The tennis star went viral for the Nike mesh jersey-style top she wore over her orange sports bra and matching shorts on Tuesday, Aug. 25. when she wore it during her mixed doubles match with Novak Djokovic.
The outfit did not go over well with fans, but ultimately, Sabalenka was unbothered, saying, "Who cares what people think?" to reporters on Friday, Aug. 28. She explained that she went with this outfit as a tribute to playing in New York, and she likes to do a different Grand Slam look for the host country.
"This year it was super special for Nike … it was always related to different sports," she said.
