Citi has begun coverage of the newly listed The Magnum Ice Cream Company (EURONEXT:MICC, LSE:MICC, NYSE:MICC) with a lukewarm "neutral" rating, warning that the maker of the eponymous chocolate-coated lollies faces a tougher year ahead after a **** per summer.
The broker set a target price of €17.7 on the shares, arguing that kind weather and solid delivery on cost cuts have already pushed Magnum's valuation up to broadly match its European food peers, leaving little room for further gains.
Citi's central doubt is whether the good times can last. A durable re-rating, it said, takes more than one strong season, and history suggests companies leaning on cost-saving stories rarely hold on to lofty valuations for long.
Several clouds loom over next year. The broker flagged the risk that El Niño weather patterns push up ingredient costs in the second half of 2027, which could expose how sensitive take-home ice cream sales are to price rises.
It also cited the spread of GLP-1 weight-loss drugs as a potential drag on demand, alongside the usual uncertainty over weather comparisons.

Happy game week and we hope that you're ready for tomorrow's Penn State game at Temple. Ahead of this matchup, I sent a few questions to Steve Helwick of Underdog Dynasty to preview this game. Steve is a regular around these parts with our opponent Q and A and you should head to our sister site to read more about Temple – and the rest of their conference brethren. Here's what Steve had to say about tomorrow's game.
It's year two for K.C. Keeler at Temple. He went 5-7 in his first year in Philadelphia. What do you make of his fit at Temple and what are expectations for the Owls the rest of this season?
K.C. Keeler has already proven to be an excellent fit at Temple. His résumé speaks for itself, and he is a proven winner even with a lack of resources. He won FCS national championships at both Delaware and Sam Houston, but his 10-win season at Sam Houston in year two of FBS membership might be his magnum opus. Additionally, he's a great fit since he has publicly declared this will be his final job, which promises Temple players and staffers a sense of stability.
Keeler walked into Philadelphia last year and immediately turned Temple into a 5-win team, after the Owls hadn't won more than three games in the entire 2020s. Temple fell one point short of both service academies, and flipping either result would have pushed the program into the postseason.
Temple played incredibly sound football in Keeler's first season, only losing four turnovers the entire year. The Owls should have lofty expectations considering they didn't lose a single starter to the transfer portal. However, they lack experience at quarterback and replacing Evan Simon is no easy task, which could present some challenges offensively. I would label bowl eligibility as a reasonable and attainable goal for this 2026 team.

2. There's a quarterback controversy right now, including former Penn Stater Jaxon Smolik. Where does that stand now and what do you expect from the offense against Penn State?

There's no more recognisable moustache in Hollywood than the one gracing Tom Selleck's upper lip, but try – as impossible as it seems – to imagine the star before his unbuttoned Hawaiian shirts and star detective skills. There were two people there from the very start, watching him grow into the ultimate Hollywood A-lister. But who raised the icon we know and love today? Read on to meet Tom's parents, and find out what role his father took that went a step above Dad...
Robert D. Selleck was a successful real estate developer
Born in December 1921 in Lapeer, Michigan, Robert 'Bob' D. Selleck made a living as a San Fernando Valley real estate developer. He also participated on several planning committees including the Southern California Committee for the 1984 Olympic Games.
He shared the screen with his famous son on two occasions, guest starring on Hawaii-based detective classic Magnum, P.I. in 1985 during the series' sixth season as Grandpa Everett, and again with an uncredited appearance in 1987.

The Magnum Ice Cream Company has welcomed a US court decision narrowing a lawsuit brought by former Ben & Jerry's independent directors over the ice-cream brand's activism and changes to its governance.
Judge Kevin Castel of the federal court in Manhattan on Friday threw out most of the claims brought by former Ben & Jerry's independent directors, dismissing seven of the ten counts and trimming another.
He also held that Magnum, the Amsterdam-headquartered ice-cream business created from Unilever's spin-off last year, should stand as the main defendant in place of the FMCG conglomerate.
The case was filed by former Class I directors linked to Ben & Jerry's independent board.
It accused Unilever and Magnum of breaching commitments dating back to the UK-listed group's 2000 acquisition of the US ice-cream brand, under which Ben & Jerry's retained unusual protections around its board structure, social mission and foundation.

