth tensions, and said he had received positive signals from Friday's meeting between Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha and his Polish counterpart Radoslaw Sikorski in Warsaw.

It's not every day that biologists announce an entirely new branch of life, and this one has been hiding under their noses for years.
It was discovered hiding in a lab sample of marine ciliates scientists had been tending to since collecting them from Croatian waters in 2011. But it wasn't until the ciliates suddenly died that this new, tiny creature, which scientists have named Solarion arienae, came into view.
"This organism allows us to look into a very ancient chapter of cellular evolution that we previously could reconstruct only indirectly," say protistologists Ivan Čepička and Marek V
