BATON ROUGE – An ex-NFL player practiced with LSU football Monday morning.
First-year LSU coach Lane Kiffin shared with reporters Aug. 31 at his weekly press conference that tight end Dae'Quan Wright went through his first practice with the Tigers.
"I can tell you that Dae'Quan practiced and the SEC knows that," Kiffin said. "We asked them before. That's in no violation of any previous rule or even the rule that's out there now. The new rule does not prohibit that."

Kiffin referenced a rule that the SEC adopted just a couple of days after a Louisiana judge put in a place a temporary restraining order for 33 former college student-athletes that granted them a fifth year of college eligibility. The SEC now prohibits teams from having any players that have signed contracts with NFL, NBA or WNBA teams on their final rosters.
