LAS VEGAS — When the Miami Dolphins open the 2026 season against the Las Vegas Raiders, nearly a quarter of their active roster will consist of rookies. The Dolphins have 13 of them, most in the NFL, all with a story to tell on the road to realize their dreams.
For fullback DJ Herman, his reality exceeds anything he could have dreamed.
"I'm even more stoked than probably some of these other rookies because I'm going back to my hometown, where it all started, in Las Vegas," Herman said.
Herman figures "all the stars aligned" for his big day to be wrapped in a family reunion and personal cheering section about 50 strong.

AEW's arrival at London's Wembley Stadium in 2023 for its inaugural All In event represented a seismic shift in the wrestling landscape. The organization, considered a mere challenger brand, packed more than 70,000 fans into the iconic UK stadium.
Around that same time, the company that prided itself on being a place to find the best wrestling in the world had ambitious aspirations of adding to its roster Mercedes Moné, one of the best women's wrestlers of her generation. Moné's unexpected arrival in the stands at that very first AEW All In show only stoked those flames as the former Sasha Banks recovered from a devastating ankle injury suffered against Willow Nightingale.
Now, three years later, AEW returns to Wembley once again, where Moné will attempt to win the one **** le she has yet to hold: the AEW Women's World Championship.
"I knew after [the first show at] Wembley, my heart was so set on AEW," Moné told Uncrowned ahead of AEW All In 2026 this Sunday.
"I loved the energy of Wembley. I love the fans there. I love the matches, and everything just aligned and felt so right. I'm so excited for this year. I'm excited to feel the same energy as I did when I barely was able to walk in with my crutches, sitting there as a fan."

Aug 26 (Reuters) - Global stocks edged up and weaker oil prices pushed bond yields lower on Wednesday on hopes that the vital Strait of Hormuz could soon reopen, while investors awaited U.S. inflation data and another pivotal earnings report from ‌AI heavyweight Nvidia.
Iran and Oman said they had discussed "a joint temporary navigational corridor" through the Strait of Hormuz and agreed to clear it ‌of mines, rejuvenating hopes for a breakthrough in the nearly six-month conflict that has roiled oil markets and stoked global inflationary worries.
Brent crude futures fell for a third straight day on Wednesday, sliding nearly 3% to $85.95 per barrel on the prospect of more supply coming through the Strait, which handled a fifth of the world's traded oil before the war.
That helped push short-term bond yields, sensitive to central bank interest rate expectations, lower.

It's college football's week 0, and while we've still got some time before the Bulldogs kick off, the news from elsewhere is flowing free and fast. Let's take a quick spin around and see what's up.
Alabama has named sophomore Keelon Russell its starting quarterback over senior Austin Mack. It isn't a surprising outcome, as the former five star would eventually take over. But Bama fans are super stoked nonetheless.
Tennessee coach Josh Heupel on the other hand hasn't named a starter, but appears to be leaning toward freshman Faizon Brandon.Heupel has been saying all the right things publicly about going with the QB who brings the right mix of maturity and leadership to the role. But deep down I think there's something else at play: in the NIL era you can't bring in a multi-million dollar blue chipper like Brandon and afford to sit them on the bench. It's one reason I think Kirby Smart's emphasis on rewarding proven upperclassmen may be the smartest strategy in the NIL era.
Lane Kiffin on the other hand isn't so stoked about his tight end rotation, which is why he's apparently beating the bushes of the NFL for players who are on pro rosters but could come back to college now that a judge in Colorado has decided players in the 2022 class should have a fifth year of eligibility.
Though the buried lede in this story has to be that Kiffin apparently called Todd Monken to talk about whether he could have Monken's rookie tight end, and Monken didn't return his call. That goes on the long list of reasons I like Todd Monken.

