During this season for volleyball, Rutgers has had one night of evidence about its sustained success. Friday was about whether it could be the same team twice. Saturday asked something harder, whether Rutgers needed to be the same team at all.
Skylar George and Imani Howell, who between them played every set of Friday's win over Delaware, did not play. Karis Willow came off the bench. Zharia Harris-Waddy, Avery Jesewitz and Jenna DeLaMater started, and Addison Wiemann and Kami Dyrstad got a set.
Saturday night was the best one.

The Chargers dropped their final injury report of Week One and it's about as clean as you could ask for.
Edge rusher Tuli Tuipulotu (hip) is listed as questionable after being a limited participant at practice for most of the week. He dealt with a lower-body injury to begin training camp and it looks like the team is still playing it cautious with him now that the regular season is here.
Cornerback Deane Leonard is the only player listed as out for Sunday's game after missing the entire week of practice. Leonard is the team's fourth cornerback and the best coverage player on special teams. His presence will be missed in the third phase of the game.

Corner Canyon (Draper, UT) is coming off three straight championships, but with the graduation of stars like Texas A&M quarterback Helaman Casuga and Cal receiver Kai Meza, the forecasts of continued dominance seemed more questionable.
With the opening-week performances from QB Jaxon Pehrson and two-way star Diesel Dart, the Chargers showed they're still frontrunners until further notice.
Pehrson threw three touchdowns of 60 yards or more, Dart tossed three touchdowns, and the Chargers had a 23-second stretch in which they scored 16 points, dominating Davis (Kaysville, UT) 51-14.
Davis is a very good team, going 10-2 last year. However, they were no match.

Stocks that have climbed in the early weeks of training camp shouldn't be overlooked. The belittling of excelling in Oxnard because Kaiir Elam and others like him did well before regular-season flopping isn't fair.
There are plenty of times players look great and go on to have great seasons, building on camp momentum. Antwaun Woods was battling with Travis Frederick in training camp, and even though Frederick retired from the NFL, Woods took that confidence and ended up as a starter for Dallas. It's a story as old as time.
The Dallas Cowboys are looking for consistency in play; a drumbeat. Show up, make plays, outperform others on special teams or in their position groups, and try to be impactful to the coaches. On offense, the Cowboys have three clear needs to fill: tight end, offensive tackle, and explosive rushing option, and these options are rising their stocks early on in camp.
Trigg has made some nice receptions in camp, but that's what was expected based on his highlight reels from Baylor. What's truly raising his stock is his better-than-expected run blocking, along with the thinning out of competition, namely Princeton Fant's ACL injury. Luke Schoonmaker is still clearly TE3 due to special teams ability, but if Trigg continues to look like a better option on offense, the team could find a way to keep him on the roster.
The Guyton worry has shifted in Year 3 from "can he play?" to will he play. When Guyton is on the field, he performs well enough to be a solid starting left tackle. Guyton unfortunately can't be trusted to be on the field daily.

In their opening contest in the Baha Mar Summer League, the Cincinnati Bearcats put away Victoria (Canada) by 47 points, winning 110-63 in Nassau.
It was the first public appearance by the Jerrod Calhoun-version Bearcats and he saw seven of his players wind up in double figures. A pair of Utah State transfers led the way as MJ Collins had 15 points and added four **** ists. Adlan Elamin made four 3-pointers and finished with 14 points in addition to being UC's top rebounder with eight.
"It was a good test to see where I was at and it was a lot of fun," Elamin said afterward. "Our roster has a lot of depth. Everybody can do a bunch of things. I feel as long as everybody plays like this, there should be a lot of good outcomes."
Also hitting double figures were Myles Colvin with 12, Trevian Carson and Elijah Perryman with 11 and Riley Allenspach and Eric Mahaffey with 10 points.
"We want to be a high **** ist team, but we want to be an efficient team," Calhoun said after the game. "I thought we only took four or five bad shots. You get up by that many, you have a tendency to take a bad shot. That's the biggest thing I talk with the guy about is you've got to be an efficient basketball player."

The 2026 MLB Draft has come and gone, with the two-day event concluding on Sunday night. The Seminoles had seven players taken in this year's draft, headlined by second-round selections Wes Mendes and Myles Bailey. FSU lost its entire weekend rotation from a season ago, but did not lose RHP John Abraham or OF Brody DeLamielleure, as neither was picked.

Former US Olympian David 'Davey' Hearn has pleaded not guilty to vandalising the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool at a court appearance in Washington DC.
Hearn is accused of causing $1,000 (£750) of damages to the pool. He faces a felony charge of destruction of property.
President Donald Trump has blamed vandals for damage to newly applied coating on the bottom of the pool. Hearn was detained last month after touching some of the material, and told BBC News at the time it had already "delaminated".
"If Mr Hearn can be charged with a felony for touching the Reflecting Pool, every American is at risk", said Norm Eisen, one of Hearn's attorneys, speaking outside the courthouse on Thursday.
"It is not a crime to touch the Reflecting Pool, to touch water, in the United States of America," he said.

The 12U Alto Lady Jackets softball team earned the ***** le of state runner-ups in the Diamond Youth Softball State Championship. The tournament was conducted July 2 and 3 in Lear Park in Longview.
The Lady Jackets won their first state tournament game against Blanco 15-1. The win was followed by losses to Atlanta, 6-1 and 12-0, earning Alto the state runner-up spot.
Members of the team are Kamora Elam, Abbie Griffin, TeAsia Griffin, Macee Low, Kyndall Lucas, Cambrie Reagans, Amaya Reescano, Marlee Reid, Remi Reid, Emma Rowley and Journi Skinner.
The team was led by coaches Charley Reid, Lauren Reid and Cord Lucas.

Management stated that the FDA’s approval is based on positive results from the POTOMAC Phase III trial.
