Physical season tickets or digital tickets on your smartphone are yesterday's news. A French second-division club is now showing what the future will look like.
Fans of Dijon FCO actually use their scarves as entry tickets! They enter the stadium with their scarf, which is equipped with an NFC chip and serves as a season ticket. Videos on 'x', among other places, show exactly how it works.
One user commented that, of course, it's still possible to get in with a QR code at any time—for example on very hot days, when wearing a scarf might not be all that comfortable.
Normally, though, the fan scarves serve as season tickets.
Interesting idea, isn't it?

PFL commentator Dan Hardy thinks the historic betting line between Dakota Ditcheva and Denise Kielholtz at PFL New York is a disservice to both athletes.
Undefeated women's flyweight standout Ditcheva (15-0) will walk into Friday's co-main event matchup with Kielholtz (9-5) at UBS Arena on Long Island (ESPN) as a historic betting favorite. She can be found as high as -10,000 on various markets, which marks one of the widest lines ever in an MMA fight.
Although Ditcheva, 28, is a rightful favorite in the mind of nearly everyone, Hardy said the mass unpredictability of MMA could level the playing field in a way the odds don't reflect. He sees Kielholtz, 37, as having a sneaky game, and the fact Ditcheva is coming off a pair of significant injuries creates some intrigue.
"First of all, it's an MMA fight. I was talking to Matt Serra last night and he's one of the people that upset the odds (against Georges St-Pierre) back in the day before they had as much traction and attention," Hardy told MMA Junkie. "I feel for Denise because she's been put in that situation by a lot of people. Then when you see them face off, Dakota's huge for the weight. But Denise, at close range, she's got excellent judo, inside and outside leaps, side control, scarf hold position, taking the back. She could be a real test for Dakota because she's very, very good in the clinch at close range.
"I'm sure she's 100 percent feeling great, but there's always that little bit of hesitation when you're coming back from an injury, like, 'How is this going to work out?' Does it change Dakota's game in some ways? Does she want to kick more or clinch more? I'm excited to see what Dakota looks like."

We asked for your views after Newcastle announced they would allow eligible supporters to vote on new club crest options in August as work continues to update the existing badge.
Here are some of your comments:
Ed: A badge isn't just a tool for merchandise. Fans have so much emotional investment into a badge, a hat, scarf or a shirt which reminds you of that game, or that goal, or that person who you went to the game with. It's impossible to "evolve" aspects of the club which carry so much emotional weight without damaging one of the key bases of the fans' support. Of course, fans will keep on coming and loving the club as much as they always did, but it breaks a bond, and only adds to the harmful emotional detachment between the modern game and the football fans' memories.
Ian: I'd rather the crest remained the same, but I accept the argument for changing it. I think the crest vote should be open to all members and that there must be a "none of the above" option.
Matt: It's hard to say supporters are getting their say when the club came out and said this is happening whether anyone likes it or not. These new crests represent a simplified, **** genised version of everything that has ramped up post-Covid. I can already see the final product - a stripped-down version of a crest that is more caricature than representative of anything meaningful.

Jennifer Lopez is making the most of her Italian getaway, serving one glamorous vacation look after another. While soaking up the sunshine in Taormina, Sicily, the singer embraced Dolce & Gabbana's signature floral aesthetic in a coordinated micro shorts and tie-up top look that perfectly matched the picturesque surroundings.
Jennifer Lopez stepped out in a sky-blue floral two-piece from Dolce & Gabbana featuring the label's $1,250 floral tie top. The long-sleeved shirt featured an all-over vibrant floral print in shades of red, pink, and green against a light blue background. It was designed with a pointed collar, ******* on fastening, ******* oned cuffs, and a dramatic front tie. This revealed a glimpse of her toned midriff.
She paired it with the coordinating $975 floral-pattern drawstring micro shorts, which sat high on the waist. It featured a relaxed, voluminous silhouette with an elasticated waistband. The lightweight shorts showcased the same vivid botanical print as the top. Therefore, it created a perfectly matched vacation-ready set while highlighting her legs.
Adding even more Italian glamor, Lopez accessorized with a matching floral headscarf tied around her bun and wore oversized black cat-eye sunglasses and layered gold necklaces. She stacked multiple gold bracelets and rings, carried a structured cream handbag, and completed the outfit with nude open-toe heeled sandals that elongated the playful look.
The actress and singer posed throughout the scenic gardens of Taormina, surrounded by blooming flowers and Mediterranean architecture. In another candid moment shared on Instagram, she was seen chatting with Dolce & Gabbana co-founder Domenico Dolce while still wearing the floral ensemble. This offered a behind-the-scenes glimpse into her stylish Italian escape.

