Morgan Burtwistle, known as Angryginge and winner of I'm A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here!, has revealed he received a torrent of online abuse after confronting alleged racism at an England World Cup match.
The social media star attempted to have a man removed from England's 0-0 draw with Ghana at the World Cup at Boston Stadium on Tuesday, after accusing him of making racist remarks.
Burtwistle shared screenshots on his Instagram story displaying numerous abusive and threatening comments, captioned with: "Standing up to racism gets you this? What a world we live in."
In a YouTube video posted on Thursday, Burtwistle, 24, recounted the incident: "The man sat in front was making incredibly racist comments towards the Ghanaian national team. Due to this, it was only right for me to stand up and deal with this. Watch how the stewards deal with this it is actually embarrassing."
He explained that a steward initially told him they "can't kick him out", and although the man appeared to leave, Burtwistle later confirmed he had not been removed from the game.
