The New York Mets made a notable bullpen move on Friday afternoon.
Today, the NL East club announced that right-hander Jack Weisenburger was recalled from Triple-A Syracuse.
Weisenburger replaces fellow righty Chris Devenski, who was designated for ******* ignment by the Mets.
Devenski, 35, is an 11-year veteran reliever who has pitched for seven clubs. He made just six appearances with the Mets, allowing eight earned runs on nine hits in 5.1 innings.

The Mets are making a change in their bullpen ahead of their series in the Bronx, recalling Jack Weisenburger and sending Chris Devenski back to Triple-A Syracuse.
Weisenburger appeared in three games for the Mets in August, tossing four and a third innings, allowing one run on three hits, walking two and striking out four. In 18 games for Syracuse (13 starts), Weisenburger has a 6.68 ERA over 62 innings pitched, with 53 strikeouts to 34 walks and eight home runs allowed.
Devenski split time between the Mets and Pirates organizations this season, and in six appearances for the Mets was more or less fine until his last appearance against the Marlins, where he was responsible for five of the runs in the Mets' wild 15-14 dub on Wednesday. The 35 year old veteran has a 13.50 ERA for the Mets this season, and an 11.74 ERA across both clubs in the majors.
With a little more than a week left in the Triple-A season and Syracuse two and a half games out of a playoff spot, Devenski will have plenty of opportunity for some innings before, potentially, rejoining the Mets if the need arises.
The second half of the Subway Series with the Yankees starts tonight at 7:05pm on PIX11 with Nolan McLean facing off against Carlos Rodón.

The Mets have optioned right-handed pitcher Xzavion Curry, who gave them three scoreless innings of relief last night Pittsburgh, to Triple-A Syracuse. And the team has called up fellow right-handed pitcher Jack Weisenburger to take his place on the active roster.
Curry joined the organization ahead of the 2026 season, and he's gone back and forth between Syracuse and the big league club already this season. The 28-year-old has a 2.81 ERA and a 4.77 FIP in 16.0 innings with the Mets, while he has a 4.56 ERA and a 5.64 FIP in 51.1 innings in Triple-A.
As for Weisenburger, if he gets into a game, he'll be making his major league debut. He's also 28 years old, and he's spent several years of his professional career in the Athletics' minor league system. From there, he pitched in the Atlantic League and Mexican League before the Mets signed him. He's thrown 52.1 innings in Syracuse this year and has a 7.22 ERA and a 5.37 FIP in that time.
