Michigan basketball continues to round out its coaching staff, this time with an outside-the-college-game hire.
The Wolverines are set to add Dylan Murphy, who most recently was coach of the Osceola Magic of the NBA G League, as an ***** istant coach, a person with knowledge of the move confirmed to the Detroit Free Press.
Before Murphy was coach in Osceola for the past three seasons, he was an ***** istant with the Orlando Magic (2020-23) for three years and served as the team's basketball operations ***** yst from 2018-20. Murphy, who led the team to two first-place finishes in the Eastern Conference in three seasons, was also named the G League coach of the month in March 2025.

"It's a work in progress," Michigan coach Mike Boynton Jr. said of rounding out the staff earlier in the week. "There's a process here that we have to go through. We're following that process now, but I feel very confident that we're going to be able to put together some really [good] experience from a wide variety of backgrounds that could bring different things to the table."
