The Yankees are off and away with their 2026 draft class. After selecting electric left-handed starter Hunter Dietz out of Arkansas at No. 35 overall, the team decided to double up on the position in the second round, but with a twist. Instead of a college starter with proven results in an incredible conference, they hit the prep market.
British Columbia’s own Sean Duncan was selected at No. 63 overall by the Yanks out of Terry Fox Secondary School in Port Coquitlam, just outside of Vancouver.

The Canadian prospect, who turned 18 just two months ago, comes in with the added red flag of having recently undergone Tommy John surgery, which damaged his draft stock after being ranked No. 41 on Perfect Game’s Big Board, No. 66 at MLB Pipeline, and No. 67 on Baseball America.
