Wanda Sykes is still thinking about longtime friend Chris Rock calling to apologize for not knowing about her breast cancer diagnosis.
The 62-year-old comedian recalled the conversation while speaking to Vulture's Good One podcast when host Jesse David Fox asked about a story that captures what their relationship is like.
"We don't talk often, but there are moments," Sykes admitted near the 22-minute mark in the video linked above. "After it was in the public that I had breast cancer—and this was like I had already finished my treatment post surgery and all that stuff. Chris called me and he was like, 'I didn't know, man … I'm so sorry you went through that. I didn't know. Ah, I wish I had known.'"

CrowdStrike Holdings, Inc. (NASDAQ:CRWD) said on August 3 that a North Korea-linked adversary injected a malicious dependency into at least 131 Mastra AI framework packages on npm (Node Package Manager). Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) owns GitHub, which acquired npm in 2020 and operates the registry at the center of the attack chain.
This was a developer-supply-chain breach with unusually efficient distribution. Stolen maintainer credentials let the attacker publish poisoned Mastra versions tagged as the latest releases. The malicious easy-day-js dependency then ran during installation, exposing developer machines and build pipelines to credential theft and remote code execution. CrowdStrike found that 87% of identified software-registry threats in the first half of 2026 involved npm packages.

Microsoft's role cuts both ways. GitHub controls the registry infrastructure, and its advisory database powers npm audit, so repeated account takeovers increase the burden to harden publishing and dependency scanning. Yet Microsoft's own June 17 investigation identified more than 140 affected Mastra packages and detailed detections across Defender Antivirus, Defender for Endpoint and Defender XDR. The same incident that creates reputational risk for npm also gives Microsoft another reason to sell integrated security.
The more direct demand read-through belongs to CrowdStrike. Its fiscal Q1 2027 revenue grew 26% to $1.39 billion, while annual recurring revenue rose 24% to $5.51 billion. Hedge-fund ownership also increased to 79 portfolios at the end of Q1 2026 from 67 in Q4 2025, according to Insider Monkey's database. The valuation is the restraint: a roughly $190 billion market value equals about 32 times CrowdStrike's $5.91 billion to $5.96 billion fiscal-year revenue guidance. The business must sustain growth near the mid-20% range for that multiple to remain comfortable.

Aston Villa have announced a new front-of-shirt sponsor for the 2026-27 season, with president of business operations Francesco Calvo stating the deal is a "symbol of the club's continuing expansion".
Visit Rwanda will become the club's principle partner, official tourism partner and official coffee provider - and the Rwandan Development Board's branding will appear on the front of all men's, women's and academy kits.
"This is a very exciting partnership for Aston Villa," Calvo said. "There is a great range and depth of opportunities for collaboration, learning and innovation.
"We are looking forward to working with Visit Rwanda to deliver meaningful activations through tourism, investment and sporting development."
Supporters who have already purchased the new home kit will be able to take their shirt into an Aston Villa store to have the sponsor branding printed free of charge.

Diamond League is officially in the back end of its 2026 schedule, with only a handful of meets remaining before the two-day final in Brussels on September 4-5.

Fans will see Jamaica's Oblique Seville headline the men's 100m, while Saint Lucia's Julien Alfred will compete in the women's 200m. Microsoft Corporation (NASDAQ:MSFT) was among the stocks on Jim Cramer's Mad Money radar as he taught investors how to profit from the upcoming wave of takeovers. Cramer highlighted the company stock's decline during the second quarter, as he stated:
We need to go over what the heck happened to these losing stocks in the month of June, then we'll review all the winners for the quarter. Some of these Mag Seven declines, they are just hideous. The stock of Microsoft, for example, shed over 17% of its value this month, losing over a half a trillion dollars in market cap. Even though it has a decent cloud business, that's not enough to make up for its core software exposure. Wall Street has no use for the software right now. Put aside this false narrative. Software's a real good business.
If Microsoft wants to reverse its fortunes, it needs to do something bold like acquiring OpenAI if that company can't come public because of its severe losses. Microsoft has a stake in the company. It can make the trade happen. That would allow it to scrap Copilot and replace it with uber popular ChatGPT. Or it can break itself up into extremely lucrative parts. Yes, Azure, the cloud computing business, Microsoft business-to-business software, Microsoft's consumer software, Microsoft cybersecurity, video games, LinkedIn, all best in field. Listen, after a 17% loss in a month, these guys would be crazy to keep doing what they've been doing.

