Sandra Bullock says it was no surprise to her kids that her partner, Bryan Randall, was going through a health crisis that eventually led to his August 2023 death from ALS.
They were "completely aware," Bullock said Monday on the SmartLess podcast hosted by Will Arnett, Jason Bateman, and Sean Hayes. "Absolutely aware, because once there is a situation where you're bedridden. We all have to go there. It was in my house, and I did my best to set up whatever I could, and I am lucky in that I had the means to pay for it."

In August of the following year, it was revealed that her photographer partner Randall had died after a private three-year battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS). He was 57.
While opening up about his death for the first time on the SmartLess podcast, Bullock admitted that she was concerned for her mental health while juggling The Lost City, caring for Randall and looking after her two children.

The Oscar-nominated star recalled on the June 22 episode of the SmartLess podcast how she helped a man who had been stabbed in the neck during a trip to the beach in Santa Monica, California. Adams was promoting her Apple TV+ series "Cape Fear," which also stars Javier Bardem and Patrick Wilson.
"We were in Santa Monica, coming out of our favorite restaurant… I was with my dad," Adams said. "These people were screaming and a guy was walking and they were yelling, 'He's dying!' And my husband's like, 'That's blood!'"
Adams and her father rushed to help.
"He'd been stabbed in the neck," she recalled. "So he was bleeding and his friends were freaking out."

"We were in Santa Monica, coming out of our favorite restaurant … These people were screaming and a guy was walking and they were yelling, 'He's dying!' And my husband's like, 'That's blood!'" Adams told co-hosts Sean Hayes, Jason Bateman and Will Arnett. "I was like, 'Darren, you stay here with our daughter.' [My dad and I] ran over and he'd been stabbed in the neck. "Both my kids got into all their colleges. They both got scholarships and they're going where they want to go."
