The Duke and ******* ss of Sussex are strong advocates for animal rescue, having adopted both of their pooches, Pula, a black Labrador, and Mamma Mia, a beagle, from rescue centres.
And it turns out Meghan's decision to take on their beagle, affectionately nicknamed Mia, was a very specific choice, with the ******* ss "personally" calling up the rescue sanctuary in Virginia to adopt her.
Earlier this week, The Beagle Freedom Project shared a video spotlighting Mia's journey after being rescued in 2022. The charity, which rescued Mamma Mia from a breeding facility alongside her puppies, shared a throwback clip of the pup nursing a litter of puppies before her adoption.
During the video, it was explained that Meghan had personally called the charity's founder, Shannon Keith, to express her interest in adoption.

PA understands the meeting in Morocco was called after the weekend and is also to include secretary general Mattias Grafstrom and the FIFA management board, which includes the organisation's chief of staff Daniel O'Toole, chief legal officer Emilio Garcia Silvero, chief of member ***** ociations Elkhan Mammadov, HR chief Kimberly Morris, media director Bryan Swanson and communications director David Farrelly.
Grafstrom, the second most senior figure in the organisation after Infantino, is also understood to have contacted FIFA staff addressing the "sad and reproachable series of events" of the last week "which thankfully concluded with the project being permanently abandoned".
The plan to create FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE), a company to run the commercial and operational aspects of FIFA's tournaments, first emerged in reports by The Times and the Financial Times last Tuesday, before FIFA issued confirmation of some of the details. The most controversial aspect was the idea to sell 20% of FFE to private investors.

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle took their two children, Archie and Lilibet, to visit the childhood home of the Duke of Sussex's late mother, Princess Diana, during their recent European vacation, it has been revealed.
Meghan, 44, shared several photos from the family's recent trip overseas on her Instagram account, including one image that show her daughter, Lilibet, 5, walking through the grounds of Princess Diana's family estate, Althorp, holding what appears to be a tiny handbag and a blanket.
Harry, 41, and Archie, 7, are pictured strolling just a head of her, both carrying what seem to be bouquets of flowers.
Another snap appears to show Meghan reclining on a sun lounger next to the pool at the estate, cuddling the family's Beagle, Mamma Mia, who is thought to have traveled to Europe with them. Spencer's new wife, Cat Jarman, is seen in the background, along with her husband.
It's understood that the family were invited to the property by Diana's brother, Charles Spencer, who still owns the estate and resides there with his new wife. According to People magazine, the Sussexes "may have visited Diana's burial site, which is located on an island in the middle of the estate's Oval Lake."

Relocations for the first of dozens of beluga whales that remained at the now-shuttered Marineland Canada have begun, according to the aquariums **** isting in the rescue.
Marineland Canada, located in Niagara Falls, Ontario, closed in September 2024 in the wake of controversy and allegations of animal abuse, CBC reported. Thirty beluga whales remained at the facility -- their care funded by donations. But once those donations ran out, their caretakers worried that euthanasia might be imminent -- asking the Canadian government in October 2025 for funds to feed the marine mammals.

On Monday, six of the beluga whales began their journey to their new home, according to several **** ociation of Zoos & Aquariums-accredited aquariums that are collaborating in the rescue.
Veterinarians **** sed the belugas' fitness for travel before they were loaded into specialized cold-water containers and transported by truck and plane, the aquariums said. The belugas, ranging in age from 6 to about 40, have been receiving "top-notch care" and are all in great condition, Eric Otjen, vice president of zoological operations at SeaWorld San Diego, told ABC News.
