Crosshill Christian baseball player Miles Lute is the winner of the Maps Credit Union high school boys Athlete of the Week, as voted by Statesman Journal readers.

A sophomore, Lute posted a hit, scored two runs, pitched five innings and struck out seven batters May 29 in the Eagles' 8-2 win over Country Christian in the Class 2A/1A state quarterfinals.
Lute received 57.55% of the reader poll votes. Dallas track and field athlete Bertram Latta was second (39.05%).
