Over the last eight months or so, there has been a conversation, mostly quiet but occasionally quite public, about whether the ACC should dump Notre Dame.
This first came up when both Notre Dame and Miami were candidates for the NCAA playoffs.
Since the Irish compete as an independent in football, it should come as no surprise that the ACC pushed full member Miami.
Apparently though, it was a surprise for Notre Dame, and A.D. Pete Bevacqua ripped the conference for it, saying it caused "permanent damage" to the partnership.
