The New York Giants finished with a 4-13 record last season, but they weren't your garden-variety last-place team.
The Giants were very competitive in most of their games. They could have very well ended up 7-10 or 8-9 had they been able to finish out games. They squandered five fourth-quarter leads last season, three of which were 10 or more points. They also were 1-7 in one-score games.
Sign of a bad team? Sure. The reasons were aplenty: Bad coaching, poor conditioning, lack of depth due to injuries, and being short on talent. They seemed to run out of gas late in games, and a change across the board was called for.
Enter veteran NFL coach John Harbaugh to instill and/or reverse all of those factors that made the Giants losers the past three seasons.

The Golden State Warriors got their man at the 2026 NBA Draft, selecting Michigan's Yaxel Lendeborg with the No. 11 overall selection Tuesday night.
Lendeborg will be able to contribute to Golden State's rotation right away as one of the strongest wing defenders in the 2026 class. However, as opposed to other prospects, Lendeborg was one of the older players to hear his name called in round one. Warriors general manager Mike Dunleavy Jr. addressed this after the draft but showed no signs of concern for his age. “He’s, what, 23, almost 24? I’m not worried because he’s not 38.” Dunleavy Jr. is, of course, joking, alluding to the fact that Steph Curry will be entering his age 38 season. But it's clear to see that Lendeborg's age isn't a concern for Golden State, as they were one of the few lottery teams in a "win-now" mode.
