Real Madrid kicks off its Champions League campaign against Inter Milan on Tuesday, with new coach Jose Mourinho aiming to win the trophy for a third time.
Mourinho is back at Madrid for a second spell after last managing the club in from 2010-13.
He won a league ****** le and the Spanish cup during that time, but not the Champions League. Since then Madrid has gone on to dominate European club soccer's biggest trophy, winning it six more times and extending its record to 15 ****** les.
And while another Champions League would see Mourinho join Pep Guardiola, Luis Enrique, Zinedine Zidane and Bob Paisley on three wins, he doesn't feel the need to make up for the fact that he was unable to lift the trophy when he was last at Madrid.
"I finished my work here in 2013. We won what we won, and we lost what we lost. We gave everything, but it's a closed chapter," Mourinho said. "This has nothing to do with the past — absolutely nothing. These are two different moments in Real Madrid's history.

Dolly Parton's sister Stella Parton is condemning the deluge of misinformation being spread in the wake of the country star's death.
The younger Parton, 77, took time from her morning "coffee hour" Friday, Sept. 4, to express how such online negativity has taken an emotional toll on her family as they continue grieving the "I Will Always Love You" singer, who died Aug. 25 at age 80.
In a two-slide statement on Instagram, Stella Parton first thanked the "genuine" supporters who have been kind and respectful during the Parton family's bereavement, then addressed the bad-faith social media users who have been anything but considerate.
"Sadly, because of the way our lives have been lived in front of the public, we have no choice but to be subjected to incredible pressure and insensitivity from strangers," she wrote. "There is a tremendous amount of AI and endless garbage being posted everyday and it's been challenging to absorb and or ignore."

A plaque has been unveiled at the former home of Liverpool Football Club's most successful manager Bob Paisley.
He took over in 1974 after Bill Shankly's shock resignation and in his nine seasons in charge, Paisley won six league **** les, three European Cups, three League Cups, a Uefa Cup, Super Cup and three Charity Shields. He was also manager of the year on six occasions.
Originally from Hetton-le-Hole on the outskirts of Sunderland, Bob Paisley spent 45 years at Liverpool as a player, physiotherapist, coach, **** istant manager, manager and director.
He lived for many years in the Liverpool suburb of Woolton where today a plaque was unveiled at his former home on Bower Road.

Kimberly Williams-Paisley just honored her former on-screen mom, Diane Keaton, in the sweetest way. The actress revealed that she bought Keaton's hat and gloves at auction and wore them in a touching Annie Hall-inspired photo shoot.

She continued her storied career, adding a lengthy list of credits to her resume, starring in popular blockbusters such as The First Wives Club, Something's Gotta Give, The Family Stone, Book Club, and so many more.
Sadly, Keaton passed away on October 11, 2025, at the age of 79 from pneumonia. Williams-Paisley marked the day with a heartfelt Instagram post featuring stills from Father of the Bride II, writing, "Diane, working with you will always be one of the highlights of my life. You are one of a kind, and it was thrilling to be in your orbit for a time. Thank you for your kindness, your generosity, your talent, and above all, your laughter.

Aug. 8 (UPI) -- Kimberly Williams-Paisley says she bought at auction accessories that once belonged to her late Father of the Bride co-star Diane Keaton.

"Recently I bought this hat and gloves from the Diane Keaton auction. I'm so happy to have some of her iconic style with me," Williams-Paisley wrote on Instagram Friday, alongside photos of her wearing the items and channeling Keaton's signature style.
"While my friends and I were carefully unpacking these items and getting ready to shoot this, a gorgeous, gigantic bald eagle landed in a nearby tree, stayed for a moment and then flew off (see video). THIS IS SO RARE!! It definitely felt like Diane's energy was around us! The hat says, 'NO MORE WAR,' and she'd added a skull and crossbones. So, I'm passing along her message."
Keaton died of pneumonia in 2025 at the age of 79.
