Nashville SC's second half surely wasn't its better half Aug. 1 during what turned out to be a 2-2 draw against D.C. United in Washington, D.C.
Blowing a two-goal lead, like NSC (12-4-2) did in this game, will draw those conclusions.
But Nashville SC coach B.J. Callaghan said he isn't ready to hit the panic ******* on and believes the team atop the Supporters' Shield standings hasn't lost it since the World Cup break.
"When you look at our last four games, we have two wins, a draw and a loss," he said. "We're constantly looking to improve and get better. That's what we'll continue to do as we move into the Leagues Cup."
As for the second half Aug. 1, during which goals by D.C. United's Silvan Hefti and Tai Baribo evened the score 2-2 after Sam Surridge's penalty kick and Shak Mohammed's goal in the first half. Callaghan said there was no excuse.

Olympic gold medalist Mollie O'Callaghan of Australia will miss the Pan Pacific Championships, the year's biggest international swim meet, due to injury.
O'Callaghan has been managing a back injury, according to Swimming Australia.
This past week, O'Callaghan won four golds and one silver at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow, Scotland, including gold in the 200m freestyle (which she won at the Paris Olympics and the 2025 World Championships).
"I always knew my program was going to be different, and I would reassess at the end of the Games, and my injury is exactly where I thought it would be," O'Callaghan said in a press release. "And the time is right for me to go home. Good luck to all my teammates (at Pan Pacs) in California."
Australian coach Rohan Taylor added, "She made the decision to return home rather than add another campaign with significant travel. As I said, our lens is on LA, and less is more right now for Mollie."

Goals proved decisive as Kerry's quest for back-to-back All-Ireland SFC ***** les remains on course with a 2-18 to 0-20 victory over Dublin in Sunday's semi-final.
In scorching heat at Croke Park, Jack O'Connor's men did enough to get past a stern Dublin, who will reflect on a day where they were close to upsetting the odds, but 12 wides and two goal chances of their own passed up cost them.
It was the first championship meeting between the old rivals since Dublin won the 2023 All- Ireland final and while Ger Brennan's men have enjoyed a relatively productive campaign with wins over Donegal and Galway, the Kingdom remained a step ahead.
While David Clifford was held quiet for long spells, the Fossa man still ended up with 1-6 to his name as Kerry found a way to get him on the ball, but older brother Paudie pulled the strings with five points of his own.
For Dublin, Con O'Callaghan was well contained, but Cormac Costello and Colm Basquel stepped up, but they needed more on the day as Kerry will now face Mayo in the final on Sunday, 26 July.

POTTSVILLE — Chase Goodman did just about everything right on the baseball diamond to lead Blue Mountain to a 9-6 win over Pottsville to win the District 24 Southeast Little League Championship at Rotary Park on Friday.
Goodman blasted a first inning solo home run over the left field fence and starred on the mound, throwing 5.1 innings and allowing three runs on five hits with 10 strikeouts.
“I was just looking for a first pitch fastball to jump on it and do some damage to help my team win,” Goodman said. “The momentum carried into my pitching and helped keep the team strong throughout the game.”

Blue Mountain broke through with a six-run fourth inning which included Anthony Grimminger, Jayse Callaghan and Christian Machamer RBI singles. Grimminger then came on to pitch for the Eagles in the sixth and allowed four runs before ending the game by recording a swinging strikeout ahead by three runs.

Dublin staged a stirring second-half comeback to beat Galway 1-25 to 1-21 in a Croke Park thriller and reach the All-Ireland semi-finals.
Con O'Callaghan hit 1-6 for the Dubs, including a second-half penalty after Liam Silke was black-carded for a foul on Colm Basquel which swung momentum in the closing stages.
Galway appeared on course for victory after John Maher's goal 15 minutes from time put them 1-20 to 0-17 in front.
But Ger Brennan's Dublin - who outlasted Donegal in extra-time last week to reach the last eight - ate into the deficit and finished with a flourish to return to the last four for the first time since 2023.
Dublin will now face defending All-Ireland champions Kerry on the weekend of 11-12 July for a spot in this year's final, while Louth will play Mayo in the other semi-final.

Travel bans on Israeli government ministers Itamar Ben-Gvir and Bezalel Smotrich, are being introduced by the Irish justice minister, Jim O'Callaghan, the Taoiseach (Irish prime minister) Micheál Martin has confirmed.
Ben-Gvir is the Israeli national security minister and Smotrich is the minister for finance.
Last month, France announced it had banned Ben-Gvir from entry for a video mocking bound activists seized by Israeli soldiers on a Gaza-bound aid flotilla.
The US, the UK, France, Italy and Canada were among the countries which expressed outrage. Ben-Gvir's actions also drew criticism from Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who said they were "not in line with Israel's values".
Last year, Ben-Gvir and Smotrich had sanctions imposed by the UK, Australia, Norway, Canada and New Zealand for "repeated incitements of violence against Palestinian communities".

Former Northern Ireland captain Marissa Callaghan said that Turkey striker Busem Seker "had to be sent off" after she controversially handled the ball before later scoring the winner during their 2-1 victory over NI.
Michael McArdle's side were trailing 1-0 in the closing stages of a quiet first half in Istanbul when the game sparked to life as Seker handled Fi Morgan's goal-bound effort on the line.
Referee Alexandra Collin quickly pointed to the spot and Northern Ireland expected a red card to follow, but the French official opted for a yellow, much to the frustration of the visitors and Callaghan, who was on co-commentary duties for the penultimate World Cup qualifier.
