The debate around transgender athletes participating in women's sports has reached all-time highs after comments on the subject by Indiana Fever guard Sophie Cunningham and tennis stars Aryna Sabalenka and Coco Gauff.
Now, Jay Feely, a former NFL placekicker who is now the Republican nominee for Arizona's 1st congressional district, is giving his thoughts on the topic.
"We should be willing to stand up and say, hey, we don't want men competing in women's sports," Feely said in a video shared to social media. "We wanna protect those women's sports because they have biological advantages.
"If every guy who didn't make it in college and didn't get into the NBA decided, you know what, I wanna go play in the WNBA right now, I'm gonna identify as a woman, there wouldn't be any women in the WNBA. There wouldn't be a single woman. Caitlin Clark would not be able to compete against these men who go because of the physical advantages that they have.
