Hyperliquid (HYPE) has gone down by 7% today and has accumulated a 15% drop in the past 7 days after a handful of whales reportedly cashed out on their early HYPE bets.
Yesterday, the crypto ****** ytics firm Lookonchain revealed that Multicoin Capital transferred nearly 400,000 HYPE tokens to Coinbase Prime and requested to unstake almost 212,000 tokens less than a month after they published a bullish report on this cryptocurrency.
In a piece ****** led "Hyperliquid (HYPE) ****** ysis & Valuation," Multicoin stated that "Hyperliquid's trajectory looks eerily similar to Binance's early years."
They also set forth a long-term target of $319 for the token, claiming that, at $63, it was currently trading at 36 times its trailing twelve months (TTM) earnings. They projected $8 billion in annual profits by 2028, which, at a 20x price-to-earnings (P/E) multiple, results in a potential 5x gain.
However, this recent move to cash out of Hyperliquid's short-term gains has raised eyebrows about the firm's motivations to publish this report among the crypto community.

How hard do you have to ram a fish to make it explode? Ask an orca.
Barreling into large, heavy fish with enough force to blast them into instant chum is a previously unknown collaborative feeding strategy among orcas, scientifically called Orcinus orca, also known as killer whales.
But in 2024 and 2025, divers captured underwater video of two such events in the Mexican Pacific Ocean and in the Gulf of California. The footage suggests that the brutal body slamming may be in service of a meal — or perhaps a form of play for the orcas, researchers reported Thursday in the journal Frontiers in Ethology.
"I filmed the first event several years ago and couldn't believe what I was witnessing," said lead study author Kathryn Ayres, a research scientist for the marine conservation nonprofit Beneath the Waves and the first to capture orcas' high-speed ramming on video.
Ayres studies sharks but observing orcas that preyed on sharks in the Gulf of California sparked her interest in killer whale behavior. She filmed the encounter on July 29, 2024, while diving as an ocean safari tour guide with the group Latitude Encounters, near the coast of San José del Cabo in the Mexican state of Baja California Sur.

Four beluga whales were welcomed into their new home Chicago's Shedd Aquarium on Tuesday after they were rescued from a failed aquatic park in Canada. They're just a few of the 30 whales that were left behind when Marineland closed last year. The other whales are headed to facilities in Atlanta, San Antonio and San Diego.

Relocations for the first of dozens of beluga whales that remained at the now-shuttered Marineland Canada have begun, according to the aquariums **** isting in the rescue.
Marineland Canada, located in Niagara Falls, Ontario, closed in September 2024 in the wake of controversy and allegations of animal abuse, CBC reported. Thirty beluga whales remained at the facility -- their care funded by donations. But once those donations ran out, their caretakers worried that euthanasia might be imminent -- asking the Canadian government in October 2025 for funds to feed the marine mammals.

Veterinarians **** sed the belugas' fitness for travel before they were loaded into specialized cold-water containers and transported by truck and plane, the aquariums said. As Congress debates new regulations around artificial intelligence and cryptocurrency, lawmakers' stock portfolios have surged in recent years toward investments in these sectors.
A tracker of the top 50 lawmaker holdings from the financial data platform Unusual Whales shows over $270 million invested directly in top tech stocks, with tens of millions more invested indirectly through market-tracking funds.
It is a level of consolidation that mirrors trends seen in the larger market, with tech far and away the favored sector among lawmakers: 7 of the 8 most popular individual stocks seen in the data are technology companies.
Nvidia (NVDA) is a bipartisan favorite, with about $43 million in lawmakers' accounts. Other tech giants, including Apple (AAPL), Alphabet (GOOG), and Microsoft (MSFT), also have tens of millions of dollars each in investment.
This represents a significant shift from recent years, when the proportion of tech holdings was much lower and was primarily seen in Democrats' portfolios.

Older Humpbacks Prove Better at Wooing Mates
As humpback whale populations recover, researchers are gaining a richer understanding of these wondrous creatures. A new study suggests it may take years for humpbacks to learn how to successfully serenade a mate.

Since countries agreed to ban commercial whaling in 1986, humpback whales have been rebounding and have nearly recovered in some regions.

Every animal with a brain needs sleep — and even a few without a brain do, too. Humans sleep, birds sleep, whales sleep and even jellyfish sleep.
Sleep is universal “even though it’s actually very risky,” said Paul-Antoine Libourel, a researcher at the Neuroscience Research Center of Lyon in France.
When animals nod off, they're most vulnerable to sneaky predators. But despite the risks, the need for sleep is so strong that no creature can skip it altogether, even when it's highly inconvenient.

Researchers have observed an increase in the number of whale entanglements in Australian waters. Fishing gear and shark nets can injure and trap marine life, which can contribute to slow, torturous deaths.
