The first full week of trading in September didn't give Zscaler (NASDAQ: ZS) investors much to celebrate. During the shortened trading week that followed Labor Day, Zscaler dropped about 3%. This week, however, is a very different story, thanks to a firm providing an auspicious outlook for the cybersecurity stock.
According to data provided by S&P Global Market Intelligence, Zscaler shares were up 20.7% from the end of trading last Friday through 3:37 p.m. today.

Maintaining its outperform rating, Bernstein hiked its price target on Zscaler stock to $298 from $224 on Thursday morning. Based on Zscaler's closing price of $191.58 on Wednesday, the Bernstein price target implies 56% upside.
According to Thefly.com, Bernstein based its improved outlook on the belief that there's growing positive market sentiment toward cybersecurity stocks. In addition, Bernstein notes that cybersecurity stocks it had previously identified as "too cheap" are now reasonable valued, yet Zscaler is one option that still provides material upside.

Cybersecurity firm Zscaler Inc. (NASDAQ:ZS)'s shares were lower in pre market trading the day the firm reported its fiscal fourth quarter earnings report. The results saw the frm's revenue grow by 25% annualy and its non-GAAP earnings grow by 33%. Additionally, the revenue of $898 million and non GAAP earnings per share of $1.19 beat **** yst estimates of $807 million and $1.09. With the shares remaining muted following the release, Crmaer briefly commented on the results in a tweet:
"More good ones than bad ones so far...Lotta Zscaler shorts out there. Sorry."
Zscaler Inc. (NASDAQ:ZS)'s industry, cybersecurity, is a sector that Cramer is enthusiastic about. Two of his favorites in the sector are CrowdStrike and Palo Alto Networks. The firm's latest quarter was a solid set of figures on all fronts, which includes the annual recurring revenue (ARR). Zscaler Inc. (NASDAQ:ZS)'s Q4 ARR jumped by 35% to $3.77 billion, out of which $246 million was net new ARR.
Crucially, the firm demonstrated strong net new ARR growth even if the impact of its Red Canary acquisition is removed. Without the acquisition, Zscaler Inc. (NASDAQ:ZS)'s net new ARR growth was 17%, which marked a strong acceleration over the year-ago quarter's 7%. Additionally, the firm also exited the quarter with more than 785 customers with more than $1 million in ARR and a 50% penetration rate into the Fortune 500. The growth comes at a time when Zscaler Inc. (NASDAQ:ZS) is expanding its AI initiatives to cover AI agents through the Zero Trust platform and corporate large language model deployment via the AI Guard platform. Additionally, CEO Jay Chaudhry claimed to CNBC that his firm had delivered a 50% sequential expansion in AI security bookings in the quarter.
Yet, looking at the fiscal year 2027 guidance, Zscaler Inc. (NASDAQ:ZS) could be in for a deceleration. Comparing the firm's FY27 revenue guidance of $3.91 billion to $3.94 billion to its FY26 revenue of $3.35 billion shows that growth could range between 16.6% to 17.5%, while FY26 revenue growth was 25%. Additionally, powering the AI growth comes at a cost as Zscaler Inc. (NASDAQ:ZS)'s FY26 R&D expenses of $903 million marked a 34% annual growth.

Investors are awaiting the fourth-quarter earnings release of cybersecurity firm Zscaler (ZS), which is scheduled for Sept. 3, after the market closes. Ahead of that, investors have lifted the company's stock, expecting the earnings to provide tailwinds.
Cybersecurity spending is expected to be a priority in this era of artificial intelligence (AI). Recently, a series of AI hacking incidents brought the importance of cybersecurity to the forefront. Therefore, there's a chance that while chips and data centers were the biggest beneficiaries of the first wave of the AI boom, cybersecurity could steal that spot in the next wave and experience a spending boom.

Zscaler (NASDAQ:ZS) reports its fiscal fourth-quarter results after the market's close tomorrow, Sept. 3. While several cybersecurity stocks are near all-time highs, Zscaler has been out of favor recently, as management gave cautious guidance in its previous earnings report.
However, with two of the largest cybersecurity companies, CrowdStrike (NASDAQ: CRWD) and Palo Alto Networks (NASDAQ: PANW), recently reporting results that show AI is boosting cybersecurity demand, could Zscaler beat the modest expectations investors have for its business?