A ritual that simply had to be part of the team's arrival in Oslo, and one that even the crown prince wanted to take part in.
With a scarf around his neck and drumsticks in hand, Haakon took the lead as thousands of people joined in unison alongside the players, in a celebration that is now etched in history.

The Prince and Princess of Wales have arrived for the final day of Wimbledon, bringing with them their eldest two children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte. The family were in great spirits as they stepped out in the sunshine on Sunday to watch the Men's Final between Jannik Sinner and Alexander Zverev.
Princess Kate pulled out all the stops wearing a gorgeous green dress with fluted sleeves and one-shoulder draped scarf detail, with her mermaid waves looking as glorious as ever. She teamed her dress with unique bronze accessories and a purple bow brooch.
Meanwhile, Prince William looked dapper in his signature navy suit, with Prince George looking effortlessly smart matching his dad.
Princess Charlotte was her mummy's mini-me sporting a bright blue dress with tie waist and ruffle sleeves. A colour Kate wore just days ago at Wimbledon!
Prince Louis was not in attendance on this occasion, however, we have seen him on official state engagements like Trooping the Colour. Tennis matches can be notoriously long so perhaps the family questioned how the eight-year-old's attention span would cope on a long, hot day like Sunday.

For viewers in the Alpine nation, the last-16 match in Canada finished shortly before 1:00am on Wednesday, it triggering car horns, cowbells and fireworks long into the night.
"Congratulations to the entire team and all the staff for this historic result!" Parmelin said on X, in a video from Mexico City, wearing a Switzerland scarf and his red "Switzerland: Great since 1291" baseball cap.
"I enjoyed it; it was tense. And now it's the first step towards the final.

Joey Chestnut has once again been crowned winner of Nathan’s hot dog eating contest after stomaching 66 franks in intense 100-degree feels-like temperatures.
Pat Bertoletti finished second by eating 51 hot dogs and Australian James Webb placed third with 47.5.
In the women’s competition, Miki Sudo captured her 12th championship by scarfing down 38.75 hot dogs, up from 33 last year. Michelle Lesco placed second with 22 and Domenica Dee third with 21.5 dogs eaten.
By the time Chestnut, now an 18-time champion, took the stage, the midday heat in Coney Island neared 100 degrees Fahrenheit (38 degrees Celsius) with high humidity, affecting bun texture and eaters’ fitness levels.
He earned a $10,000 prize for his win but didn’t surpass his previous record, which fans had hoped for to mark America’s 250th birthday.

Almost 200,000 Ecuadorians and Ecuadorian Americans live in New York City, and last week quite a lot of them were in a Brooklyn restaurant called El Encebollado de Victor to watch their football team take on Germany – a traditional World Cup powerhouse.
It made for quite a sight: a sea of yellow shirts under the restaurant’s blue roof, which had been adorned with red, blue and yellow balloons for the occasion. Among the most patriotically dressed was Luis Aguilar, 45, who was born in the US to parents who had emigrated from Ecuador.
Aguilar was wearing an Ecuador jersey, an Ecuador scarf, and a straw hat with the Ecuador colors and Ecuador written on the front. He had an Ecuador flag tied around his neck, and was with a dog called Jax who was also wearing a flag.
As the match, held in New Jersey, began, it was clear there was a good turnout of Ecuadorians in the stadium too: yellow shirts were everywhere, and the country’s national anthem, ¡Salve, Oh Patria! was belted out in the stadium and in the restaurant.
“It’s very fascinating. I have not seen this many Ecuadorians in one place [the stadium] probably ever,” Aguilar said.

Back to the Future star Lea Thompson was a proud mom on the red carpet on Tuesday, as she supported her daughter ahead of the release of her newest film, Gail Daughtry and the Celebrity ***** Pass.
The 65-year-old looked incredible in a white dress that fell to just above her knees, featuring long sleeves and a draped scarf. She paired the look with strappy beige heels and dangling earrings, and wore her blonde hair in a stylish bob as she made the rare public appearance.
Lea's 31-year-old daughter, Zoey Deutch, wowed in a black one-shoulder gown with a high halter neck and draped detailing down one sleeve. She added black heels to complete the look and wore her hair in a chic up-do.
The mother-daughter duo beamed as they walked the red carpet together ahead of Zoey's new film, which follows her character, Gail Daughtry, as she travels to Hollywood to seek revenge on her fiancé by orchestrating a celebrity encounter.
Also in attendance on the special night was Zoey's dad, Howard Deutch, who has been married to Lea since 1989, after meeting on the set of Some Kind of Wonderful.

