Pete Crow-Armstrong went on a podcast last week and said with a laugh he likes the theory that Babe Ruth never existed. Baseball's internet treated it like a confession.
"This is gonna be crazy," the Cubs center fielder told Kristin Cavallari on her show "Let's Be Honest." Then he brought up the theory that the sport's greatest player may never have existed. He picked up the theory from Tayler Saucedo, a Mariners pitcher at the time, who floated it on a podcast in 2024 because he had barely seen any video of Ruth playing. Saucedo said this was a discussion in the Mariners bullpen and that they also decided that Ted Williams' legendary 500-foot home run never happened either.
Crow-Armstrong piled on Ruth saying the game has changed so much since then that pitchers back then might as well have been throwing underhand.
Then everybody lost it. One site used the quote to worry about American public education. Another brought up the plague of misinformation. A bunch of them criticized the young Cubs outfielder. It raised eyebrows and ruffled feathers! That's a lot of coverage for a 24-year-old answering a question about an unpopular opinion on a podcast hosted by somebody from "Laguna Beach."

Lucid Group (LCID) released its Q2 2026 earnings yesterday, Aug. 4, after the markets closed. The confessional attracted higher-than-usual attention for a couple of reasons. First, it was preceded by a turbulent couple of months that saw LCID shares fall to all-time lows on bankruptcy rumors, and second, it was the first call under the new CEO, Silvio Napoli.
Meanwhile, more than the numbers, the earnings call was about the strategic vision Napoli laid out for the company and how the new management team wants to transform Lucid into a sustainable business.

LeBron,
Now that you've officially taken your talents to Philadelphia—your fourth stop, your "last decision," your two-year, $8-million victory lap—Laker fans across the globe can finally exhale.
The eight-year experiment is over. And we have a confession to make: from Watts to Westwood, we never wanted you.
Let's be honest about what you were. You were a mercenary, not a Laker. A hired gun who wore purple and gold but never bled it.
Fred Roggin said it best: "He wore a Laker uniform, but he wasn't a Laker. I always felt that way. I think with LeBron, it's about LeBron." Byron Scott, a man who actually earned his place in Lakers lore, agreed—you're "not a true Laker."

Things have gone from bad to worse for Netflix (NFLX) stock over the last year. NFLX stock fell sharply on July 17 after markets gave a thumbs down to the company's second-quarter report. While earnings were broadly in line with estimates, Netflix's Q3 guidance spooked markets.
Notably, NFLX stock also plunged following the Q1 confessional earlier this year for pretty much the same reasons. That quarter, earnings easily beat estimates, but management still did not raise the annual guidance, which was seen as a sign of a slowdown in the coming quarters. In the Q2 release, management narrowed its annual revenue guidance to a range of $51 billion to $51.4 billion, increasing the lower end by $300 million while also cutting the top end of the range by a similar amount. Netflix's Q3 revenue guidance of $12.86 billion also fell short of Street estimates.

In response to former interim lightweight ****** leholder Dustin Poirier admitting that he struggles with depression, two-time middleweight champion Sean Strickland says male depression isn't real.
On June 21, Atlanta police were called to a disturbance at the airport involving Poirier. "The Diamond" was taken into custody after being aggressive with airport staff. Video of the incident later emerged revealing a drunken Poirier threatened police officers. He took responsibility for his actions but disclosed a long battle with depression and childhood trauma from growing up with an alcoholic father.
Strickland posted a video to social media reacting to Poirier's depression confession and told the Louisiana native to "shut the f*** up."
"I know this is an unpopular opinion and you have other people saying, like, 'Oh, male depression is a real thing. Dude, no it's not. No it's not," Strickland said in the video. "Especially if you're like successful and you've got family and you're rich. It's not a thing, dude.
"There are kids literally laying in bed dying of chemo right now that would do anything for one f**king more day on this planet and you're looking in the mirror saying, 'Oh, I'm sad. I'm sad.' Shut the f**k up!"

CEO Elliott Hill bought 47,320 NKE shares at ~$42 and Tim Cook added 25,000, with insiders clustering at almost exactly today's price.
Nike has beaten earnings estimates four straight quarters and pays a 3.96% dividend yield backed by 24 consecutive years of increases.
Greater China fell 17% and Converse dropped 35% in Q3, but North America grew and wholesale expanded every quarter of fiscal 2026.
Act now: the ******* yst who called NVIDIA in 2010 just named his top 10 AI stocks — and Nike didn't make the cut. Grab the names FREE today.
I keep hitting the buy ******* on on Nike, and Tuesday's earnings report has not slowed me down. It has done the opposite. Every panic headline about CFO Matthew Friend stepping down, every Reddit thread warning of soft numbers, every fresh leg lower in the share price has me adding again. This is a confession of conviction. Take it as such.

Good morning, TSF! I have a confession: the concurrent kickoffs overwhelmed me a bit. I tried to dual-screen it on monitors two and three and it was too much alongside my normal workday stuff on the main monitor. That’s saying something, too — the way my brain is wired can usually handle that much input. Did anybody manage the multi-screen setup yesterday?

