Coming off a berth in Super Bowl LX, the New England Patriots are in the process of retooling their roster. They made some moves in free agency to improve the foundation, and added some youth in the NFL Draft and rookie free agency. Now, it's about trimming the unit back down again: by 6 p.m. ET on Sunday, Aug. 30, they have to be under the 53-man limit.

Getting rid of the football before it becomes a sack is one of the least appreciated skills a quarterback can have. Fortunately for the Los Angeles Rams, Matthew Stafford has shown to be one of the best in the NFL at doing just that — and landed among one of the best quarterbacks all-time.
NFL **** yst Ryan Paganetti plotted projected 2026 starting quarterbacks' early-down sack rate against early-down throwaway rate, using data from 2022-2025 (regular season and playoffs). He added Tom Brady's final 10 seasons as the historical measuring stick.
Brady, unsurprisingly, sits at the bottom of the sack-rate scale — lower than every other quarterback on the board, a testament to the pocket awareness and quick decision-making that defined the back half of his career. But Stafford isn't far behind. He landed next to Bills quarterback Josh Allen within shouting distance of Brady's territory, both comfortably inside the green zone that denotes a better-than-average sack rate.

NEW DELHI: Jasprit ***** rah is set to make his long-awaited return to India's ODI side after being named in the 15-member squad for the three-match series against England beginning on July 14.
The pace spearhead, who was rested for the recently concluded series against Afghanistan as part of workload management, will lead India's bowling attack in English conditions.
Bumrah's return comes after an extended period of selective appearances in the 50-over format.
Since India's defeat in the 2023 ODI World Cup final, the 32-year-old has missed eight ODI ***** ignments, underlining the BCCI's cautious approach towards managing the workload of one of its most valuable players.
India played ODI series in South Africa and Sri Lanka in 2023-24 and 2024 respectively without ***** rah.
Due to injuries and BCCI's plan to manage his workload properly, he was also absent from the home series against England, the 2025 Champions Trophy, tours of Australia and home contests against South Africa and New Zealand, before sitting out the Afghanistan series earlier this month.
