NEW YORK/LONDON, Aug 5 (Reuters) - Major stock indexes were mixed near flat on Wednesday, with declines in shares of ***** eX weighing on the Nasdaq, while U.S. oil prices eased.
In commodity markets, gold prices ‌rose to their highest level in almost seven weeks following recent talks on Iran. Spot gold was last up 4.09% ‌at $4,242.92 an ounce.
Shares of AI and satellite company ***** eX fell more than 8%. The company touted faster-than-expected returns from its AI spending on its first-ever earnings call as a public company, but investors remained concerned about how long its Starlink business could continue to bankroll costly investments.
Chipmaker Advanced Micro Devices shares were down more than 5% as results that beat ***** ysts' estimates failed to meet investors' lofty expectations.

NEW YORK/LONDON, Aug 3 (Reuters) - Oil prices dropped and major stock indexes gained on Monday on signs that U.S.-Iran tensions were easing again, while the yen strengthened after the U.S. and ***** an confirmed joint intervention to support the currency ‌and investors watched for signs of further intervention.
U.S. President Donald Trump over the weekend held off on a fresh attack on Iran.
Trump ‌said on Monday that talks with Iran were under way, warning that it was a "last chance" for Tehran to sign a good deal to end the five-month-old war, but Iran denied that any negotiations were being held or planned.
Front-month Brent futures fell $6.35, or 7.0%, to settle at $83.77 a barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate (WTI) crude fell $4.33, or 5.1%, to settle at $80.34.

NEW YORK/SINGAPORE, July 21 (Reuters) - Major stock indexes rose on Tuesday with the Nasdaq and chipmaker shares surging, while oil prices climbed to a five-week high amid rising tensions in the Iran conflict.
The **** anese yen ‌weakened 0.41% against the greenback to 163.14 per dollar, breaching the 163 mark for the first time since December 1986 as ‌traders braced for possible intervention in the currency by the **** anese government.
Two oil tankers carrying Saudi crude to Asia reversed course in the Red Sea after threats from Yemen's Iran-aligned Houthis.
Brent futures rose $1.79, or 2.0%, to settle at $91.01 a barrel, while U.S. West Texas Intermediate crude gained $1.68, or 2.0%, to settle at $84.91. It was the highest close for Brent since June 10 and for WTI since June 11.

NEW YORK, June 18 (Reuters) - Major stock indexes climbed on Thursday as semiconductor shares jumped, while Brent oil touched its lowest level in weeks before finishing slightly higher.
An interim deal between the United States and Iran to end the Middle ‌East war took effect, and oil tankers sailed through the Strait of Hormuz, pointing to a resumption of long restricted energy flows.
U.S. ‌Vice President JD Vance, however, warned Israel against further attacks on Iran-backed Hezbollah in Lebanon, raising doubts about the durability of the U.S.-Iran ceasefire agreement.
Brent crude futures gained 30 cents, or 0.38%, to settle at $79.85 a barrel after sliding as low as $76.54 earlier in the session. U.S. West Texas Intermediate fell 19 cents or 0.25% to finish at $76.60 a barrel.

NEW YORK, June 15 (Reuters) - The ****** eX IPO went off with a bang. Now investors turn their attention to a jam-packed calendar ahead for Elon Musk's rocket, internet and AI firm that may bring volatility.
Just in the next two months, the sixth-largest U.S. listed company by ‌market value will have a handful of events – ranging from the listing of options to the expiration of investor holding periods to index inclusion – that could help dictate ‌trading in its shares and the broader market.
Friday's launch of the largest-ever IPO was well managed from start to finish, investors said, drawing strong orders from retail and institutions alike and benefiting from Musk's reputation for the Midas touch. But debate continues over what the right price for the stock is and to what extent ****** eX's savvy marketing matches with its fundamentals.
"You have to look at it this way: are people actually investing in ****** eX or trading ****** eX? I am of the belief, and this is also other money managers that I'm talking to, that it's the latter," said Todd Schoenberger, chief investment officer at Crosscheck Management in Washington, D.C.
