A few Lions were dinged up during Detroit's 17-13 win over the Washington Commanders in the NFL preseason.
Veteran receiver Cedrick Wilson Jr. injured his knee in the first quarter and Lions head coach Dan Campbell said afterwards that he was concerned it might be serious.
"Yeah. I don't know for sure. I'm worried. I'm worried on that one. I love (Cedrick) Wilson, man. He's a smart, crafty football player. Gets it, can play all the spots at receiver, special teams. We don't know. We're getting that knee looked at. We don't know, but I'll leave it at that," Campbell said.
Campbell said that running back Jabari Small was being checked for a concussion, too. Small carried three times for 16 yards.
"He's getting checked. He kind of got dinged there, concussion protocol," Campbell said.

Max Holloway may lose a portion of his fight purse following his UFC 329 victory over Conor McGregor — and he's not alone. Nevada State Athletic Commission (NSAC) will decide on Wednesday if the former featherweight and BMF champ, along with lightweight contender Paddy Pimblett and heavyweight newcomer Gable Steveson, will incur disciplinary fines for cage hopping during the July 11 fight card in Las Vegas.
Pimblett defeated Benoit Saint Denis, not long after Steveson steamrolled Elisha Ellison.
"For the record, this rule needs to be changed," Pimblett's manager, Graham Boylan told MMA Junkie. "Yes, it's the fight game, and systems need to be in play to make it all work, but this rule does nothing to support that. It's 2026. Apply a little common sense."
Diego Lopes was dinged $5,000 for a similar infraction at UFC 300.
NSAC has been cracking down on airborne fighters ever since Khabib Nurmagomedov's ****** bombed Dillon Danis at UFC 229 back in late 2018, a fight that also involved McGregor. Speaking of the "Notorious" ex-champion, he's currently sidelined after knee surgery to repair damage suffered in his loss to Holloway — just don't expect much sympathy from the "Blessed" Hawaiian.

The Washington Commanders face the Detroit Lions on Saturday in the second preseason game. There's been a debate all week on whether starting quarterback Jayden Daniels will play. Daniels is 100% healthy, so why the debate?
Head coach Dan Quinn has been vague all week about who will play. On Thursday, Quinn met with the media for the final time before Saturday's game and had an interesting answer when asked if Daniels would play.
"Once I know the health of everybody else around, then I'll have a better sense for it," Quinn said.
When he says the health of everyone around him, does he mean center Nick Allegretti? Or the fact that several of Washington's running backs are dinged up and the Commanders may play Saturday's game with two rookies and a recently signed veteran. Would Quinn trust any of those backs in pass protection with Daniels in the game?
Quinn already ruled Allegretti out for Saturday.

The Seattle Seahawks are back on the practice field Monday, as they prepare for the 2026 season and defending their ******* le as reigning World Champions after stomping the New England Patriots 29-13 in Super Bowl LX.
The first on-field action against another team will come on Saturday when the Seahawks host the Dallas Cowboys at Lumen Field to open the preseason, and ahead of that matchup a handful of members of the roster returned to practice after having been held out the last for days for a variety of reasons.
The return to practice of Jake Bobo, Julian Neal, Jamie Sherriff and Mike Morris is obviously good news, as is the news from Corbin Smith that offensive linemen Mason Richman and Logan Brown are back at work after getting dinged up during the team scrimmage Saturday.
Of course, as good as the news that Brown and Richman are suited up is, the fact that there is no sign of Jadarian Price during warmups is not great. Price has been held out of practice the last few days with lower-body soreness, but is expected to be back in action sometime soon. Of course, the longer the absence continues for the Seahawks first round pick, the more questions fans will raise about exactly how sore he is and what might be causing it.

