The Green Bay Packers are opening up training camp on Wednesday, and injured players are in the spotlight as Matt LaFleur's team heads to the practice field to begin prep for the 2026 season.

Because not even the off-day can come without some ****** mer Mariners news, Adam Jude of the Seattle Times reports that the Mariners are parting ways with ****** istant hitting coach Bobby Magallenes.
Magallanes joined the staff prior to the 2025 season along with hitting coach Kevin Seitzer, both of whom had been unceremoniously fired by Atlanta after the 2024 season when the Braves finished the season 89-73. That mark was good for second place in the AL East, but broke the Braves' streak of six consecutive division ****** les, even though Atlanta still qualified for the playoffs, where they were swept by the Padres in the Wild Card series. It was a surprising move at the time, and looked on with consternation by many Atlanta fans as Seitzer and Magallanes went on to help the 2025 Mariners get deeper into the playoffs than any other Mariners team in history, making it all the way to the ALCS.
But baseball is often a sport of what-have-you-done-for-me-lately, and the Mariners, floundering after a 3-3 homestand against two of the worst teams in the NL, opted to make a move to try to spark some offense. While bold staffing changes is a common mid-season move among teams that are dramatically failing to live up to expectations, it's curious that Seitzer and Magallanes – long regarded as a package deal and sharing a similar hitting philosophy – weren't both let go. The ineptitude of the Mariners offense, last or near the bottom of the list in most offensive categories, is obvious, but like the 2024 Braves, Seattle's lineup has been wracked by injuries that have affected, at least temporarily, basically every member of the Opening Day roster except second baseman Cole Young [knocks on wood, pours salt circle, extends giant protective umbrella over Cole]. Beyond the conspicuous absence of Birmingham from the list of UFL teams looking for a head of business operations, UFL co-owner Mike Repole has made it clear that a relocation is possible if not likely.
"Sitting in a senior leadership meeting planning the [the UFL] 2027 season, one thing is becoming very clear," Repole said Tuesday on Twitter. "The right market. The right sized venue. A passionate fan base. That’s the WINNING formula. I have a hard time seeing us back at Protective Stadium next year. It goes against one of the biggest principles we’re building this league around [. . .] smaller stadiums, packed houses, real energy and a true home field atmosphere. Birmingham, I am looking and need options and ideas."
It's hardly a coincidence that the UFL posted notices for the head of business operations jobs at all teams except Birmingham that same day. A move out of Birmingham looks to be firmly in play.

The six solid objects discovered on Forrest Beach, to the north of Townsville, are thought to be **** e debris, and the Australian **** e Agency (ASA) is now trying to determine where they came from. The BBC has approached the agency for comment.
Crews in protective suits were reportedly seen placing the spheres in hazmat barrels under police guard, over concerns they may contain hazardous substances.
Queensland's fire department said on Sunday that a 50m exclusion zone remained in place, urging anyone who found a suspicious object in the area not to touch them.

STUART, Fla. (AP) — Prosecutors are allowed to review medical records related to Tiger Woods ' March vehicle crash and subsequent arrest in Florida on suspicion of driving under the influence, a judge has ruled.
Judge Darren Steele approved an agreement last week between Woods' defense attorney and the State Attorney's Office that allows prosecutors to request records from Cleveland Clinic Martin South Hospital, where Woods was taken following the March 27 crash. The case is being tried in Martin County circuit court, just north of Palm Beach County.
The judge signed off on a similar agreement in May that grants prosecutors access to all prescription medication records for the legendary golfer at a Palm Beach pharmacy from the start of the year through the end of March. For both hospital and prescription records, prosecutors have agreed to defense attorney Doug Duncan's request for a protective order limiting the release of records only to prosecutors, law enforcement officers, state experts and Woods' defense team.
Woods has pleaded not guilty to driving under the influence. A sheriff’s office report said deputies found two pain pills in his pocket, and he showed signs of impairment after his SUV clipped a truck's trailer and rolled onto its side.
Woods was traveling at high speeds on a beachside, residential road on Jupiter Island with a 30 mph (nearly 50 kph) speed limit when his Land Rover caused $5,000 in damage to the truck, according to an incident report. CLEVELAND (AP) — Jacob deGrom pitched seven strong innings and the Texas Rangers took advantage of a bone-headed play by Cleveland rookie outfielder Cooper Ingle on Tuesday night to beat the Guardians 4-2 and extend their winning streak to six games.
DeGrom (7-5) allowed a two-run homer to Kyle Manzardo in the first before turning dominant. The right-hander gave up a leadoff single in the second before retiring 18 of the next 19 batters, improving to 4-0 in June.

Emma Raducanu has pulled out of Wimbledon on the eve of the tournament due to “a stress fracture” in her right leg.
The British No 1, who said earlier on Sunday that she had been managing a “niggle” in her lower leg since Queen’s, sparked fitness concerns ahead of Wimbledon after she was spotted at the All England Club wearing an orthopaedic boot earlier this week.
The 23-year-old missed two days of practice before she cut short a session at the All England Club on Saturday and postponed her pre-tournament press conference to the following day to deepen concerns about her fitness.
Raducanu returned to training on Sunday with her lower leg still strapped in protective tape, but later told the media that she planned to play her first-round match against Antonia Ruzic at 1pm on Monday.
But, writing on Instagram shortly at around 10pm on Sunday evening, Raducanu said: “I can’t believe I’m saying this, but sadly I’ve had to withdraw from this year’s Wimbledon.