A common misconception about Trinny Woodall is that she's not an altogether serious person. This despite the fact that revenue at her beauty and skincare business, Trinny London, which sells in 180 countries, was £70m in 2025, up 25 per cent on the previous year, giving it a market value of around £200m.
Whether this is because she's seen as posh, privileged or because she makes her money in women's beauty, or because she first came to the public's attention with a weekly style column co-starring her close buddy, Susannah Constantine (a 1980s fixture on Tatler's society pages) is a moot point. It all seemed to come so easily.
Is it serious to insist, as she does, on conducting an in-depth interview in a corner of her brand's store on the King's Road? "Won't the customers milling around the shop make her inhibited?" I protested to her publicist beforehand, who ***** ed an eyebrow at the suggestion. "Trinny doesn't really do inhibited."
Sure enough, in she sweeps, rangy and slouchily elegant, in a voluminous grey trouser suit from the Australian label St Agni, featuring a swooping collar that doubles as a scarf. "I love versatility" she says, flinging hair and the scarf-collar hither and thither. She also loves Matthieu Blazy, the new creative director at Chanel, but no way is she spending £5,000 on one of his cropped blazers. She is not wealthy, she stresses with fairly strong expletives. "Every single penny goes back into this business. I don't even own my house." Instead of buying the new Chanel jacket, she chopped up one of her own to get the look.
Suddenly we're back at that column, launched in 1996 in this very newspaper, which turned Trinny and Susannah into the nation's style agony aunts. A BBC Two show called What Not to Wear soon followed. Its bracing advice proved so successful, it moved to BBC One before ITV beckoned. Over several years the pair sold three million books.

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — Brazilian fans that went the distance up the Philadelphia Museum of Art steps to pose with the Rocky statue left the fictional fighter just as they found him.
Every Brazilian fan — in Philadelphia to watch their national team play Haiti on Friday at the World Cup — that stopped for a snapshot or a selfie with the 9-foot-11, 1,300-pound beast left the statue dressed in only his bronze trunks and boots.
No taking chances of getting hit by the Rocky curse.
Yes, the Rocky statue, long a symbol of resilience, heart and the unbreakable bond between Rocky and the people of Philadelphia, has taken a few more hits of late (even in retirement).
Visiting American sports fans have long learned the hard way that dressing the statue with colorful jerseys, scarfs, hats, anything found in your local Rally House, has only meant that team would suffer a knockout blow at the home of the local Philly team.

Having come on strong in this year’s French Open, Diana Shnaider’s explosive left-handed forehand and double-handed backhand aren’t her only signatures.

The Russian-born player, who is recognizable for her colorful headscarves, is squaring off against Maja Chwalińska of Poland Thursday. Shnaider opted for a repeat look, wearing the same orange headscarf and black Yonex tennis dress that she wore Wednesday to defeat the WTA’s top-ranked Aryna Sabalenka. As for her French Open strategy, Shnaider told reporters earlier this week that she was “trying to go match by match.”

The Yonex-sponsored athlete was unmissable in an orange ribbed headscarf that accented the orange and turquoise trim on her black tennis dress with a leathery-looking pleated skirt. It also coordinates with the red clay courts at Roland-Garros.

Born in Zhigulevsk, Russia, Shnaider started playing tennis at the age of 4 and was training under coach Samvel Minasyan in Moscow by the age of 8. After a stint at North Carolina State University in 2022, she competed in her first Grand Slam tournament the following year at the Australian Open. Repped by Topnotch Management, the former Adidas-sponsored athlete has an endorsement deal with the sports media content company First & Red. Her career earnings to date are $5.17 million including $952,112 in prize earnings. This year women’s single winner at the French Open will take home 2,800,000 euros, or $3.25 million.

Her signature headscarf was something that she started wearing years ago to shield the sun. Shnaider’s parents were concerned that the fair-haired daughter would get sunburned on the courts, but caps and visors reportedly obstructed her view. So Shnaider opted for a headscarf that they bought in a supermarket. By 2023, Shnaider was outsourcing the design of her favorite accessory, by buying the material for a seamstress to design. However, for Wednesday’s upset victory, she appeared to wear a ribbed one with the Yonex logo on it. A Yonex representative deferred an interview request to Topnotch Management, which did not respond to requests for comment.
The American men’s singles player Frances Tiafoe copied the look last year by sporting a blue headscarf with white polka dots at last year’s Cincinnati Open. He gave her credit for the choice via Instagram inspiration on Instagram with “New look?? Appreciate u _di_shnaider_ .”