Bad weather in the area forced the Chicago Bears inside the Walter Payton Center for practice today, so, for the second time this year, fans were sent home. My advice for fans traveling a long way for practice: have a backup plan. Don't just drive in for a 90ish-minute practice that may get canceled if it's raining. Camp is an enjoyable experience, and the Bears have several vendors and events lined up to make it a fun, family-friendly time, but last-minute cancellations are always a possibility.
As for the on-field action at today's practice, would you believe that multiple beat reporters praised second-year linebacker Ruben Hyppolite? 1) "Nice day for Ruben Hyppolite out there. He made a few really nice plays, including getting into the backfield." 2) "Ruben Hyppolite had his best practice of camp. Very active on defense." 3) "Made some plays. Sniffed out a screen to Loveland, made the tackle." But we also had this: "Ruben Hyppolite times fast but struggled covering Cole Kmet on routes."
The Bear Report's Zack Pearson shared, "Mixed day for the offense overall. Big play ended practice as Tyson Bagent hit Kaden Davis for a long touchdown. The WR made a nice catch in coverage. Good ball." He also wrote, "Early in practice, Caleb Williams found Jahdae Walker deep for a 61-yard touchdown. The very next play, Case Keenum hit Kaden Davis for a 60-yard touchdown. A lot of that was YAC." He also shared that corner Tyrique Stevenson, who was dinged up yesterday, was back and picked off Caleb in a drill.
CHGO's Adam Jahns said that the blitzes from defensive coordinator Dennis Allen "gave Caleb Williams and Co. plenty of problems in one team period today at practice."

French superstar Kylian Mbappé has scored 20 World Cup goals in 20 World Cup appearances. He’s poised to take the pitch again on Tuesday against Spain in the 2026 World Cup, according to his manager, Didier Deschamps, who told reporters that Mbappé is “100%” heading into the semifinal match.
Mbappé left France's quarterfinal victory over Morocco last week in the 77th minute with what Deschamps characterized as a “minor ankle injury,” per The Athletic. While Mbappé, 27, downplayed the potential issue following the match, the Real Madrid forward’s status has been monitored with a keen eye in the days since that Thursday scare.
Deschamps’ comments followed a report from RMC Sport that suggested Mbappé was still feeling discomfort in his dinged-up right ankle. Mbappé reportedly trained separately from most teammates during the early part of a training session that was open to media.
Deschamps, though, noted via an interpreter that Mbappé “feels good” and minimized the portion of practice reporters watched, according to The Athletic.
“He has the right, like others, to go 15 minutes instead of 20 minutes on a drill,” Deschamps reportedly said.

PHILADELPHIA - Luis Arraez is fully prepared to get dealt by the time the Aug. 3 trade deadline comes around. But he'd also like potential suitors to know any deal involving him comes with an expectation: He's now a second baseman, and doesn't expect that to change after joining a new team.
Arraez, the three-time batting champion who's been the lone bright spot on a 41-55 San Francisco Giants team, has remade himself into a Gold Glove-caliber second baseman under the tutelage of infield guru Ron Washington, enhancing his value significantly as he once again tests the free agent market this winter.
He's once again elite with the bat, hitting .330, but now he's no longer dinged for being a first baseman or designated hitter with little power. And Arraez would prefer to maintain his rediscovered identity at second.
"It's going to be second base," Arraez said when asked about potential destinations and scenarios. "I don't like to go back to first base. I prepared my mind, I prepared my body only to play second base."

Justin Wrobleski has been one of the best pitchers in the National League this year, but he is not an All-Star.
Despite having the eighth-best ERA in baseball and playing a huge role in the Los Angeles Dodgers having the most wins in baseball, Wrobleski was passed over for All-Star honors. One of the biggest knocks on him compared to other pitchers is how many games he's started, but the quality of his starts should outweigh the number.
"We run a six-man rotation, and I just don't want him to get dinged for not making a couple more starts that he potentially could have had," manager Dave Roberts said on Tuesday. "He's won 10 games for us. To be able to get pitching decisions, you've got to go deeper in games. It's about winning, the ERA is stellar, innings per outing and so I just think that he's performed enough to earn that opportunity."

On Tuesday, Braxton Ashcraft and Jesús Luzardo were named replacements for the All-Star Game. The two starting pitchers are also deserving of the nod, but both have made two more appearances than Wrobleski. Despite that, Wrobleski is less than 10 innings of work behind both of them.

