Welcome to SB Nation Reacts, a survey of fans across MLB. Throughout the year we ask questions of the most plugged-in Cubs fans and fans across the country. Sign up here to participate in the weekly emailed surveys.
The Cubs have not hit well for the last several weeks. After defeating the Rangers 7-1 on May 8, they were 27-12 and the team was batting .258/.354/.429 with 215 runs (5.51 per game), 51 home runs (1.31 home runs per game) and 308 strikeouts (7.89 per game).
Since then the Cubs are 7-20 and in those 27 games are batting .211/.302/.330 with 88 runs scored (3.26 per game), 23 home runs (0.85 per game) and 242 strikeouts (8.96 per game).
So if you’ve been feeling like the Cubs run scoring and power is down and strikeouts are up, you’re not wrong.
The slump has mainly been on the backs of four hitters who have pretty much stopped hitting: Alex Bregman, Michael Busch, Seiya Suzuki and Dansby Swanson.