Detroit — Red Hawaiian shirts took over Comerica Park on Sunday with over 900 people traveling across the world for the 17th annual "Magnum P.I." Day.
Known as the "Magnums," the group partnered with the Brain Injury **** ociation of Michigan in 2025, and a portion of Tigers game tickets bought through their group link are donated to help the **** ociation.
"I get emotional talking about it," said Aaron Klassen, the primary organizer for the event. "Who knew what started as just a bunch of hooligans having fun would turn into something of this caliber to be able to make such an incredible impact and give back to the community."
Founded by Shana Smail, Shaun Smail and Kevin Stephenson in 2009, the first event was minuscule compared to now, with only about 12 people in attendance and any color Hawaiian shirt worn. The group is inspired by the 1980s show "Magnum P.I.," and fans are dressed like Detroit native Tom Selleck, who stars in the show as Thomas Magnum.
Nowadays, they have thousands of members in a Facebook group and had fans, workers, and even PAWS, the Tigers' mascot, dressed in the signature Magnum look: an Aloha "Jungle Bird" shirt, sunglasses, real or fake mustaches, and a Tigers hat to top off the outfit.

But behind the scenes, Tom is also a family man, and his close-knit connections have played a significant role in shaping his real-life character. So much so, that a picture of his real life family sat on Thomas Magnum's bedside table on TV.

Tom Selleck's mild criticism of President Donald Trump while claiming he avoids politics managed to tick off many people on Monday. (Watch the video below.)
The former "Magnum, P.I." and "Blue Bloods" star's tight relationship with his "favorite" president, Ronald Reagan, back in the day, in addition to his former NRA board membership, would indicate he's conservative. But as for his stance on Trump, that isn't so clear.
Politics: 'WTH?': Trump's Public Struggle To Recall A Basic Word Leaves People Very Confused
CNN's Elex Michaelson at least got something out of the ex-"Friends" actor.
Noting Selleck's bond with the Reagans, Michaelson pivoted to the current GOP occupant of the White House.

Upslope Capital Management, an investment management company, released its second-quarter 2026 investor letter. A copy of the letter can be downloaded here. Upslope aims to provide attractive, equity-like returns while reducing market risk and keeping low correlation with traditional equity strategies. The portfolio tailed in the speculative mania environment as investors broadly avoided boring, cash-flowing, non-AI stocks. The Fund returned -6.6% (net) in Q2 compared to +14.3% return for the S&P Midcap 400 ETF (MDY) and +10.3% gain for the HFRX Equity Hedge Index. In addition, you can check the Fund's top five holdings to determine its best picks for 2026.
In its Q2 2026 investor letter, Upslope Capital Management highlighted The Magnum Ice Cream Company N.V. (NYSE:MICC). The Magnum Ice Cream Company N.V. (NYSE:MICC) is a Netherlands-based ice cream company that offers products under the Magnum, Ben & Jerry's, Cornetto, and Wall's brands. On July 21, 2026, The Magnum Ice Cream Company N.V. (NYSE:MICC) closed at $17.88 per share, reflecting a market capitalization of $10.96 billion. The Magnum Ice Cream Company N.V. (NYSE:MICC) posted a one-month return of 4.99%, and YTD its shares gained 12.81%.
Upslope Capital Management stated the following regarding The Magnum Ice Cream Company N.V. (NYSE:MICC) in its Q2 2026 investor update:
"The Magnum Ice Cream Company N.V. (NYSE:MICC): Magnum is a pure-play global ice cream company spun out of Unilever at the end of 2025. It is by far the largest ice cream company in the world (~21% share) with almost double the market share of the #2 player, Froneri (private). Beyond Magnum and Froneri, the largest players hold 2% share at most. Magnum and Froneri are rare for their exclusive focus on ice cream. Key brands owned by Magnum include Ben & Jerry's, Breyer's, Cornetto, Wall's, and of course the flagship Magnum brand. Geographically, Magnum's sales are balanced by region, with nearly 40% each in the Americas and Europe/ANZ, and 25% in Asia, Middle East, and Africa. Emerging Markets are a key growth driver, contributing ~30% of sales.
Magnum initially came on to Upslope's radar as I reviewed out-of-favor consumer staples businesses but sought those with manageable GLP-1 risks due to lower U.S. sales concentration (Magnum is ~25% U.S.). Upslope's key thesis points for Magnum include the following: Dominant, defensive business with significant competitive advantages stemming from ownership of leading global brands (4 of top 5) and complex global frozen supply chain network…" (Click here to read the full text)

The Magnum Ice Cream Company has invested in a manufacturing site in Europe to meet demand for smaller products.
The group said the "strategically important" site in Hungary will make the "bite-sized" Magnum Bonbons.
In a statement, TMICC said consumers were looking for "shareable indulgence".
The company has invested Ft4bn (€10m) to install a new production line at the site in Veszprém, a city in western Hungary.
Péter Konecsni, the general manager for TMICC's business in Hungary, said "The ice cream category is increasingly shaped by innovation in formats and consumption occasions, making ice-cream a year-round snacking choice. Investments like this allow us to translate category‑defining ideas into scalable solutions that support long‑term growth across European markets."