PHOENIX (AP) — A polygamous sect leader already serving a 50-year federal prison sentence for orchestrating ****** involving children was convicted Friday on state child abuse charges after girls were found in an unventilated trailer he was hauling through Arizona.
Someone alerted authorities about the trailer in August 2022 after seeing small fingers reaching through gaps in the doors. Police stopped Samuel Bateman's vehicle as he was driving through Flagstaff and found three girls inside, who were ages 11 to 14 at the time. The trailer was enclosed with a makeshift toilet, a sofa and camping chairs.
In the federal case, Bateman was convicted of coercing girls as young as 9 to submit to ****** acts with him and other young adults, and for scheming to kidnap girls from protective custody, the story of which is the focus of a Netflix series, "Trust Me: The False Prophet."
Bateman previously claimed to have more than 20 "spiritual wives," including 10 girls under the age of 18. He testified in his own defense in the state case, telling jurors he would never harm the people he loves. He acknowledged during cross-examination that he knew the girls were in a hot trailer for hours and the ventilation wasn't good, but downplayed the conditions.
"I just trusted myself as a driver," he said. "I asked God to bless me every time we hopped in that vehicle."

WASHINGTON (AP) — Former Transportation Secretary Pete ***** igieg was the target of an anonymous report that police determined was false and that he says forced him to spend a night away from his four-year-old twins.
According to ***** igieg, a Michigan State Police officer and a child protective services worker came to his home in Traverse City after they received an anonymous report alleging he posed a danger to his children. Authorities arranged forensic interviews for his twins and instructed him not to be alone with them until the interviews were complete.
Buttigieg described the 24-hour ordeal in a Substack post as "among the darkest hours of my life."
Michigan State Police said in a statement to The ***** ociated Press they received an "anonymous report" and that they and child protective services "responded and determined the report was false."
Buttigieg said investigators told him the anonymous caller claimed he had confessed years earlier to violent crimes during a chance meeting in Alabama. ***** igieg said he had never been to the town where the meeting allegedly occurred.

There's growing alarm among European leaders over the flood of Chinese exports threatening their home-grown industries, and their response could resemble something from President Donald Trump's trade war.
Frustration is boiling over as China's goods trade surplus with the European Union hit 360.6 billion euros ($414 billion) in 2025, up 15% from 2024. And in the first four months of this year, the gap has expanded by 10%.
In fact, French President Emmanuel Macron even suggested a course of action that's straight out of Trump's own playbook.
"We must take protective measures, safeguard measures," he said last month, calling for "the European equivalent of Section 301."
Section 301 of the Trade Act of 1974 allows the U.S. to impose tariffs in response to unfair or discriminatory trade practices. After the Supreme Court struck down the global duties Trump levied last year under the International Emergency Economic Powers Act, he plans to use Section 301 as the linchpin of his crackdown on trade deficits.

Coach Ralf Rangnick said Sunday that Posch, who went through full training the day before the match, had to go to Los Angeles twice to get fitted for a protective jaw brace that will allow him to play despite the injury. Posch didn't need surgery.
"He is ready to play tomorrow just like every and any other player," Rangnick said through an interpreter. "Then we will see if he will start tomorrow, or maybe he will be brought in during the match."
Posch injured his jaw after colliding with a Jordanian player in Austria's 3-1 win in its Group J opener on Tuesday in Santa Clara, California. That was Austria's first win in the international tournament in 36 years.
It was initially feared that the 29-year-old Mainz defender would miss the rest of the World Cup.

The versatile 25-year-old came on for Jude Bellingham in the 80th minute in Dallas. The Spurs full-back is in Thomas Tuchel’s England squad ahead of fellow left-backs Lewis Hall and Luke Shaw following a topsy-turvy club campaign.

Daveigh Chase -- who was the voice of Lilo in Disney's Lilo and Stitch and played Samara in The Ring among her many roles on screen -- died at the age of 35, per reports.
What was Chase's cause of death? TMZ reported that her boyfriend Roy Hernandez said she "died Tuesday from meningitis and an infection in her blood, which caused her to have septic issues and led to her body shutting down." The site also reports she had been in a Los Angeles hospital earlier in June due to "malnutrition."

Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds recently reunited at an MLB game. There, they were nearly struck by a foul ball, prompting a moment of shock. The outing comes shortly after the announcement that the Deadpool & Wolverine stars are teaming up for a new Disney+ docuseries.
MLB took to X (formerly Twitter) to share a video featuring Reynolds and Jackman reacting to a moment from the New York Yankees vs. Cleveland Guardians game. The duo was engaged in a brief conversation before being abruptly interrupted. A player hit a foul ball that flew toward the section where they were seated, and it touched the protective barrier in front of them. While it appeared to come dangerously close to hitting them, the protective fencing prevented any incident. The hit, however, prompted a reaction of fear and shock from them, as well as those seated in that particular section.
MLB wrote the caption, "Wolverine and Deadpool scared by a foul ball? Superheroes … they're just like us." The moment garnered mixed reactions from fans. One wrote, "They are actors.
