Miley Cyrus has broken her silence on the death of her godmother, beloved country icon Dolly Parton.
In an emotional post on Instagram, the Flowers singer shared a black-and-white portrait of the star and stated that the pair's "sacred moments" will remain private.
"The feeling of losing my Aunt Dolly is beyond what feels right to share," the tribute opened. "Our most sacred moments were private, and they'll stay there behind the stage, beneath the glamour and between our hearts."
Cyrus did, however, recall one of their final conversations in a touching commemoration.
"What I know is Dolly would want me to feel it, write a song about it, and then continue on and be strong. I have an angel by my side. I always have. One of our last conversations was about music and metamorphosis.
"I will always love her and want to make her proud. My heart breaks for the world, her family and friends who will miss her deeply. We're in this loss together, and we will see her in all of the most beautiful things."

It certainly didn't have to be Greg Gaines, but the Buffalo Bills were in dire need of a veteran rotational piece at nose tackle behind 22-year-old budding star Deone Walker.
Jim Leonhard's new system, which will feature a front that's more amorphous than stagnant, does have a three-man defensive line foundation — maybe you've heard. Quite naturally then, it requires more classically built nose tackle types on the roster.
And for as good as Walker may become as the man in the middle of the Bills defensive line in Year 2 and beyond, it was painfully obvious the 2026 iteration of this team was lacking in the depth department behind him.
DeWayne Carter, a 2024 third-round pick, is returning from a torn Achilles in his second season and was drafted to be an upfield, one-gap disruptor. Even if he's packed weight onto his 6'2" frame, he's learning on the fly this summer in a new, blocking-eating, two-gapping role.
And he's hardly been up to the task. Carter's training camp was quiet, and he was on the field well into the fourth quarter in Buffalo's opening preseason game against Carolina. On 19 snaps, Carter did not make the stat sheet, including 0 pressures on 13 pass-rush snaps against the Panthers second and third-team offensive line.

Brazilian state-controlled oil giant Petrobras has identified hydrocarbons in an exploration well being drilled in ultra-deep waters off the state of Amapá, providing an early indication of petroleum potential in one of the country's most closely watched exploration frontiers.
The Morpho well, formally known as 1-BRSA-1405-APS, is being drilled in the FZA-M-59 block in the Foz do Amazonas Basin, around 175 kilometers offshore in water depths of 2,886 meters. Petrobras said the hydrocarbon-bearing interval was identified through electrical well logs and indications in rock.
Drilling remains underway, and Petrobras has not disclosed the size of the accumulation, the type or quality of the hydrocarbons, or any estimate of recoverable resources. The result therefore represents an exploration discovery rather than confirmation of a commercially viable oil or gas development.
Still, the find is significant because Petrobras described it as its first discovery offshore Amapá, an area at the northern end of Brazil's Equatorial Margin where the company has been seeking to establish a new exploration province.
Petrobras began drilling Morpho after receiving an operating license from Brazilian environmental regulator Ibama in October 2025. At the time, the company said the well was designed to collect geological data and determine whether hydrocarbons were present in economically viable quantities, with no production planned during the exploration phase.

Riders at the Tour de France Femmes were subject to extra clothing checks before Tuesday's stage following claims some could be using extra padding in their bras to seek an aerodynamic advantage.
A communique from race organizers confirmed the checks after Dutch outlet Wielerflits reported some teams had raised concerns that padded bras could smooth the airflow around the body for the stage four time trial.
"Riders must be to the final checks before the race (bikes and outfit) no later than 10 minutes before their respective start time," the communique said.
"Particular attention will be paid to compliance with article 1.3.032 of the UCI regulations, including non-essential elements and clothing or other items/accessories worn by a rider (including but not limited to helmets, glasses, shoes or in-race communication devices) which could modify riders' morphology."
The UCI defines non-essential elements as "any element which does not have a purpose which is exclusively of clothing or protection, or which is not strictly necessary for the functionality of the clothing, or other item, or accessory".