Bank of America on Tuesday hiked its price targets on cybersecurity stocks on views that a worsening artificial intelligence-based threat landscape supports higher valuations. Cybersecurity stocks have rebounded from worries that AI model builders will emerge as competitors.
Bank of America raised its price targets for SentinelOne (S), SailPoint (SAIL) and Zscaler (ZS). Other cybersecurity stocks may be extended amid a big rally in 2026, BofA said.
"Over the past several months, cybersecurity stocks have benefited from improving software sector sentiment and increasing investor focus on the security implications of AI," said BofA ****** yst Tal Liani in a report.
"While the market initially viewed AI as a potentially disruptive force that could compress the value of incumbent security platforms, recent developments have shifted the conversation toward the expanding threat landscape created by AI," he added. "We believe investors are increasingly viewing cybersecurity as a critical enabler of enterprise AI adoption, supporting both durable demand and a more constructive valuation framework across the sector."
AI is changing the cybersecurity industry as companies race to build cloud computing-based platforms. Cybersecurity firms are rapidly embedding AI into nearly every stage of threat detection, investigation and response. But hackers are using AI tools as well. Recent incidents have reinforced concerns that increasingly capable AI models could be used for cyberattacks in the wrong hands.

AI is now greatly advancing both sides of the cybersecurity war, with data increasingly favoring attackers. This isn't an isolated data point, as Check Point's 2026 Cyber Security Report, its 14th annual study, found that organizations fell victim to an average of 1,968 cyberattacks per week back in 2025, a 70% increase from 2023, as attackers increasingly make use of automation and AI to move more quickly and operate across a number of attack surfaces at the same time. Meanwhile, Mandiant's M-Trends 2026 report further highlights the timeframe problem: 28.3% of revealed vulnerabilities are now exploited in less than 24 hours, with time-to-exploit effectively negative when ******* aults arrive before patches.
That narrow window between vulnerability discovery and attack is exactly the dynamic that is altering business security budgets, and Wall Street sees CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:CRWD) as one of the companies best positioned to gain from it. In fiscal Q1 2027, the company's revenue reached $1.39 billion, up 26% year-over-year, while ending ARR was a record $5.51 billion, up 24%, with net new ARR of $256 million increasing 32% year-over-year, indicating an acceleration rather than a slowing in the pace of new business. Profitability scaled alongside the expansion, with non-GAAP net income growing to $283 million from $184.7 million the year before.
Although CrowdStrike's underlying trajectory remains robust, its valuation multiple is the key source of concern for institutional investors. Shares are currently trading at a forward price-to-earnings ratio of 119.92x, which is a significant premium above prominent cybersecurity rivals such as Palo Alto Networks (84.74x), SentinelOne (39x), and Zscaler (32.72x). At almost 120x forward earnings, the current stock price requires sustained mid-to-high 20% annual revenue growth and continued margin improvement over several years to justify trading levels in hindsight.
Against this backdrop, Stifel's July 17 price target increase to $230 from $220, following investor meetings with CrowdStrike's CFO on AI tailwinds, fiscal 2027 confidence, and Falcon Flex traction, reads as sell-side confirmation of a growth story already supported by the company's own numbers, rather than primary evidence for it.
The firm also cited a growing sales pipeline supporting confidence in CrowdStrike's net-new annual recurring revenue guidance increase issued last quarter, as well as management's stated willingness to increase the size and pace of acquisitions, which would be funded with a combination of stock and debt.

On June 25, 2026, KeyBanc lowered its price target on Zscaler, Inc. (NASDAQ:ZS) to $176 from $190 and kept an Overweight rating. KeyBanc's chief investment officer survey for the first half of 2026 showed the gap "between the haves and the have-nots in the IT budget just got wider." The firm said AI and AI-readiness spending rose sharply in priority and recommended investors stick with security, data, infrastructure, and monitoring names.
Earlier in June, Guggenheim upgraded Zscaler to Buy from Neutral with a $214 price target. Guggenheim called Zscaler a "trust me story," but said the valuation presents an opportunity to buy a category leader in a still nascent and hyper-growth market. The firm also said Zscaler's relevance is likely to grow in the AI era, especially with C-level executives who believe in Zero Trust security.
Last month, Wells Fargo lowered its price target on Zscaler to $180 from $210 and kept an Overweight rating. Wells Fargo said resetting next year's top-line numbers was needed, but noted that several noise factors, including meaningful free cash flow headwinds, would likely keep investors sidelined for now. The firm said that Zenith, in a couple of weeks, could provide more clarity.
