Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's plans for a more private Ohio retreat have run into some very public objections. Neighbors of the $5.35 million Lake Erie estate are challenging proposed landscaping and fencing, raising concerns about a shared sewer line, wildlife, and how the changes could affect their longtime homes.
A six-foot fence has already received approval, but parts of the landscaping remain unresolved. The property's representatives, meanwhile, say they have adjusted the plans, paid for sewer repairs and added gates to accommodate residents.

According to the Daily Mail, the dispute centers on an estate in Bratenahl, a village outside Cleveland. Property records cited by the outlet show that an LLC linked to Kelce purchased the mansion in March. The 21,000-square-foot property features eight bedrooms, 11 bathrooms, and a two-bedroom guest cottage. Built in 1895, it also has a former ballroom converted into a game room and home theater.
But proposed changes to the grounds have become a sticking point with nearby residents. Katherine Bolton, who has lived next door for 35 years, described news of the new owners as a "tremendous blow" to "the peace and quiet in Bratenahl."

NatWest is seeking to rebuild its position in the US helped by changes to UK rules on overseas banking activities, reported the Financial Times.
Recently, the lender received approval from the US Federal Reserve to open a representative office in Connecticut that would "act as a liaison with current and prospective US customers of the bank".
The bank already operates a US-licensed broker-dealer in Stamford, Connecticut, which carries out trades for institutional investors including hedge funds.
This is the first notable effort by NatWest to expand in the US since the financial crisis.
It follows revisions to ringfencing rules introduced by former chancellor Rachel Reeves.

Washington DC has hosted presidential inaugurations, World Series parades and Fourth of July celebrations. Now, IndyCar is coming to the streets of the nation's capital.
The inaugural Freedom 250 Grand Prix will bring open-wheel racing to a temporary 1.66-mile street race winding through downtown D.C. The seven-turn course will guide drivers past some of the city's most iconic landmarks, including the U.S. Capitol, Washington Monument and several Smithsonian museums.
The race weekend, scheduled for Aug. 22-23, will feature practice, qualifying and the main race, giving fans a chance to see IndyCar drivers navigate a course unlike any other on the series calendar.
The race has already made its presence felt across downtown DC, with road closures and construction weeks underway as crews transform city streets into a temporary racing circuit. Barriers, fencing and other track infrastructure have been installed along the route ahead of race weekend.
For drivers, the circuit will offer little room for error, with tight turns and narrow sections replacing the traffic that normally moves through these streets. For residents and visitors, the race has meant detours and closures across parts of downtown as the District prepares to host its first IndyCar event.

Former Great Britain international Marius Dobel-Ober has been named as the new head coach at Truro Fencing Club.
The club, which has produced four Olympians, has recently been taken over by a firm spearheaded by former Truro head coach and Team GB Olympic coach Jon Salfield.
Dobel-Ober will be based at Truro School's Cornwall Fencing Centre.
The last British Olympian to come from the club was James Honeybone in 2012 while Brazil's Marta Baeza trained at the club ahead of her home Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro four years later.
Dobel-Ober says he has a twin mission of getting more people into the sport and coaching those who could one day compete at the highest level:

Aug 15 (Reuters) - Prediction market operator Kalshi accused Nevada's gaming regulator of violating federal ‌law in a statement on Saturday after ‌it sought daily penalties of $120,000 a day over the firm's alleged failure to comply with a geofencing order.
• Board investigators successfully placed nine trades on Kalshi's mobile application while connected to cellular networks in Nevada, ‌a day after a court-ordered deadline for the company to have a complete geofencing solution in place, according to a court filing seen by Reuters.
• Kalshi in a statement said it hired GeoComply, a vendor licensed by Nevada's gaming regulator at the ‌state's request, and that it kept the state updated throughout.
• Nevada investigators misrepresented their residences to Kalshi, violating federal law, and at least one circumvented the company's own blocking measures, Kalshi's lawyers ‌said.
• A judge in the western U.S. state of Nevada in April issued a preliminary injunction barring Kalshi ‌from offering such contracts in the state without obtaining a gaming license.

