Music legend Dolly Parton spent decades as one of country music's most beloved icons, but a new report claims that image never won over longtime Vogue editor Anna Wintour, who reportedly turned her away from the magazine's cover multiple times. Parton, 80, died on August 25 in Nashville following a brief battle with cancer.
In the Saturday, September 5 edition of journalist Rob Shuter's Naughty But Nice Substack, sources claimed Parton was pitched for the cover of American Vogue at least four times during Wintour's decades at the magazine and was repeatedly turned down.

"Anna thought Dolly was too country, too camp and too tacky for Vogue," an insider told Naughty But Nice. "She looked at Dolly and saw rhinestones. The rest of America saw an icon. Anna completely missed it."
Shuter, who previously worked as a publicist, also wrote that he witnessed Wintour's approach to celebrity fashion firsthand. According to his account, Jessica Simpson, Alicia Keys and Jennifer Lopez also faced resistance before gaining greater acceptance within the fashion world.

The ex-boyfriend of Lindsie Chrisley, David Landsman, has been indicted on multiple counts of aggravated ****** ault and false imprisonment for an April 2026 incident in which he is accused of attacking the reality star.
According to court records obtained by People, a Cherokee County grand jury indicted Landsman on two counts of aggravated ****** ault, one count of false imprisonment, and battery. He is accused of ****** aulting Chrisley on April 10 after allegedly "applying pressure to the throat and neck" and "forcibly throwing her and slamming her to the ground."
The indictment claims that Chrisley suffered "substantial physical harm" from the ****** ault, resulting in lacerations and bruising, as well as bleeding from her head.
A representative for Chrisley told People that she "did not contact law enforcement regarding this matter and is focused on herself and her family during this incredibly difficult and deeply personal time."

Former royal butler Grant Harrold has reportedly claimed that Queen Elizabeth's daughter, Princess Anne, will carry out her mother's royal duties now. According to Harrold, Anne will follow in her mother's footsteps and work relentlessly to support her brother and the royal family for as long as she can.
Harrold spoke to OLBG (via The Daily Express): "I don't really see any sign of Princess Anne slowing down her royal duties; she is a workaholic. Ariana Grande plans to step away from the public eye following scrutiny, a representative told People, as discussion swirls around her health.
The representative told People that Grande will take "a step back from visibility after she completes the Eternal Sunshine Tour," which will wrap next month.
Following the announcement, Empire Street Productions confirmed that Grande has "decided to step back" from the revival of Stephen Sondheim's "Sunday in the Park With George," which will open at the Barbican Center in London next summer.
Grande was set to star as both Dot and Marie in the musical, opposite her "Wicked" co-star Jonathan Bailey.
"We know this cannot have been an easy decision, and she makes it with our complete understanding and support," the production company said. "We wish her nothing but the best."
