We've never seen Indiana football recruit at the level it's been lately.
The Hoosiers have had moments where they've reigned in highly-rated high school prospects, but they've been few and far between. They've never had a five-star commit, as happened when Monshun Sales announced his decision earlier this month. Nor have they ever landed one of the nation's top quarterback prospects, as happened when Lukas Prock did the same not long after. Sales and Prock are No. 1 and No. 2 in 247Sports' list of all-time Indiana commits.
With all of this in mind, we asked Indiana football fans how they felt about recruiting moving forward. There were responses that indicated a lack of optimism, but no respondents chose them.
Indiana fans, of course, have reason to be optimistic. Curt Cignetti and the rest of the Hoosiers' staff are coming off of the first national ******* le in program history and won it without a single 5-star on the roster, developing several other prospects into high-level contributors over time.
The Hoosiers enter the 2026 season with a similar build as former James Madison and Tom Allen Indiana players exhaust their eligibility and the roster is bolstered through the transfer portal and development of past recruits. Indiana sits at +950 to repeat as national champions, per FanDuel Sportsbook.

When it comes to confidence, Lawrence North (IN) five-star wide receiver Monshun Sales definitely doesn't lack it.
Sales showed that confidence in front of one of the NFL's best defensive backs recently as Indianapolis Colts cornerback Sauce Gardner recently visited Sales and his Lawrence North teammates.
Working in a collaboration with Q-Collar, the Lawrence North players were asked if they had any questions for Gardner. Sales called from the back, " Can we 1-on-1?"
The Colts posted the clip of the two's interaction on their X account.

Like any highly accomplished wide receiver, Lawrence North High School's Monshun Sales has plenty of confidence.
But is he ready to challenge an NFL player? Even if he can't yet, he wants to.
Indianapolis Colts cornerback Sauce Gardner paid a visit to a recent Lawrence North workout, and Sales pulled up on him.
"I'm coming to see you," Sales told Gardner, with a lot of encouragement from his Wildcats teammates.
"That's the No. 1 receiver in the nation," LN coach Pat Mallory told Gardner. "I didn't know if you knew that or not."

One of the most sought-after prospects has a decision date as Lawrence North receiver Monshun Sales announced Saturday plans for his commitment.
Sales, a consensus five-star recruit, shared on social media that he will publicly declare his commitment at noon Friday. The Rivals industry rankings have Sales as the No. 8 recruit in the 2027 class, and the top wide receiver.
Among the interested will be Indiana football fans, and there are plenty of connections between the Hoosiers and Sales. Consider that Omar Cooper Jr., who helped IU win a national championship, was a first-round NFL draft pick and attended the same high school as Sales. Or how about his former teammate, Davion Chandler, residing in Bloomington and offering an inside look into Curt Cignetti's program.
Insider: Decision time looms for Lawrence North 5-star recruit Monshun Sales: Finalists, stats, predictions
But standout programs offer company in the decision. Sales is originally from Alabama, Texas surged late into Sales' recruitment and figure to come financially equipped to challenge anybody, Ohio State's history of receivers is noteworthy and first-year LSU coach Lane Kiffin has long been one of college football's great offensive minds.

Recruiting wide receivers can often be adventurous as the position is always full of boisterous and talented blue-chippers. It's become rare that a cycle doesn't feature a big flip or two from one of the nation's top pass-catchers.
For some schools, if they wish to add another elite receiver to their class, it will indeed have to be a flip, as most have already committed coming out of official visit season. Of the 55 blue-chip prospects at the position — according to the Rivals Industry Ranking — 52 are already off the board, as of July 5.

That includes 18 of the top 20. Five-Star Plus+ WR Monshun Sales, the No. 2 player at the position, remains uncommitted but is getting closer to making a summer decision. He'll be one of the final dominoes to fall.
So, which schools are putting together notable receiver hauls this cycle? Rivals breaks down the top receiver classes nationwide coming out of June.

There are just four five-star recruits left on the board in the 2027 recruiting class. Two of the four are big Texas Longhorns targets. Steve Sarkisian and the UT recruiting staff are working hard to get wide receiver Monshun Sales and interior offensive lineman Ismael Camara to pick the Horns.
The big names are coming off the board this faster than an NFL Draft. The recruiting calendar is shifting and more prospects are committing during the summer. Teams are wanting to get NIL deals locked in earlier and prospects are seeing the benefit of having the process over before their senior year.
Texas had 12 prospects commit during June, 11 were from the 2027 class. One of those Texas commits was a five-star, John Meredith III, who was named the biggest commitment in the month of June. The nation's No. 2 2027 recruit announced his decision on ESPN's Pat McAfee Show. Meredith picked Texas over rival Texas A&M and Ohio State.
Sark is actively recruiting two of the four super blue chip prospects remaining. Here's a look at where they stand:
Sales has narrowed his list down to five teams: Texas, LSU, Ohio State, Indiana and Alabama. He has vistted all five since April. The Longhorns were the final team Sales took an official visit to, hitting the Forty Acres on June 19. Texas actually got into the recruiting battle over Sales late in the process, offing the five-star in April.

Boom! The Ohio State football team has added a second wide receiver commit to its 2027 class. Three-star receiver Jordan Donahoo has given his verbal pledge to play for the Buckeyes next year.
Hailing from Oviedo, Florida, Donahoo chose Ohio State over Cincinnati, Georgia Tech, and Minnesota. He recently made an official visit to Columbus alongside OSU commit Jamier Brown and another target, Blake Wong, with the latter expected to commit to BYU.
Donahoo is ranked as the No. 150 wide receiver in the country according to 247Sports composite rankings. Standing at 6-foot-4 and 190 pounds, he gives the Buckeyes another big target. This is the second commitment at receiver this week, joining elite 2029 receiver Austin Brown.
Donahoo becomes the 17th recruit to give his pledge to play in Scarlet and Gray next season and the second receiver in the class. The coaching staff is still hoping to sway Monshun Sales from Indiana, the No. 2 overall receiver in the class, to join the Buckeyes. At this point, it looks like Sales may be headed in a different direction, but there's still time.
After yesterday's monster commitment from five-star offensive tackle Caden Moss, Ohio State has now moved up to having the No. 8 class in the country. The good news is there are still some big names out there that the Buckeyes are hoping to snag, in particular, running back David Gabriel-Georges and defensive lineman Marcus Fakatou. Both are five-star prospects and would push the class even higher.