Behind the billowy facade-covering tarp that yet still covers the original name of the John F. Kennedy Memorial Center for the Performing Arts, the Center's Concert Hall lit up in laughter during Bill Maher's remarks as he received the 27th Mark Twain Prize for American Humor on Sunday evening.
The prize, named in honor of the great American humorist, was awarded at a gala performance that featured a set of Maher's friends in politics and comedy, including Whitney ***** s, Louis C.K., Woody Harrelson, Arianna Huffington, Stephen A. Smith, and Jay Leno, rounded out with a live performance by John Mellencamp.

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen made a rare public appearance in support of their brother Trent's recent wedding.
The fraternal twins, 40, who formally retired from acting in 2012, attended the May ceremony of their oldest sibling and his new wife, Alexis.
On Thursday, in a joint Instagram post shared by the newlyweds, the Full House stars posed for a family photo. They stood to the left of the happy couple, alongside Ashley's husband, Louis Eisner, their half-siblings Courtney, 29, and Jake Olsen, 28, and other family members. Their younger sister, WandaVision star Elizabeth, 37, and her husband, Robbie Arnett, could be seen in the back.
Each person wore black, except for Alexis and her flower girl, who wore white, and Courtney, who wore a navy dress.
The post's caption simply reads, "Family," next to a single white heart emoji.

Tottenham have made two free agent signings thus far and according to Alasdair Gold might be close to a third. Gold is reporting that Tottenham Hotspur is close to a free agent acquisition of former Burnley and Slovakia international keeper Martin Dubravka.
This is fine, and actually a quite decent signing, especially if he's coming in as an experienced backup. The scuttlebutt around the club right now is that Robert De Zerbi and Spurs are ready to part ways with Guglielmo Vicario, with Juventus very interested in the Italian keeper. Antonin Kinsky impressed in Tottenham's run-in this past season, ably filling in for the injured Vicario and even keeping him out of the side for the last couple of matches. That's an impressive thing for a young keeper, especially after the disasterclass performance in the Europa League loss to Atletico Madrid at the Wanda, a performance that surely dented his confidence. Spurs are expected to give Kinsky the shot at the #1 spot in Vicario's place, and that means Dubravka would be coming in to both push and back up Kinsky.
Honestly, bringing an experienced and elder keeper in to back up your young potential star is a good move. Dubravka is 37 but has been around the block a LOT over his career. Should Kinsky be injured or simply find himself not up to the task of being Tottenham's starting keeper, I have no doubt Dubravka could come in and do a job. I wouldn't imagine that his deal would be longer than 1-2 years – he's certainly not a long term signing, but he'd be able to mentor Kinsky and step in easily if required. He's also not Czech like Kinsky but is from the same part of Europe and could be a good life mentor as well.

While it'd be nice to have a backup keeper be English, homegrown and club trained, that doesn't matter so much this season as Spurs don't have to contend with European competition this season. As expected, the last round of Section 7's City of Mesa bracket featured a matchup between recent high school girls basketball national champions Etiwanda – the event's three-time reigning champion – and Ontario Christian.
Except it was for third place instead of first.
At the same time Ontario Christian rolled past Etiwanda 75-49 for the bronze, Section 7's top division concluded with one of the tournament's relative underdogs – Windward – defeating four-time reigning NorCal champion Archbishop Mitty 54-46 for the ****** le. Windward had unseated Etiwanda 69-65 in the previous round after starting with a 57-51 win over Nevada powerhouse Democracy Prep Agassi Campus and a 66-58 victory against Arizona champion Millennium. Mitty made it to the finals by beating Eagle (ID) 53-44, defeating Mater Dei 67-56, and notching a 56-48 win over Ontario Christian, which beat the Monarchs 56-49 in the CIF Open Division state finals in March.

Only three days after Diamond League's meet in Rome, competition will now head to Stockholm for the circuit's annual leg in Sweden.
Formally known as the Bauhausgalan, this professional track and field meet held at Stockholm Stadium is the city's most prestigious international sporting event of the year. Serving as the fifth stop of the 2026 Wanda Diamond League season, top athletes from around the world are expected to compete.
Already confirmed for pole vault this weekend, Mondo Duplantis will have a homecoming in Stockholm, but there will be plenty of challengers against him. Sam Kendricks, Kurtis Marschall and Sondre Guttormsen will all compete in pole vault, while other major names like Kenny Bednarek and Dina Asher-Smith will take to the track.