MARKHAM, Ontario (AP) — IndyCar officials called off the first day of practice and qualifying Friday at the Ontario Honda Dealers Indy at Markham after the race promoter failed to complete the track.
The event is in its first year in Markham after leaving Toronto's Exhibition Place, the race site since its inaugural running in 1986.
Once the track is completed, IndyCar will inspect the circuit to ensure it's safe. Officials hoped to squeeze all the activities scheduled for Friday into the Saturday schedule ahead of the race Sunday.
The temporary circuit, built for the first time this week, runs between Kennedy Road, Enterprise Boulevard, the Unionville GO tracks and Highway 407.
Some of the incomplete features included a pedestrian bridge over Enterprise Boulevard that would connect parking to the main spectator compound as well as ports cut into safety fencing for marshals to wave hazard flags through.

The excitement was high for the Toronto suburb of Markham, Ontario as fans came out early and filled the grandstands around the 12-turn, 2.19-mile street course – site of IndyCar's Ontario Honda Dealers Grand Prix of Markham.
Unfortunately, for the next nine hours, the only action they saw were construction vehicles attempting to complete the building of the race course.
Because of ongoing delays completing the track build, the NTT IndyCar Series Practice 1 on Friday has been rescheduled from 3:05 p.m. Eastern Time to 6 p.m. ET.
Areas of the hairpin are being completed including fencing and barriers and are expected to be finished soon. After that, it needs to be certified by an FIA representative on site.

One of Miami University's iconic landmarks is now being fenced off as school officials also announce a time estimate for groundbreaking of a new campus arena at the same site.
Miami officials recently announced that construction site fencing is now being erected around Cook Field and its student sports fields and will be completed by Monday, Aug. 10.
Officials also said mid-September will see the official groundbreaking for a $281 million sports arena for basketball, volleyball and other activities at the site to replace the school's Millett Hall.
Also, some of the student parking lots – the west and south lots — surrounding Cook Field will also be closed after Monday.
Cody Powell, Miami's vice president of facility planning and operations, noted in the announcement that a portion of the Cook Field walking track will remain open for use outside of the construction fence for use by students and others.

DETROIT — Athletics outfielder Zack Gelof left in the third inning of a 4-1 loss to the Detroit Tigers after injuring his right knee when he slammed it into the left field fence in foul territory while making a sliding catch.
Manager Mark Kotsay said after the game Gelof has a deep cut underneath his right kneecap and will have tests.
"Fortunately, it just missed the tendon," Kotsay told reporters. "He'll be reevaluated tomorrow to verify that with an MRI."
Leading off the third in a scoreless game, Zach McKinstry lofted a pitch from Jack Perkins down the left field line. Gelof made a long run into foul territory before he slid and made a terrific catch for the out, but his right knee slammed into the fencing that juts out.
Gelof immediately grabbed his knee in obvious pain, a tear in his uniform pants showing where his leg made contact with the fence. The outfielder got back to his feet after a few moments and limped back to his spot in left field as Kotsay and head athletic trainer Jeff Collins jogged out to check on him.

The outfielder got back to his feet after a few moments and limped back to his spot in left field as manager Mark Kotsay and head athletic trainer Jeff Collins jogged out to check on him.
Gelof quickly went down to the ground again and was replaced by Colby Thomas, who opened the game in right field. Lawrence Butler took over in right.
Gelof grounded out in his only at-bat in the second. He's hitting .273 with 11 home runs and 29 RBIs in what has been a bounce-back season after starting out at Triple-A Las Vegas. The 26-year-old outfielder/infielder had a 24-game hitting streak stopped on June 23 after he was forced to leave against San Francisco when Matt Chapman inadvertently stepped on Gelof’s right hand as the second baseman was applying the tag with his glove hand.

PHOENIX (AP) — For decades, all that separated the U.S. from Mexico was barbed wire.
Now, after a massive infusion of cash from Congress, President Donald Trump's administration is swiftly building what it has dubbed a "smart wall," a combination of 30-foot-tall (9-meter-tall) steel fencing and an array of sophisticated technology like sensors, cameras and towers allowing Border Patrol to surveil the territory.
The wall is under heavy scrutiny for the billions of dollars being dedicated to it when border crossings are at their lowest in decades. Critics say the U.S. is militarizing the border as it increasingly deploys sophisticated surveillance technology to the area, impacting local communities.
"We are seeing a massive expansion of surveillance and surveillance technology across the borderlands," said Ricky Garza, border policy counsel at the Southern Border Communities Coalition, an advocacy group. "The wall in all its forms is harmful to communities."
Officials say the technology is complementary to the physical wall and frees up agents for other tasks.

