The Barclays Women's Super League 2 (WSL2) kicked off on Friday night under the lights. We witnessed some shock results, own goals, a red card and new signings shining. It was a ****** per weekend of footballing action.
There was plenty to talk about across the WSL 2 match-week one results, from Sunderland's four-goal win over Bristol City to Ipswich Town's late equaliser against Nottingham Forest. Here's how the opening round unfolded.
Two newly promoted teams faced off as Watford hosted Burnley at Vicarage Road. It was the first time the two teams had ever played each other.
Watford dominated possession but couldn't make any of their 12 shots count against a resolute Burnley defence. Burnley pressed Watford, giving them little to no time on the ball.
Burnley debutant and captain Christie Harrison-Murray came close with an audacious lob, but it drifted beyond Safia Middleton-Patel's post. Saoirse Noonan had Watford's best chance as she arched her run perfectly behind the last defender but shot into the side netting.

On Sunday, I felt flattened by Southampton's defeat at Watford.
When recording Goin' Home With Adam and Jo on the way back, Jo Tessem and I could hardly raise our spirits and delivered a thoroughly miserable half-hour.
Since then I have been reflecting on how the game unfolded at Vicarage Road and whether we were overreacting on Sunday.
Should we have said "well, it's only the first game" and "it's early in the season, they will get better"? As I write this, the answer is still no.
Saints have set very high standards under Tonda Eckert and we all expected that they would hit their stride early and swat Watford aside. It never happened.

Crystal Palace are one of the several clubs interested in signing Imrân Louza (27) from Watford during the summer transfer window, according to a report from Foot Mercato. The Premier League have enquired about the Moroccan international midfielder's availability ahead of a potential move.
French clubs have also shown an interest in bringing the former Nantes midfielder back to Ligue 1. Paris FC have already contacted the EFL Championship club regarding a potential move for the 27-year-old. However, they must sell players first before acting upon their interest. Nice and Ajax are also interested in signing the midfielder.
With several clubs interested in his services, the Hornets have indicated Louza's price tag to interested clubs. It will take an offer in the region of €10m for the Nantes-born player to leave Vicarage Road during the summer transfer window.

Where to start in a summer of upheaval at Watford Football Club?
Alessio Dionisi has replaced Ed Still as head coach - becoming the 24th boss since the Pozzo family took control in 2012 - and the Italian has brought new backroom staff in with him.
The under-21 team is no more and changes are being made to the recruitment staff and strategy at Vicarage Road.
Attacker Giorgi Chakvetadze has left for sister club Udinese and rumours are swirling about the future of key players Nestory Irankunda, Imran Louza and Othmane Maamma.
With all these changes in mind Hornets fans, what are you making of another turbulent summer?
