Hannah Waddingham has developed a red carpet style that is glamorous, confident and unapologetically feminine. Whether she is wearing an extravagant ball gown, sleek tailoring or a playful mini dress, the Ted Lasso star consistently embraces dramatic silhouettes and bold details while making each look feel distinctly her own.
At the 2022 Emmy Awards, Waddingham delivered a memorable princess moment in a strapless Dolce & Gabbana gown. Its voluminous pink tulle skirt and jeweled bodice brought plenty of drama, while glittering sneakers hidden underneath added an unexpected practical touch. She later changed direction at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards, choosing a metallic green Tom Ford dress with a figure hugging silhouette and sheer detailing. For the Ted Lasso season three premiere, she demonstrated her versatility in a flowing Tarik Ediz halter jumpsuit.
Her 2024 appearances pushed the glamour even further. At the BAFTAs, Waddingham wore an Oscar de la Renta creation featuring intricate floral embroidery and an elegant high neckline. She embraced full Hollywood glamour at the Emmys in a shimmering halter gown finished with a dramatic feathered train. At the SAG Awards, a red Tony Ward gown combined off the shoulder styling, elegant draping and a thigh high slit, while her Golden Globes appearance brought a darker mood through sheer fabric, corsetry and black lace.
Waddingham continued experimenting with color and texture in 2025. At the Cannes Film Festival screening of Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning, she arrived in a striking pink Elie Saab gown with a sweeping, voluminous train. She later offered something completely different at the Los Angeles premiere of Smurfs, wearing a Stella McCartney denim dress accented with delicate white lace and coordinated white pumps.
By 2026, Waddingham was still finding new ways to balance sophistication with playfulness. For the Ted Lasso season four premiere, she chose an Alice + Olivia mini dress decorated with oversized red floral embroidery. It was shorter and more playful than many of her grand red carpet gowns, but carried the same unmistakable confidence.

Few television shows have shaped how Americans see a sport the way "Ted Lasso" did for soccer. The relentlessly optimistic former D2 football coach (football, not soccer) from Kansas City, hired to sabotage an English club by its owner's socialite ex-wife, somehow turned football (soccer) into a cultural phenomenon during the pandemic, introducing millions of viewers who had never watched a soccer game to rivalries, fandom and rituals.
It made them BELIEVE futbol is life.
When the series ended two years ago with AFC Richmond earning promotion to the Premier League, it felt like a fitting conclusion, not only for Ted but also for the audience. Three seasons had delivered a reminder of why people fall in love with the beautiful game.
Now the series returns with an even more ambitious challenge. Rather than taking audiences back to men's football, it turns its attention to the women's game. But unlike in 2020, when it helped introduce millions to soccer, the women's game no longer needs a television show to explain why it matters. The question is whether the series can capture women's soccer's evolution.
2020 was a strange year. As I was sending cancellation notes for my own wedding during the pandemic, I found myself becoming increasingly invested in Ted (played by Jason Sudeikis), Rebecca Welton (Hannah Waddingham) and AFC Richmond. By the final episode, I had become a pseudo-supporter of the imaginary club, embracing their underdog story. As a sports journalist, that's a rare feeling. I spend my career covering real clubs, not fictional ones. Yet "Ted Lasso" managed to make soccer feel personal again. If it could do that to someone who already covered the sport, it's easy to understand why millions of newcomers found themselves watching the Premier League after the credits rolled three years later.

"I got married. We met on season two of Ted Lasso. He was my driver," she shared.
Her co-star and close friend Hannah revealed that Juno asked for her advice on dating the Polish actor.
"She said, 'Can I ask him on a date?' I was like, 'Yes, you can, he's gorgeous,'" Hannah recalled.

When Ted Lasso concluded with Season 3, it was written and marketed as the end of the story. Three years later, the Apple TV+ series is back with a new chapter as Ted returns to England to coach AFC Richmond Women's Team. The fresh premise reunites familiar faces including Hannah Waddingham, Juno Temple, Brett Goldstein and Jeremy Swift alongside Jason Sudeikis, while introducing a host of new characters.
Juno Temple is usually sends me down an archival fashion rabbit hole, and more often than not it leads to Versace. This time, only the archival part remained true.
Her Roberto Cavalli Spring 2001 printed cowl-neck gown felt perfectly suited to her free-spirited style. Roberto Cavalli's collections from this era were defined by fluid silhouettes, exotic, psychedelic prints and unapologetically bold colour combinations that celebrated glamour. The turquoise, pink and lime palette captures everything that made early-2000s Cavalli so distinctive.

The football-shaped bag was exactly the playful finishing touch I expect from Juno.

Silverstone doesn't have a bowl like Indianapolis, and Northamptonshire isn't exactly blessed with parking capacity. And yet 564,000 people found a way to cram themselves onto that old airfield between July 3 and July 5, the largest crowd that has ever turned out for a Formula 1 event anywhere on the calendar. That number doesn't describe one sunny afternoon. It's the ******* ulative count across practice, sprint qualifying, the sprint race, qualifying, and Sunday's Grand Prix, and it says more about where this sport is right now than any single lap time does.
Attendance figures like this one are always tallies, not single-day headcounts, and that distinction matters before anyone starts comparing it to a football stadium's capacity. A circuit can only physically hold so many bodies on race day itself once you account for grandstands, run-off, and emergency egress routes, so that number is effectively capped no matter how badly a promoter wants to sell more tickets. What made 2026 different wasn't a bigger track. It was hundreds of thousands of people deciding a Friday practice session and a Saturday sprint were worth paying for on top of Sunday, and that's really the figure that ought to have circuit marketing departments elsewhere paying attention.
We already broke down the race itself in detail, and it earned every one of those extra ticket sales. Charles Leclerc finally won at Silverstone after years of trying, Kimi Antonelli's ******* le bid came apart when a wheel shield failed while he was hunting down the lead, and Max Verstappen buried his Red Bull in the Stowe gravel for the second race weekend running because of the same rear wing fault that ended his qualifying in Austria. It was as chaotic as Silverstone has been in years, sprint format included, and the on-track drama only made the record crowd figure look better in hindsight.
The grid walk on Sunday looked less like a paddock and more like an awards-show red carpet, with Hannah Waddingham, Hugh Grant, Jeremy Clarkson, Brian May, and a rotating cast of Premier League footballers all wandering around before lights out. None of that happens by accident. It's the byproduct of a decade of deliberate positioning, Drive to Survive turning drivers into recognizable characters, Lewis Hamilton's move to Ferrari giving British fans a rooting interest wrapped in Italian red, and a championship fight tight enough that Antonelli, Russell, and Hamilton are now separated by 32 points with more than a third of the season still to run.
There's a financial angle to a record crowd that's easy to skip past amid the celebrity spotting. Grandstand seats, hospitality packages, and paddock club access make race week Silverstone's single biggest revenue event of the year, and promoters don't publish attendance totals purely for bragging rights. They're effectively an annual earnings report for the venue, one that circuits use internally to justify grandstand expansions and, eventually, to defend the nex
