As the high school football season gets set to kick off in the state of Georgia, there are several teams from the Greater Savannah area that have the potential to make their marks this year.
The Atlanta Journal Constitution released its preseason state rankings this week with several area teams making the lists.
Benedictine is ranked No. 2 in Class 5A behind only Cartersville as the Cadets come off their run to the Class 4A state championship game last year.
In Class 2A-4A Private, Calvary Day is ranked as the top dog, a year after battling against state champion Hebron Christian in the Private School ****** le game last year. Savannah Christian comes in at No. 5 in the same classification.
All three of those teams are blessed with standout receivers.