Royal women have faced struggles throughout history – and in her new book, the royal biographer Catherine Mayer explores the challenges confronted by the Queen, the Princess of Wales and the ******* ss of Sussex, as well as past figures including Diana, Princess of Wales, Queen Victoria and Anne Boleyn.
In an exclusive interview for ******* O!'s A Right Royal Podcast, the author discusses how a calm and composed Kate Middleton managed to establish a unique role within the Firm.
"She has done such a clever job of finding a way to adapt to the institution," says Catherine, who published a biography of Prince Charles, as he was then, in 2015. "That does not mean that I think she has it easy. [But she has done] very little speaking and almost no confessional spilling of anything about who she is. She's quite enigmatic.
"She and William have chosen a group of friends who do no media. They are carving out a very private life in the public eye, which is an enormously difficult thing to do."
Catherine also says that Kate is "a player of the long game" when it comes to both her reputation and her sense of style. "She has, if you look at her fashion evolution, definitely figured out how to present herself.

BMW shocked equity markets by issuing a severe profit warning, sending its shares into a 7% tailspin to hit their lowest trading levels since late 2020.
The guidance revision marks the first major industrial confession of the compounding damage inflicted by China's domestic slowdown and the sweeping consumer sentiment chill radiating from the war in Iran.
The sudden reversal shattered BMW's long-standing reputation as the steady financial anchor among Europe's premium automotive houses. In a late-night regulatory update, the carmaker slashed its target operating margin corridor for its core automotive segment down to a thin 1% to 3%, a devastating reduction from its previous 4% to 6% projection. Management further conceded that total group pre-tax profits will now drop significantly, reversing its prior outlook of a mild cyclical decline from last year's baseline of €10.2 billion (about $11.8 billion). Free cash flow targets were also aggressively curtailed to finish just above €2.5 billion.
The warning marks a trial by fire for newly minted Chief Executive Milan Nedeljković, who **** umed total operational control of the corporate giant just last month. Nedeljković immediately announced a mandate to intensify and accelerate internal cost-cutting frameworks to defend remaining margins. However, this emergency restructuring comes with an immediate penalty, with BMW disclosing that the structural operational changes will trigger a heavy, negative one-off financial charge during the second half of 2026.

Jennifer Lopez is getting candid about a side of herself fans rarely hear about. During a recent podcast appearance, the music star made a surprising confession about her attraction to darker, more emotionally complicated love stories, even admitting one particular movie awakened what she described as the "dark side" of herself.
The revealing moment came while Jennifer Lopez appeared on "Films To Be Buried With," the podcast hosted by actor Brett Goldstein, her co-star in the upcoming romantic comedy "Office Romance."
While chatting with Goldstein, Lopez was asked to name "a film you found arousing that you weren't sure you should." The singer and actress did not hesitate.
Instead of naming a conventional romance, Lopez pointed to Quentin Tarantino's cult classic "True Romance," the violent 1993 film centered around obsessive love, crime, and dangerous chemistry.
"I would have had ******* with any one of them," Lopez admitted about the cast. "Which says a lot about me… maybe like the dark side of me."

Madonna is chasing headlines by dishing details about her long-ago fling with John F. Kennedy Jr., sources say.
When the Material Girl, 67, was recently grilled about who gave her the best ***** ever, the "Live to Tell" singer swore she'd only name "dead people" and stage-whispered the late hunk's name, according to Page Six.
JFK Jr. — who died in a 1999 plane crash at age 38 with wife Carolyn Bessette — was briefly linked to the "Like a Virgin" hitmaker before his marriage, but Madonna had previously kept the intimate details of their romance under wraps.
Her bombshell revelation — while conveniently promoting her album Confessions II — generated headlines around the world, and according to insiders, that's exactly what the publicity-hungry Queen of Pop was counting on.
"Madonna knew that dropping JFK Jr.'s name would get people talking about her again, and that's all she cares about. She's shameless," a source says.

Sydney Sweeney is known for making waves thanks to her character Cassie on Euphoria. She's also known for making splashes with unique LBDs and more on the red carpet, and for diving in and producing her own work, sometimes to great box office success. But you might be surprised to learn that in her downtime she's a sporty girl who enjoys working on her vintage Bronco. At least, her Euphoria co-stars were surprised to find this out.
Sweeney was promoting her series "Syd's garage" when she made the Euphoria-related confession. She said she used to work on her vintage cars all weekend in between filming shoots and sometimes would even bring those vehicles with her to the HBO set when she had downtime. She told ET her co-stars were very surprised to find out this fact about her:
If people know about it, they ask, 'You know how to work on a car?' After Euphoria, if I wrapped on a day or had a day off, I'd go to the garage and work on my Bronco. And when I would come to work the next day, they'd be like, 'What'd you do?' And I'd say, 'Oh, I went to the garage.' And they were just so confused. And I would drive my cars to set and I would work on them in basecamp. They'd be like, 'What is Sydney doing?'
Driving has always been a big part of her life. She's a heavy thumbs up on any vehicle she can drive manually, even if it's a "workout" on the LA freeways. One of her childhood friends' dads, Rod Emory, set her up with an official garage to work in, and the rest has been history. Though, she doesn't get her 1969 Bronco out as much as she'd like, even after switching her car from the original manual to automatic in order to handle the traffic challenges.

American businessman and social media personality Dave Portnoy is well-known for his honest takes on the crypto market and he doesn't hesitate to share his views even when he is sitting on a multimillion-dollar loss.
The Barstool Sports founder posted a confessional video on X on June 4 in which he admitted that as far as crypto is concerned, ***** ody has ever had as bad timing as him.

Calling the past week a "freaking disaster" for crypto, Portnoy said he was panicking like everyone else. He revealed that he holds Bitcoin (BTC) and XRP, which were trading at roughly $63,000 and $1.17, respectively, when he recorded the video. The decline, he said, has left him down millions of dollars.
Portnoy also said he bought the shares of Strategy (Nasdaq: MSTR) a week ago while it was already crashing.