Reporting via his social media profiles, Lukasz Baczek reports that ******* nal are due to receive around £10m from primary sponsors Emirates and Adidas for winning the Premier League and reaching the final of the Champions League.
The Gunners would have earned even more by winning the latter competition, as the two brands would have had to pay another €10m (£8.6m) each.
But at least winning the Premier League and reaching the final has earned the club a decent bonus ahead of the summer transfer window.
Baczek adds that ******* nal’s agreement with Visit Rwanda also included a trophy bonus, so the Gunners will profit from that as well. The Visit Rwanda sleeve sponsorship deal has now expired, but not too soon to activate that last clause.

Rogers is the widow of Kenny Rogers. Her latest tribute to her late husband is melting hearts across social media. On Monday, June 1, Wanda turned to the late "Lady" singer's official Instagram to honor what would have been their 29th wedding anniversary. The couple wed in 1997 and remained devoted partners all the way up until Kenny's passing in March 2020 at age 81.
Wanda wrote a heartfelt note alongside a wedding photo to the man she still calls her great love.
"Today is the most special day for me: our wedding anniversary," she began, before adding, "Even though I can't touch you, I hold you in my heart forever, Kenny… Justin, Jordan, and I miss you so much. Love, Wanda." Justin and Jordan are the twin sons she and Kenny welcomed together.

How collecting DNA samples in the wild could transform conservation
MUSANZE, Rwanda (AP) — A guide called out to endangered golden monkeys with grunts and clicks to signal he posed no threat, a familiar sound in the mist-covered forests of Rwanda ’s Volcanoes National Park.
Here in one of Africa's most well-known parks, steep ridges and dense vegetation often obscure even the largest mountain gorillas — also endangered — and scientists are turning to new technology to detect and protect them.
Known as environmental DNA, or eDNA, the technology allows researchers to identify species using genetic material like fur or feces left in soil and water. This reduces the impact of human interaction during wildlife surveys that can leave researchers groping through the mist.
The technology, more often used in marine conservation work, was introduced by the African Wildlife Foundation in partnership with the Rwandan government. It aims to develop a list of all species in the country. That will help protect biodiversity that is threatened by climate change and population growth.
“We selected eDNA as a new technology to bring solutions and to complement existing methods used in ecological monitoring,” said the foundation’s country manager for Rwanda, Patrick Nsabimana.

Former CDC director on Ebola outbreak: ‘I suspect this is going to become a very significant pandemic’
Former Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Director Robert Redfield said Wednesday he suspects the spreading Ebola outbreak in Africa will spread across three new countries and become a “very significant pandemic.”
“I suspect this is going to become a very significant pandemic, probably going to leak into Tanzania, leak into southern Sudan, maybe leak into Rwanda,” Redfield said during an appearance on NewsNation’s “Elizabeth Vargas Reports.”
“So, it’s going to be very disruptive,” he added.
A majority of the Ebola cases are in Congo and Uganda.
Local health officials in the two nations reported 536 suspected cases, 105 probable cases, 34 confirmed cases and around 134 suspected deaths from the outbreak, according to the CDC.

Titans' Wan'Dale Robinson says Carnell Tate will have rookie duties
The 2026 free agency frenzy is essentially over. The 2026 NFL Draft is in the rear-view mirror. The Tennessee ******* ans held their rookie minicamp last weekend, and now the players can slow down and enjoy the moment. The rookies will especially need some time to process everything that's happened over the last few months before they can truly appreciate where they are.
They'll have to lean on that appreciation a lot in their first year. Not only do they have the stress of learning a new system, learning a new city, learning a new locker room, and going through the transition to become a pro, but they'll have their "rookie duties" to handle, too. Even first-round draft pick Carnell Tate will have duties to handle.
"He's just like everybody else. Those rookie dinners and things like that, but really excited about him. I think he's going to elevate our offense and do great things, so, [I'm] ready to work with him," Wan'Dale Robinson says.
An off-camera voice reminds Robinson that he's just signed a new contract and wonders if he's still going to make Tate foot the bill.
"Oh yeah, he's gonna have his rookie duties," Robinson replies, laughing. He continues, "I don't care if I just got a new deal, he just got a new deal, too!"
