The Dow Jones Industrial Average and other major stock indexes were modestly higher Tuesday, as Wall Street keeps an eye on developments in the ceasefire-extension talks between the U.S. and Iran. Meanwhile, Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) and Victoria's Secret (VSXY) saw huge moves on the stock market today.
The Dow rose 0.2%, while the S&P 500 also crept up 0.2% Tuesday late morning. The Nasdaq composite moved 0.2% higher as well. The Nasdaq and S&P 500 are looking to extend eight-day winning streaks. Small caps outperformed, with the Russell 2000 gaining 0.9%.
The 10-year Treasury yield fell to 4.45%. Bitcoin slid to near $67,700. Meanwhile, West Texas intermediate crude oil eased to around $91.80 barrel.
Among exchange traded funds, the Invesco QQQ Trust (QQQ) ******* ped up 0.3% as the SPDR S&P 500 ETF Trust (SPY) added 0.2%.
The Labor Department reported 7.618 million job openings in April vs. the 6.833 million expected, and topped the revised 6.887 million in March.
