The worst position group for the Cleveland Browns last year was arguably the wide receiver group. GM Andrew Berry took on the ****** ignment to improve this group and get them out of the hole of being ranked #32 last year. In case you are scoring at home, that is dead last.
In the April draft, Berry selected KC Concepcion of Texas A&M in Round 1, and then with his very next pick he chose Washington's Denzel Boston.

Each NFL club usually retains five or six receivers. For the Browns, Jerry Jeudy and the two rookies are a lock. The coaching staff really likes the development of Isaiah Bond. That leaves two spots.
Berry signed Tylan Wallace from the Baltimore Ravens, who is a receiver but was inked for his return skills. But still, he would count as one of the six spots.

Philadelphia Waterdogs attackman CJ Kirst talks PLL playoffs, Rob Pannell's points record, and more originally appeared on The Sporting News. Add The Sporting News as a Preferred Source by clicking here.
Philadelphia Waterdogs attackman CJ Kirst enters Saturday's regular season matchup with the New York Atlas at Subaru Park in Chester, PA, with the chance to break the PLL's all-time single-season goal record. Marcus Holman has held that record (30) since 2023. If Kirst doesn't get the record-breaking 31st goal on Saturday, he'll have the chance again on Sunday against the Maryland Whipsnakes in the regular-season finale.
Maryland, of course, has the all-time record holder for points in outdoor lacrosse, Rob Pannell. As Kirst told me, Pannell has been a mentor since his days at Cornell. Pannell was a Big Red lax legend over a decade before Kirst arrived in Ithaca.
I spoke with Kirst about Pannell's record that was set in July, and whether he's eyeing it, the PLL playoffs, and the Global Lacrosse Games ahead of his potentially historic weekend in the Philly metro.

Los Angeles Lakers fans are left wondering what the franchise will do with Bronny James. The young guard has been mentioned in frequent trade speculation, but the Lakers may end up holding on to James.
The Philadelphia 76ers naturally come to mind when projecting where James could end up next. Do the Lakers believe in him as a long-term piece? Maybe a little. Would the Lakers trade him for next to little return? Probably not, according to team insider Khobi Price.
"While LeBron and Bronny could be teammates for the 2026-27 season on LeBron’s next team, it also isn’t guaranteed the Lakers will trade the younger James to his father’s next destination,” Price wrote. “As has been described to the California Post, there’s a real possibility the Lakers will keep Bronny on their roster going into next season, even as they continue to tinker with their roster to be compliant with the league’s roster rules before Opening Night in October.”

STILLWATER — Spring was a strange time for Stailee Heard.
OSU women's basketball was fresh off its first NCAA Tournament win in five seasons, yet all the Cowgirls who contributed to that run were gone. All but one. All but Heard, the senior from Sapulpa.
Micah Gray and Haleigh Timmer had graduated. Achol Akot (North Carolina) and Jadyn Wooten (TCU) had transferred. So had Amari Whiting (Iowa) and Lena Girardi (Utah).
Even Heard's little sister, Tyla, had transferred (Akron).
But Heard remained in Stillwater.
