Just weeks into ***** nal's 2026/27 campaign, details have already leaked concerning the Gunners' kits for the 2027/28 season.
On the home kit, Footy Headlines report that ***** nal are set to wear a pinstriped design in the usual red and white, with the kit also utilising navy details.
There's also speculation that the Adidas stripes on the shoulders will be in navy blue, although that detail hasn't been confirmed. Previous reports had also revealed that the front-of-shirt sponsorship logo will just read 'Emirates', rather than 'Fly Emirates' or 'Emirates – Fly Better'.

Well, that was a bit of a damp squib of a "match one", wasn't it?
It was always going to be a bit "meh" for me, to be honest – I erroneously made arrangements to have lunch with some old friends on Saturday (family pals, not footy mates), which I was really looking forward to and enjoyed a lot, but I knew would probably overrun. Before a ball was kicked, I'd settled for maybe seeing some of the second half, and hopefully seeing us do well.
As it transpired, I failed as a so-called "fan" to greater depths than the lads did – I couldn't get any visibility of the match until about ten minutes from the end, when a family member shared a rather dodgy internet link. By the time that got working, I watched Jack Clarke bend it into the bottom corner (as we have seen him do so many times), and that was that.
After only seeing the tail end and watching us lose to an "ex", the whole weekend took a bit of a nosedive in terms of football feelings for me. I still haven't watched the highlights even now (Tuesday morning as I draft this), such has been the underlying indifference around the fixture and my disappointment.
But when I woke up yesterday morning, I thought I'd take a look at what this may mean based on last season's first matches… and while it's a bit of a mixed bag, it's far from the Armageddon some online bed-wetters have already made it out to be.

The pricing of food and drinks inside World Cup stadiums in the United States has once again sparked debate on social media.
While the World Cup has clearly been a huge success thus far, there has been a lot of talk about the price difference in American stadiums.
It has been a long running theme of this tournament and it generally provokes debate online. Some are used to such pricing structures, while others continue to rail against them.
Indeed, there was yet more criticism after an image supposedly taken at the Houston Stadium went viral on social media platform X.
The popular account ‘Footy Scran’ which boasts over half a million followers posted a photo of what it must be said looks like a rather average hot dog at the Houston Stadium – otherwise known as NRG Stadium – during Canada’s game with Morocco in the round of 16.

The differences between the match-going experience in Europe and the United States has been the subject of much debate at the FIFA World Cup 2026.
So much has been made about the prices in the United States compared to those that soccer fans generally encounter around the world.
That, along with the difference in atmosphere and the hydration breaks, have been major talking points during this year's tournament.
There's nothing quite like a supporter who is not accustomed to US food and pricing expressing their surprise at photos posted online, however. It is a theme of this year's World Cup, after all.
The popular Footy Scran account on social media shared an image of a rather sad looking potato and cheese dumpling in a box, an image that was reportedly taken at the France vs Iraq game held at the Philadelphia Stadium in Philadelphia.

World Cup stadium concessions have become a daily talking point. Almost every match seems to bring a new photo of food or drink that leaves fans questioning how prices reached this level.
The Mercedes-Benz Arena has been one of the few exceptions to that mood. Elsewhere, complaints have focused on expensive items that supporters feel do not match the cost.
This Thursday brought another example from Toronto Stadium. A brisket sandwich, crisps and a ***** e were enough to restart the debate.
The latest criticism came after X account “Footy Scran” shared the price of a stadium meal in Toronto.
According to the post, a brisket sandwich with crisps and a ***** e cost $39.83 Canadian dollars, around $28.18 United States dollars.

Manchester United’s 2026/27 third kit is reportedly inspired by the Lancashire Rose and Salford Lads Club, according to reporting from UtdDistrict, with the design drawing on two of the most culturally significant symbols in the club’s immediate geography. The shirt is expected to launch in August 2026, completing a three-kit cycle that leans heavily on historical and local reference points.
Footy Headlines describe the third as a direct homage to the Salford area, incorporating the twin Lancashire roses that flank the entrance of Salford Lads Club – the Grade II listed youth club on Coronation Street that has served local communities since 1903. The third sits alongside a home shirt nodding to 1970s United and an away kit revisiting the late-1980s royal blue adidas template, making it the most overtly local of the three offerings.
Full confirmed details on the colour palette and exact graphic execution are still pending an official unveiling, but the design inspiration is reported to centre on the gold Lancashire roses synonymous with the Salford Lads Club’s distinctive green-panelled entrance. The shirt will carry the modern adidas Performance logo rather than the retro Trefoil used on the 2025/26 third, maintaining continuity with the current on-pitch range.
This is not new territory for United or adidas. The 2019/20 third kit used a tonal rose pattern on a dark base to mark 110 years since the 1909 FA Cup win – the club’s first – explicitly framing the Lancashire rose as foundational to United’s early identity. The 2023/24 home shirt went further still, with adidas design director Inigo Turner describing the red rose as a symbol that “evokes a great sense of pride in the people of Manchester,” embedding a rose-inspired geometric pattern and a collar detail to match.
Salford Lads Club’s cultural footprint extends well beyond football. Its entrance became internationally recognisable after featuring on the inner sleeve of The Smiths’ 1986 album The Queen Is Dead, turning the building into a pilgrimage site for music fans from across the world – many of whom overlap, naturally, with United’s global support base. The gold roses on those green panels are as specific a piece of Salford iconography as anything the city holds.