The Dow Jones Industrial Average and other major indexes rose Friday, as the stock market looked to rebound from the previous session's sell-off stoked by geopolitical concerns. With risk appetite rising, bitcoin climbed to a three-month high and thrust crypto-linked companies higher on stock market today. The cryptocurrency's price has spiked up roughly 20% for the week.
Just after Friday's open, the Dow industrials rose 0.5%, as the S&P 500 gained 0.4%. The tech-heavy Nasdaq composite also bounced 0.4% in morning trading. On Thursday, the Dow industrials tumbled 700 points, or 1.3%, and the S&P 500 moved down 0.9%. The tech-heavy Nasdaq composite lost 1%, and the small-cap Russell 2000 fell 1.3%.
Bitcoin surged nearly 6% to roughly $76,700 and sparking big rallies in crypto stocks Coinbase Global (COIN), Circle Internet (CRCL) and Strategy (MSTR). All three were up nearly 5% or more in recent action. Optimism about the Clarity Act crypto bill's passage in Washington helped push bitcoin higher.
Meanwhile, West Texas Intermediate crude futures inched higher to around $86.90 a barrel. The 10-year Treasury yield rose 2 basis points to 4.72%.
Among exchange traded funds, the Invesco QQQ (QQQ) was up 0.5%, as the State Street SPDR S&P 500 (SPY) rose 0.4% after Friday's opening bell.

MUMBAI, Aug 19 (Reuters) - India's rate panel left the door open to future rate hikes earlier this month, watching for evidence that supply-sparked ‌inflation may be seeping into the broader economy which could merit higher ‌borrowing costs, minutes of the committee's meeting released on Wednesday showed.
A sharp rise in oil prices brought on by the Iran war has stoked inflation worries, prompting markets to wager on rate hikes, while also exerting pressure on the Indian rupee.
The panel had voted unanimously to keep the policy repo rate (INREPO=ECI) unchanged at 5.25% on August 5, while retaining ‌its monetary policy stance at "neutral".
India's headline consumer inflation remained well within the central bank's 2-6% tolerance band at 4.45% in July. The Reserve Bank of India has a 4% medium term target.
While there are limited signs of inflation becoming generalized so far, headline inflation does appear to be normalizing "from its benign levels seen hitherto," RBI Chief Sanjay Malhotra said in the minutes.

The rivalry between Purdue and Indiana has lost some steam in recent years, but Purdue Boilermakers athletic director Tommy McClellan stoked the fire in his initial press conference. He took a shot at Indiana football, saying, "We are here to win championships. If you don't want to win championships, go to Indiana."
It's a confusing jab to make at this point, since the Indiana Hoosiers are coming off a 2025 season where they went undefeated national champions. They put up the second-highest point differential (+479) for any team in college football history, behind the 2013 Florida State Seminoles, and they won their three College Football Playoff games by an average of 25 points per game.
Purdue, on the other hand, is coming off a 2025 season where they had a -157 point differential, ranking No. 4 for worst point differential among Power 4 opponents. The Boilermakers went 2-10, including 0-9 in the Big Ten. They have yet to make a bowl game since 2022, and they haven't won a national championship since 1931 (they didn't claim it).
The Purdue vs. Indiana rivalry, also known as the "Old Oaken Bucket" rivalry, has been lopsided as of late. Although Purdue has the series lead, with a 77-44-6 record all-time, they've lost the last two games 66-0 (2024) and 56-3 (2025). McClellan and the Boilermakers will get to walk the walk against Indiana on Nov. 28, 2026.

Mililani collected nine of 13 first-place votes to claim the No. 1 ranking in the first Honolulu Star-Advertiser Football Top 10 of the season.
The Trojans are stoked about the arrival of two major offensive playmakers: quarterback Hunter Fujikawa and wide receiver Zion White. The two played together as sophomores at Punahou in 2024. White transferred to IMG Academy as a junior, but returned to the islands this year.
Fujikawa played three seasons at Punahou before enrolling at Mililani for his senior year.
Defending Open Division state champion Campbell received three first-place votes and is No. 2. On Friday, the Sabers will visit No. 7 Waipahu. Campbell will not host a football game this fall, the third year in a row without a home contest due to lingering facility issues.
Kahuku, under first-year head coach David Stant, garnered one first-place vote and opens the season at No. 3. Stant was the offensive coordinator last year. In 2009, he guided Kamehameha to a state championship.

