AUBURN — There could be plenty of Auburn baseball involved in this year's MLB Draft combine, as the league announced 334 expected attendees for the event, which is set to take place June 23-25.
Three Tigers — Alex Petrovic, Chris Rembert and Eric Guevara — are expected to take part, as well as four commitments to Auburn's incoming freshman class.
Rembert, a draft-eligible sophomore, has been Auburn's starting second baseman the past two seasons, and the first team All-SEC honoree is considered the 41st-best player in this year's draft, according to MLB.com. Guevara, who's started for Auburn at third base the last two years, was the Tigers' third-leading hitter this spring. Petrovic became part of Auburn's weekend rotation in 2026, and he led the program's qualifying pitchers in ERA, WHIP and opponent batting average.
Of Auburn's four commitments set to participate — AJ Rice, Coleman Borthwick, Jace Mataczynski and Ty Tillery — just Borthwick and Rice are considered top-200 prospects, listed at 32nd and 121st, respectively, on the MLB's big board.