With an annual dividend yield of 3.12%, Tractor Supply Company (NASDAQ:TSCO) is included among the 12 Best NASDAQ Stocks to Buy for Dividends.
Tractor Supply Company (NASDAQ:TSCO) is the largest rural lifestyle retailer in the United States. The company is the source for farm supplies, pet and animal feed and supplies, clothing, tools, fencing, and so much more.
On June 22, DA Davidson ******* yst Michael Baker trimmed the firm's price target on Tractor Supply Company (NASDAQ:TSCO) from $50 to $40, but maintained a 'Buy' rating on the shares. The lowered target still indicates an upside of 33% from the current levels.

Even with the reduced estimates, TSCO is currently trading at its lowest valuation in a decade on a price-to-earnings basis.

FRISCO, Texas (AP) — Newly released video from an officer's body camera and a surveillance camera at a Texas running track captures the moments after a teenage athlete fatally stabbed another teen from a rival team in the stadium bleachers during a high school meet last year.
Karmelo Anthony, 19, was convicted of murder on June 10 in the death of Austin Metcalf, 17, and sentenced to 35 years in prison. A jury rejected Anthony's claims of self-defense. The videos were included in a batch of evidence released by the Collin County court following the conclusion of the trial.
The surveillance video shows the track and bleachers on a rainy day. Suddenly a figure wearing a gray sweatshirt is seen popping up from behind a yellow tent and then running down the steps. The video has no sound.
He got to the bottom of the bleachers, tripped and fell on the ground, and then kept running along the edge of the fencing that separates the bleachers from the running track. He stopped briefly, turned to look at what appeared to be someone chasing him, and then kept running.
After making his way part way around the track, he was joined by an unidentified person. They stopped to talk and then hugged. They started walking again and were joined by another person. After talking more, Anthony walked toward the fence where he appeared to meet up with a police officer.

RRJOLL, Albania, June 13 (Reuters) - Some 200 protesters on Saturday tore down metal and razor wire fences surrounding a ‌luxury development site on Albania's Adriatic coast, in another ‌sign of growing anger against construction in environmentally sensitive areas.
Albanians have been protesting for weeks against a planned luxury resort backed by a company linked to Jared Kushner, the son-in-law of U.S. President Donald Trump, near Vlora, which is famed for its flamingos and a turtle nesting ‌site.
On Saturday, villagers from Rrjoll, located in an area of sandy beaches and pine forests in northwestern Albania, protested against another project not linked to Kushner, saying it was being built on their confiscated land.
They waved Albanian national flags and shouted "Revolution" as they tore down the fences. Some scuffles with police broke out but the police ‌did not stop them from removing the fencing.
"The protests will not stop until the residents of the village of Rrjoll are compensated. We are 200 families whose land has been seized," said Zeke Nikolle Shullani, 56, one of the landowners who have been ‌protesting for several months.

Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds recently reunited at an MLB game. There, they were nearly struck by a foul ball, prompting a moment of shock. The outing comes shortly after the announcement that the Deadpool & Wolverine stars are teaming up for a new Disney+ docuseries.
MLB took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a video featuring Reynolds and Jackman reacting to a moment from the New York Yankees vs. Cleveland Guardians game. The duo was engaged in a brief conversation before being abruptly interrupted. A player hit a foul ball that flew toward the section where they were seated, and it touched the protective barrier in front of them. While it appeared to come dangerously close to hitting them, the protective fencing prevented any incident. The hit, however, prompted a reaction of fear and shock from them, as well as those seated in that particular section.
MLB wrote the caption, "Wolverine and Deadpool scared by a foul ball? Superheroes … they're just like us." The moment garnered mixed reactions from fans. One wrote, "They are actors. They play make believe for a living. They aren't really super heroes are even heroes." Another added, "What? You want them not to react at all? That's how people get hurt, not reacting." A third one joked, "Wolverine's healing factor won't save him from a line drive."
A fourth one added, "They're just like us do the way the Ball fly is some how scary." Other reactions included "Proof that baseball is more dangerous than supervillains" and "Saving the world is one thing, dodging foul ******* is another."
A few days back, it was announced that Reynolds and Jackman are coming together for a docuseries based on their co-owned sports team, SailGP. In a statement, they shared excitement about working on this second project since the 2024 MCU project.