A remark in Bret Bielema's introductory statement Tuesday at Big Ten Media Days lingered until he was asked about it. When the question arrived minutes later, he knew what he had done.
"Well, I think I just made the headline, right?"
Yes, but not only that — the sixth-year Illinois head coach also stoked the flames of a fiery debate about college football's most dominant conference.
While at the podium discussing the sport's ever-changing landscape, Bielema conveyed his excitement about the state of both his program and the game overall. Soon after that, he took a swing at the SEC, the conference he coached in for five seasons from 2013-17 as Arkansas' frontman.
"They kind of want to live in 2005 forever," he noted mid-sentence. That line followed Bielema touting the vision of Big Ten commissioner Tony Petitti and acknowledging that his former commissioner, Greg Sankey, has to protect the SEC.

Editor's note: Get live updates on LeBron James joining the Philadelphia 76ers here.
Having LeBron James as a teammate must feel like winning the lottery.
Philadelphia 76ers guard VJ Edgecombe seemed pretty stoked after the NBA's all-time scorer announced he was joining the team with a two-year, $8 million contract on Friday, July 24.
Edgecombe, who won the Rising Stars Challenge MVP award at this year's NBA All-Star festivities, posted the celebration to his Instagram stories shortly after the news broke. He shared a photo of himself holding his hand to his head looking up at the camera smiling in the same way as James' famous "Smiling through it all! Can't believe this my life" Instagram story.
After James made the original post in 2018, the pool photo and caption instantly became a meme. His son Bryce also posted a version of the photo in 2024.

Everton have stolen a march on Europe’s elite. According to reports from Africa Foot, via Sport Witness, the Toffees have tabled a formal opening bid for Bayer Leverkusen’s teenage sensation Christian Kofane. It is an unexpected, aggressive twist to the summer window.
The Merseysiders are long-term admirers. They tracked the 19-year-old Cameroon international well before his five million euro move from Albacete Balompié to Germany last July. Now, David Moyes has authorised a massive gamble to bring him to Goodison Park.
It is a crowded race. **** nal previously led the queue, with Barcelona, Newcastle United, Chelsea, and Bayern Munich all sniffing around. The hype is real, stoked by agent Eric Depolo, who publicly branded his client a future hundred-million-euro **** et. Leverkusen are playing hardball, too, demanding that exact nine-figure sum. Moyes, however, needs a reliable frontman right now to replace underperforming attackers, and the Goodison board are waiting on a response.
LONDON, ENGLAND – MARCH 17: Christian Kofane of Bayer 04 Leverkusen runs with the ball during the UEFA Champions League 2025/26 Round of 16 Second Leg match between **** nal FC and Bayer 04 Leverkusen at **** nal Stadium on March 17, 2026 in London, England. (Photo by Warren Little/Getty Images)
Fiscally, Everton are on a tightrope. Paying anything near Leverkusen’s public valuation is an absurd, unjustifiable risk for a player with so little top-flight experience.

The Washington Commanders selected linebacker Sonny Styles with the No. 7 pick in the 2026 NFL Draft. Adam Peters and Dan Quinn were very excited that Styles fell to them at No. 7, and it's not a secret that Styles is stoked to be in Washington.
We've all seen Styles say the right things on camera and portray himself as not just a phenomenal football player, but a decent human being. He's essentially the entire package, and former Washington Redskins cornerback DeAngelo Hall had some high praise for the rookie linebacker. He was asked about the impact Styles will have on Dan Quinn's defense.
He is a freaky athlete. He is a guy who can just make all types of plays all over the field.
For the Commanders, it’s just a great situation. They had Bobby Wagner, who will have a gold jacket after his career, in the middle of that defense for a couple of years. He is one of the best pros I’ve seen in a long time. Now they’ve replaced him with Styles, who is a freak athlete.
Wagner is still a free agent. The Commanders could be in a perfect situation if they can find a way to bring him back. He’d be able to teach Styles the process of becoming a great player in the NFL. Styles would learn a lot from Wagner when it comes to how to be a pro, how to take care of his body, and how to break down film.

