About a year ago, the New England Patriots brought Stefon Diggs aboard.
The former Minnesota Vikings, Buffalo Bills and Houston Texans wide receiver was signed in free agency to a three-year deal to be Drake Maye's WR1.
Diggs lasted just a single season with the Pats.
He was a quality target for Maye, and New England reached the Super Bowl, but the Patriots decided this offseason that they couldn't pay Diggs what his contract called upon for the next two seasons, and so they cut him.