One of the biggest concerns facing Michigan football this offseason has been the linebacker room. At this time last year, the Wolverines had at least four players who were expected to contribute, and contribute they did. Ernest Hausmann and Jaishawn Barham started out the season in the middle of the defense, but by the end of the year, Jimmy Rolder and Cole Sullivan were the primary stars there, with Hausmann out for the season and Barham having mostly transitioned to an edge rusher role. Now all four are gone, with Rolder having declared early and having gone to the NFL, Sullivan having transferred to Oklahoma, and the other two out of eligibility, so there are big question marks at linebacker at the moment.
On Wednesday, Wolverines linebackers coach Alex Whittingham spoke with Jon Jansen on the In the Trenches podcast and detailed what he's seen from some of his inherited players. Perhaps the one spoken of most generally is former four-star Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng, and Whittingham likes what he's seen from him thus far.
"Nate has done a great job of buying into what we're trying to do," Whittingham said. "And he dealt with some injuries this spring, just got a little minor things got dinged up here and there. But he showed his toughness by playing through it and doing the best that he could to get his body out, his body healthy to get out there and practice for us. And he's getting more physical each and every day."
While Owusu-Boateng may have the name cache, it's his 2025 classmate, former three-star Chase Taylor, who has gotten perhaps the most hype behind the scenes.
There have been rumblings that the staff is ecstatic about what Taylor brings to the table and that he may be the one who has the star power, ultimately. And what Whittingham said about him certainly won't dissuade anyone from that opinion.

With the off day tomorrow, the Mariners are using today as an opportunity to get a few dinged-up players some back-to-back days of rest: Dominic Canzone (hamstring) and Luke Raley (elbow) are both out of the lineup, and Canzone, at least, won’t be available off the bench. Randy Arozarena is also getting a breather. Not getting a breather: Cole Young, who continues to be the Mariners’ iron man.

The Seattle Seahawks are the reigning Super Bowl LX champions and it hardly feels like the rest of the country even realizes it. Seattle has been perhaps the most overlooked defending champs in recent memory, as just about everyone and their mothers are busy fawning over the Los Angeles Rams . You know, the same Rams that squandered their opportunity to win homefield advantage and represent the conference in the Super Bowl by losing two out of three games to the Seahawks... including the NFC championship game.
Well... just about everyone.
Recently, ESPN's Seth Walter shared an article where he ***** igned letter grades to each team for how they did during the offseason. For the first time I can think of, the Seahawks actually managed to get a better grade than the Rams! It wasn't a wide gap, but it was higher. Walter ***** igned Seattle a B- grade, while Los Angeles received an average C+ mark. The biggest reasoning for the Rams' mediocre grade is directly related to their confusing pick of backup quarterback Ty Simpson at No. 13 overall during the 2026 NFL draft. Walter writes :
"On offense, the Rams extended Stafford, guaranteeing him $50 million in 2027 and ensuring the reigning MVP would stick around. But they swerved drastically from their Super Bowl window-maximizing approach when they drafted Simpson with the No. 13 pick. Selecting a player who won't play without a Stafford injury is the opposite of maximizing their current window. And it looks even stranger after the Garrett trade. It's not because backup quarterbacks don't matter -- they do -- but a veteran backup could have been had for much less capital. Not to mention that Simpson was a reach at No. 13; the Rams could have traded back and still had a good chance to select him later. The argument that it wasn't the Rams' original pick (it was the result of the Falcons trading up to draft James Pearce Jr. in 2025) and therefore was "extra" is irrational -- it's still worth the same! It was a big missed opportunity to add a non-quarterback (like a third wide receiver) who could have helped in 2026."
As for the Seahawks, Walter praised Seattle for managing to maintain "homegrown" talent like Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Derick Hall with new extensions. Additionally, making sure Rashid Shaheed and Josh Jobe remain in the Pacific Northwest contributed to Seattle's grade. However, what dinged the Seahawks in Walter's eyes is related to a player they let walk in free agency. No, it's actually not Kenneth Walker III or even Riq Woolen . It's linebacker Boye Mafe !

We are getting into the dog days of summer, and fantasy baseball owners are grinding just like the MLB players are. A ton of our fantasy stars are dinged up and struggling to stay on the field. These are the top injured hitters that fantasy owners need to monitor for tonight's game.
Soto was forced from last night's game due to a back issue. He exited after the fourth innings because his back locked up. His status for tonight's game is now up in the air. The star outfielder has been red-hot, so he will be a tough loss for fantasy owners.
If Soto does miss time, whether it be one game or beyond, MJ Melendez is the favorite to fill in for him, with Eric Wagaman also being a candidate to get more playing time with Soto sidelined.