Global oil supply is rebounding faster than expected, easing crude shortage fears.
Brent crude has tumbled from $126 to $73 as Gulf producers ramp up output.
Wall Street is cutting oil price forecasts as supply recovers and demand softens.
The oil market has gone from fearing a supply shock to worrying about too much crude.
International Brent crude oil futures were trading around $73 a barrel early on Tuesday. That is roughly back to prewar levels after topping $126 in April as the Iran conflict stoked fears of a major disruption to global oil flows.

The deaths of three U.S. government firefighters in a Colorado wildfire are casting a spotlight on the Trump administration's creation of a new federal fire service and its revival of a previously discredited policy to stomp out all wildfires quickly.
One of the killed firefighters worked for the U.S. Wildland Fire Service, established this year without customary congressional approval by drawing personnel from four agencies within the Interior Department. The victims were part of an elite, helicopter-based crew that got trapped Saturday in a fast-growing wildfire near the Utah border as they attacked the blaze on the ground.
Five firefighters, including the ones who died, tried to shield themselves by deploying tentlike emergency shelters as flames overran their position. The two survivors were hospitalized with burn injuries.
The consolidation of thousands of personnel into the fire service has sown confusion among some firefighters about who their bosses are and what their responsibilities should be, according to former government officials.
And the administration's focus on "full suppression" of new fires marks a sharp reversal from a decades-long trend toward embracing flames as a tool — to burn off old vegetation and growth that acts like fuel and lessen the risk of catastrophic blazes being stoked by a warming planet.

LONDON, June 30 (Reuters) - More of the world's central banks plan to cut dollar allocations than increase them in the coming decade as political risks ******* ociated with the U.S. currency rise, an OMFIF survey of public investors released ‌on Tuesday showed.
It is the first time the survey, carried out by the Official Monetary and Financial Institutions Forum, has found ‌such a shift away from the dollar.
The findings dovetail with a global debate about the U.S. dollar's role as the primary reserve currency that has been stoked by U.S. policy uncertainty and heightened geopolitical risks.
The London-based thinktank set up in 2010 also found an eagerness among the 90 central banks, public pension funds and sovereign funds surveyed to significantly increase the use of AI from current levels.

In many ways, it was just a routine substitution in the 91st minute of New Zealand’s first group game against Iran.
Defender Tyler Bindon came on for midfielder Marko Stamenic as they tried to close out a pretty good 2-2 draw for the Kiwis. Pretty standard stuff, nothing to get too excited about.
But this was actually a moment of World Cup history. Why? Because Bindon’s introduction meant this was the first ever time that a mother and son had both played at a World Cup.
Goalkeeper Jenny Bindon was born and raised in Illinois, but met New Zealand volleyball player Grant Bindon at Lewis University, moved there after getting married and went on to play 77 times for the New Zealand national team. Three of those appearances came at the 2007 Women’s World Cup in China.
“It’s a funny one because [before this World Cup] I said to people, ‘I think this is happening,’” Jenny tells The Athletic. She tried to figure out if anyone else had done this. “I was trying to think ‘OK, who had kids when I was playing?’ But I couldn’t think of anyone, so I was like…this might actually be a thing. So [when we found out] it was really cool, and we’re pretty stoked.”

For the first time this week, Emma Raducanu sat on her chair and looked forlorn.
The British number one had finally succumbed to Croatia's Donna Vekic in a slow-burning Queen's final, unable to save a fifth Championship point and continue a match which she had admirably stoked into a scrap.
The 23-year-old has undoubtedly enjoyed a productive week at the quaint club nestled in the Victorian terraces of west London.
But missing out on a first WTA Tour **** le - and a first trophy since that unforgettable US Open victory in 2021 - still hurt.
"Right now it obviously really stings, so I'm just going to try and let myself feel it today - but try and get over it pretty quick," Raducanu said.
