Manchester City rescued a late win at the Etihad this afternoon, coming from behind to score an 85th-minute equaliser and a 92nd-minute winner to ****** all three points.
Marcus Tavernier opened the scoring for Bournemouth before the half-hour mark, when he found himself in plenty of ****** e in the area before firing home.
Marc Guéhi headed home the leveller for City late in the day, making up for a guilt-edged miss earlier in the match. However, the real headlines were written by Josko Gvardiol, who broke free in the box in injury time and slotted into the bottom corner to win the match for City.
Enzo Maresca made two changes to his starting XI this afternoon, following his side's 3-0 defeat to ****** nal in the Community Shield last weekend. Those changes saw Rico Lewis and Guéhi replace Jérémy Doku and Mateo Kovacic, whilst a new-look Erling Haaland made a landmark 200th appearance for The Citizens.

David Moyes is at the Hill ***** inson Stadium and Goodison Park with the Toffees. Everton have made an official enquiry about Bournemouth attacker Marcus Tavernier, exploring the parameters of a potential summer move, according to Ben Jacobs.
The Toffees have opened dialogue with the player's representatives to gauge his interest in a move to Merseyside, but have yet to hold talks with Bournemouth.
Tavernier has become a key and versatile player since joining Bournemouth from Middlesbrough in 2022. Able to operate across both flanks, as an attacking midfielder, or in a box-to-box role, his tactical flexibility makes him an attractive target for Everton as they look to build squad depth ahead of next season.
Last season, Tavernier enjoyed one of his most productive Premier League campaigns, recording seven goals and four ***** ists in 34 appearances, while creating 54 chances to lead Bournemouth's playmaking metrics. His work rate, ball-carrying ability, and set-piece threat make him a crucial figure for the Cherries.
Despite Everton testing the waters with Tavernier's representatives, striking a deal with Bournemouth will be challenging. The South Coast club are under no financial pressure to sell, having tied Tavernier to a contract until June 2029. Furthermore, with European football ahead after a sixth-place finish last season, Bournemouth are unlikely to part with a key player at this stage of the window.

Derek McInnes will officially begin his reign as Rangers boss with a trip to Tannadice Park on Friday night. Despite snapping up seven new names, the Scotsman is expected to be backed with further additions before the window is slammed shut next month. But the focus must be on the upcoming clash with Dundee United, as a victory on the road should boost the Gers ahead of their crucial Europa League qualifier against Jagiellonia Białystok.
Although their most recent encounter finished 4-2 in favour of Rangers, a last-gasp spot-kick from Nedim Bajrami saw them escape defeat when they clashed heads in Dundee back in December. It won't be a stroll in the park for the Glasgow giants, and it remains to be seen whether McInnes replicates last season's tactical mastery while in charge of Hearts.
The Light Blues have replaced Jack Butland with Ivor Pandur, as the former Hull City goalkeeper has been roped in as the new 'number 1'. Veteran Liam Kelly would continue as the understudy to the Croatian following his contract renewal earlier this summer.

James Tavernier's departure has left a massive void down the right-hand side. Ross McCrorie has returned to his boyhood club, but the gaffer should rely on Dujon Sterling, who has impressed as a fullback in their pre-season outings. Ben Godfrey, snapped up on a season-long loan from Atalanta, is expected to feature alongside Emmanuel Fernandez in the heart of the backline. Tuur Rommens has been a revelation since his January arrival, and his presence on the left would offer a perfect balance between defence and attack.

Lawrence Shankland says being named Rangers captain has exceeded the dream he had of playing for his boyhood team.
The 30-year-old striker only joined the club two months ago from Hearts, where he also wore the armband and scored 88 goals in 171 games.
The Scotland forward succeeds previous long-serving captain James Tavernier, who led the Ibrox side to a Europa League final and won the Scottish Premiership, Scottish Cup and League Cup during his 11 years in Govan.
The news comes two days before Derek McInnes' side starts their league campaign at Dundee United on Friday (20:00 BST).
"As a lifelong supporter, it was a dream to be here in the first place, but to get the opportunity to captain the club is a huge honour," Shankland said.

The transfer market is waking up. Right on cue, Bournemouth find themselves fighting to keep hold of their brightest sparks after a stellar run to sixth place under Andoni Iraola. Word from the recruitment grapevine suggests a major scrap is brewing for Marcus Tavernier. Aston Villa and Fulham have already put down formal markers, asking the Cherries what it would take to pry him away from the Vitality Stadium. Then there is Liverpool.
Anfield scouts spent the final months of the campaign practically living on the south coast, taking detailed notes on the 27-year-old. Bournemouth hold all the aces right now, though. Tavernier signed a hefty contract extension keeping him tied down until June 2029.
Because of that security, the hierarchy won't even look at offers below £30m. Seven goals and four ******* ists in 34 top-flight games have inflated that price tag, capped off by a lovely finish against Nottingham Forest on the final day. He's a proper workhorse, the kind of left-footed wide man who triggers a press and leaves everything on the pitch.

Look at Villa's current squad. Do they actually need him? Unai Emery has to juggle Europe and domestic cups next term, sure, but the squad depth out wide isn't the issue. Morgan Rogers has been brilliant. His rise under the Basque manager has been nothing short of meteoric. Leon Bailey offers that raw, terrifying pace that stretches backlines in a way Tavernier simply can't mimic. Spending £30m on someone destined to sit on the bench looks like a massive waste of resources. However, it's a different case if Rogers is sold. Meanwhile, the money needs to go elsewhere.

If a recent report from Rangers News (as cited by The Daily Record) is believed to be true, Rangers are in direct contact with Hampus Skoglund’s representatives ahead of a potential summer move. They are also monitoring his former U21 Sweden teammate Casper Widell, and the Excelsior centre-back could also be roped in alongside the Hammarby right-back.
The 22-year-old defender, who is representing his nation at the U21 level, progressed through IK Frej and Hammarby’s academy ranks before breaking into the latter’s reserves in the third tier of Swedish football. Skoglund was soon promoted to their senior side, as he has so far appeared 80 times for Bajen across competitions.
Although both Rangers and Schalke have been keeping close tabs on the youngster for quite some time, the Glasgow giants are now accelerating talks to restore parity in the right-back role. James Tavernier decided to part ways after an illustrious career, and the club are weighing up alternatives, including Skoglund.

Besides Tavernier, Danny Rohl deployed Dujon Sterling and Max Aarons on the right-hand side of a ‘back four’ setup. Sterling impressed with his energetic runs and attacking prowess, but the gaffer could not rely on him week in, week out due to his persistent injury woes. Max Aarons, on loan from Bournemouth, failed to cement a regular spot and is now back at his parent club, as he is unlikely to return to Ibrox for one more season.
