Livingston have sacked Glenn Whelan after just nine games, with David Martindale returning to the head coach position on a temporary basis.
Former Republic of Ireland international Whelan, 42, was appointed in May following the West Lothian club's relegation from the Scottish Premiership.
He leaves with Livingston fifth in the Scottish Championship after two wins and three defeats.
There were two wins two draws in the Premier Sports Cup.
On announcing the end of Whelan's brief reign, Calvin Ford, the West Lothian club's American owner and chairman said: "Our net will be cast far wider than it was in our previous search, and the focus of the search will be via data ******* ytics.

A "reckless" young driver who killed two people in a crash while speeding has had her prison sentence increased at the Court of Appeal.
Attorney General Ellie Reeves KC referred the case of Liberty Mitchell to the court under the Unduly Lenient Sentence scheme, and it was increased from six years and eight months to nine years and three months.
Taxi driver Octavian Codreanu died at the scene and passenger Moyra Whelan died in hospital after the crash on the B4425 in Gloucestershire in December 2022.
Mitchell, 21, who passed her driving test three weeks before the crash, had admitted two counts of causing death by dangerous driving and causing death by driving while uninsured.
